1. OURWORK
• Studying the effectiveness of multicompo-
nent exercise intervention on physical per-
formance, independence and health-rela-
ted quality of life on healthy and impaired
institutionalized and community-dwelling
older adults.
• Investigate the contribution and extent to
which the physical measures may explain
the physical performance in older adults.
• Investigate the effects that wearing unsta-
ble shoes has on disability, trunk muscle
activity, and lumbar spine range of motion
in patients with chronic lower back pain.
• Evaluate the pain-relieving effect of transcu-
taneous electrical nerve stimulation (TENS)
during diagnostic and/or therapeutic medi-
cal procedures.
• Investigate the effects of multidisciplinary,
online, multimedia, interactive and self-ad-
ministered combined exercise–diet pro-
grams for the treatment of childhood obesi-
ty.
4. FACILITIES
• Fully equipped research laboratories,
Biomechanical Motion and Analysis La-
boratory, Functional Capacity and Geria-
tric Assessment Laboratory, Cardio-res-
piratory Assessment Room etc.

gained from 15 years of dealing with both
healthy and impaired geriatric populations.
