1. Assure Method
Tuesday
A- I am going to be teaching 2D and 3D shapes to a class of kindergarteners between the
ages of 5 and 6, I plan on teaching this lesson in a rural area with a mix of boys and girls
in the classroom. I realize that I cannot just stand at the board and lecture because these
are small children that learn by hands on interaction. I need to also teach by making the
students participate in as much as possible.
S- Through a poster, an activity, and an individual assessment100% of my class will learn
to name three 2D shapes and three 3D shapes by the end of the day on Tuesday.
S- In order to teach this class of kindergarteners to name a total of 6 shapes half 2D and
half 3D I am going to make a poster and display it in front of the class. I then am going to
name off all the shapes and explain to them why each shape has the name it does. Next
each student will participate in an activity where they will have the names of the different
shapes cut out and the shapes cut out and each student will have to match the name to the
shape. Lastly the students will come up to me individually and I am going to point to
each shape on the poster and I am going to have them name off the shapes I point to. This
way I will be able to see which students know the information I am teaching and which
ones still need help.
U- The students will first come in and I will have the poster in the front of the classroom.
I will then name off each of the shapes and explain to them why each shape has its name.
Next I will have the activity set up and I will divide my students into groups and I will
have the shapes cut out and the names cut out and I will have each group match the
names to the shape. Next I will evaluate my students by having each one come up to me
and I will point to the shape on the poster (the same poster just without the answers) and
they will have to tell me the name
R- My learners will participate by doing a class activity, I will evaluate them
individually, and they will learn from a poster I created
E- I will evaluate my material that I use often by making changes as needed and I plan to
assess each of my students individually on this day to see where everyone is at.
