The Willard Van De Bogart (WVDB) Private Collection is a multidisciplinary library containing books spanning India, Southeast Asia, and beyond. The collection enabled the understanding of four vast kingdoms - India, Cambodia, Thailand, and Laos - as well as perspectives on humanity's place in the universe. The document requests that the WVDB collection remain together and only be studied on-site, as it took many years to assemble and has provided the basis for numerous research publications.

Introduction:
The significance of this small WVDB private collection of books is that they enabled me to construct a picture
of the development of four vast kingdoms i.e. India, Cambodia, Thailand and Laos. But more importantly the
books offer understanding on the cosmos and how it affected the interpretation of who we are as a people
standing under the starry sky. One book alone does not avail that understanding, but the collection as a whole
gives a broad understanding of our place in the universe. It is therefore suggested that the WVDB private
collection is not separated in the standard classification of library organization, but instead act as a system of
knowledge that has provided me with an understanding of ancient cultures and how that understanding is
relevant today. To that end it is my request that the WVDB private collection stay together, and that books
from the private collection are not taken from the library, but are only to be studied on the premises. It took
many years to collect the books, and many research articles were published based on the knowledge they
contain. The WVDB private collection represents a love of knowledge on the people that populated SE Asia
and beyond. Although not a vast private collection I believe as a whole the WVDB private collection affords
many avenues to explore in order to take a journey into time.
