Drug trafficking is the production of drugs done illegally that violate the drug prohibition laws. Throughout the years, drug trafficking has been
progressing and expanding to the point to where it is now worldwide. Organizations involved in drug trafficking have been improving their networks,
constantly upgrading their transportation and equipment, having new methods to transport the drugs and communication throughout the system, and
finding information on their employees to use against them which makes it harder for law enforcement to keep up and take action to reduce the
problem of drug trafficking.
The illegal transportation of drugs started to become serious whenever the Medellin Cartel began to dominate the cocaine business. The Medellin
Cartel was ran by the Ochoa Vazquez brothers Jorge Luis, Juan David, and Fabio; Pablo Escobar, Carlos Lehder, George Jung, and Jose Gonzalo
Rodriguez Gacha. In 1975, the Colombian police found 600 kilos of cocaine stashed in a plane. Drug traffickers responded to the police by killing
40 people in one weekend which is known as the "Medellin Massacre." The massacre led to the uprising of various killings, assassinations,
kidnappings, and the discovery of a hit list that contained U.S. businessmen, embassy members, and their families. It was then when violence was

The communities were not only in urban populations, there were reports from rural Sheriff Departments of gang that would publicly acknowledge
themselves. This is a very concerning truth to people who live in rural areas, the spread of gangs brings drugs and violence to once safe communities.
In a 2009 ABC News article, up to one million gang members are to blame for eighty percent (80%) of crime in the United States [3]. In a 2008 speech
given by Former FBI Director Robert Muller said "Chicago law enforcement estimates there are at least 60,000 gang members in the community –– far
outnumbering police officers. There are hundreds of homicides each year, the majority of which are gang–related." [3]. The realization of criminal
organization and gang's outnumbering law enforcement is a scary thought, how do law enforcement agencies stop a problem when there are more
criminals than officers. Through community outreach programs, and by citizens alerting law enforcement to possible gang or other criminal
organization activities the public can help stop the spread of drug trafficking, drug related violence, and the spread of gangs and other criminal
organizations into their communities.

Transnational Crime is nothing new across the country. It covers a wide range of crime that includes human/drug trafficking, cybercrimes, and
weapons trafficking etc. However, since laws and law enforcements officers differ from country to country catching traffickers coming into another

Unethical Actions FedEx was charged with illegal drug trafficking in 2000s. FedEx got caught shipping illegal drugs across the US into pharmacies,

It's hard to understand the direction of information flow or where the authority resides in a network which is flexible and constantly changing, which
makes it harder for law enforcements to devise any strategic moves and predict the outcome. The network structure seemed to be really dense in the

The Problem Of Drug Trafficking
The US/ Mexico borderlands are the site of a number of "flows" of goods, people, and ideas over the last century. The US is attempting to increase
the "flow" of some goods such as food, but restricting others like illegal immigration and drug trafficking. The US has been trying to stop drug
smugglers and illegal immigration by setting some policies. When Salinas became the president of Mexico, his number one priority was to stop drug
trafficking and smuggling it into the US so both countries could sit and talk about NAFTA (North American Free Trade Agreement). Drug trafficking
was and still is the number one problem in Mexico. "During Salina's six–year term in office, arrests nearly doubled, prominent traffickers were jailed,
and principal figures in the Camarena case were convicted."(Andreas) The Salina's antidrug offensive helped pacify US critics and paved the way for
the passage of NAFTA. But this agreement did not stop drug smugglers, it actually encouraged more drug–related corruption. "As more government
resources were devoted to drug control, smugglers responded by devoting more resources to paying off those doing the controlling."(Andreas) The
NAFTA was consider a success in the early years, US Government thought that Salina's government did very good and it was going to stop drug

It has come to my attention that a certain issue needs to be addressed and if this issue continues to grow then this town could see some serious changes
and people could find themselves in serious dilemmas. The issue I am addressing is drug use and trafficking that has been known of for many years.
Due to the fact that the least bit of attention has been brought upon drug trafficking it has begun to grow and create a larger issue than some can
even begin to imagine. Illicit drug trade according to the world UN Drug Report "is one of the largest global businesses, at some $322
billion"(Shah,2008). Now in a sense it might be a risky business to get into, but that is fast cash and might I say a good amount as well. Now this
isn 't the only issue I will bring up when you notice that the attention is not given to this issue drugs can be in high demand and because no one has
done much to barricade these drugs it is extremely easy to obtain these drugs. My solution for this problem comes in three 's as a nation we should
not make any drug legal, create effective crime policies, and reducing demand. The first way we will decrease the drug trade is by not making any
drug legal to any civilian of this country. "Drug legalization" increasingly merits serious consideration as both an analytical model and a policy option
for addressing the "drug problem."

Summary: The Issue Of Drug Trafficking
A woman overdose due to heroin dealt by five other people one being a fifteen–year–old boy who delivered the heroin to the victim. On the day of the
death of the victim(sometime within a week), she went to go buy heroin near a living space in Greensburg. After receiving the drugs she went home
and later overdosed. The dealers(Brea Sanders, Toni Sanders, Maurice Williams, Tywan David, and the fifteen year old boy) were found with 690
stamp bags in the room as well as themselves, due to a tip that gave local authorities the location of the deal, allowing all five to be arrested on the spot
and charged with drug charges as well as murder charges. This problem is not only a local one, yet a national level problem. This happens all over
the US, but this one is one of the local reports in Pittsburg. Also, Drug use and dealing have been a problem within the US for years, yet the banning
of drugs is helping the business grow and certain city law enforcement rarely does anything about it until someone is found dead. Overall, the article
was to prove that anyone could become involved with the trafficking of drugs, and be a "Mule, or the person who delivered the deadly drugs in this
case,...(to not being) an adult,".
