1. Managing Your Time
Prioritising and Planning
Prioritising activities in your ‘normal’ life is probably
something you are used to and is largely intuitive.
However, you now have to consider a new priority – study
time! An MBA course or any other Level 7 course will
require between 12 and 20 hours of study time per week.
How will you cram that extra time into what is probably a
very busy week already?
3. Managing Your Time
The pebbles and sand experiment is a great way to show that it is easy to fill our lives
with trivial stuff and not have enough time for the important things. Furthermore,
modern technology combined with smart phone easy access does not help at all.
The video also shows us the prioritisation grid. Studying for an assignment can start
out as important but not urgent. However, as time passes and the date gets closer, it
becomes more urgent. Try to anticipate this by starting on your assignments in good
time. In addition, there may be less important and non-urgent activities in your list
that could quite easily by postponed to a later date. Think about doing this so that
you can free up some valuable time early on.
Working and studying will be demanding and tiring. Be sure to include time to relax,
rest and exercise into your schedule. Although these things are not urgent, they are
certainly important.
