2. Check my experience!
It Was a great adventure to get my education. I am an engineer,
graduate of Kielce University of Technology (civil engineering)
with Master`s Degree. My internship was connected with
maintenance and constructing of motorways. During my studies
I have also had a part time job in a music club with bowling.
3. Now I am finishing my university
education and looking for career
opportunities connected with my skills.
Let my show You what I have been
doing untill now!
4. The university provided essential
qualifications required in my oncoming
career.
I am proud of my lecturers, who are
cooperating with the industry. Thanks to
that they provided me with up-to-date
knowledge and useful skills.

5. Microsoft Word and Excel are not enough…
Except for engineering issues, I have performed
projects using tools as:
-AutoCad
-MS Project
-Norma PRO
- others
6. My internship. Why the government agency?
From the beginning of my university journey
I wanted to work not only with residential buidings issues,
but also in the area of maintenance and construction of
motorways.
The organisation that I have chosen was the General
Directorate of National Roads and Motorways (division in
Lower Silesia).
7. The Directorate has accepted my
application and I was given a chance to
work closely to my interests.
First departament, I worked at, was the
Team of Road Traffic Management at A4 and
A8 Motorways. A8 is a ring-road of Wroclaw
and A4 is one of the most commonly used
roads in Poland.

in Laka, Lower Silesia district
8. My key responsibilities were: supervising the situation
on the roads, collecting information about dangers and
managing the traffic by Variable Message Signs.
I also participated in visitations at the whole lenght of
the road that was being serviced.
9. After the work in the division
of motorway maintenance, there
has come a time for a really great
challenge. I decided to work for
another departament – a Laboratory
of road materials.
That was a job strictly
connected with building materials,
technology and objects constructing.
10. During my internship, the department was supposed
to supervise the constructing process of S8 expressway
(Wroclaw – Lodz).
That was a great opportunity to get to know specifics of
work in construction site and the relations between participants.
I could also use and check the knowledge that I gained at the
University.
11. My everyday tasks were in-situ testing:
• controlling the gravel`s compaction with
VSS method
• Light Weight Deflectometer tests
• Falling Weight Deflectometer tests
• collecting speciments of building materials e.g.
concrete
• laser profilograph
VSS method. Testing the gravel compaction.
12. Laser Profilograph, checking the
roughness of road surface
Falling Weight Deflectometer, a device testing the
properties of structural layers of carriageway
13. I was also executing other tests:
• durability of concrete and substructures material
• checking the granulation and asphalt content in mix
• water penetration and cold resistance of concrete
• durability of small concrete elements

14. The extractor, a device that tests the mixtures

abriasiveness of small elements
15. The internship at General
Directorate of National Roads and
Motorways was a great challenge.
Working for sometimes about 12 hours a
day is not an easy task, but it is the best
way to learn as much as possible.
Directorate`s employees provided
me with a large klonwledge. Everyday
meetings with contractors gave me a
better view for the specifics of their work.

16. Apart from lectures, I try to broaden my knowledge by
visiting my University Library and reading handbooks and
magazines related to roads indystry.
Every year I attend the big exhibition in Kielce Trade Fairs.
The event makes companies from all over the world come to Kielce
and present the areas of their operations and the offer.
Something more than lessons
17. During my studies I have found my first job, typical for
a young person. It was a work in a big music club with bowling in
a city ceter.
I am proud of that, because I was very successful during
the cooperation with this company.
First steps – First successes
18. I started with spreading leaflets, but thanks
to my involvement, management appreciated my
skills and quickly promoted me.
In that way I become rosponsible for guests
service in club, and finally got down with supply,
training new employees and coordinating their work
during big events.

19. Constructing is not a recreation, but working in club has
tought me some universal rules and skills:
• self-reliance
• proper preparing of work
• teamworking
• paying attention to safety
• working under time-pressure
• stubbornness in goals achieving
Me at the bar that I was responsible for
20. My career in the future
I`m going to find a job related to contracting
of residential and commercial buidings
Next step will be achileving necessary
constructing licences.
21. In conclusion
I`m not afraid of hard work in construction site. There
is a time of achieving skills and experience ahead of me.
I`m trustworthy because everything, that I`ve done, gave me
great basics to start the work as an engineer.
