believe that people need to correct their bad habits, because each bad habit will increase the risks of health problems. Bad habits such as staying up
late, lack of physical activity, and the overuse of technology are a few of the major habits that our current generation is developing.
As a night owl, staying up late can create bad eating habits. Cutting back on sleep increases the likelihood of indulging high calorie foods which may
eventually lead to obesity. As the lead study author at the University of Pennsylvania, Andrea M. Spaeth tested a group of 27 participants who went to
bed at 10 pm and another group of 198 who went to bed at 4 am. Their results concluded that the second group had consumed significantly more food
than the first group. As Spaeth stated, the longer we stay awake, the more time we get to eat high fat foods.
Staying up late does not only lead to overeating, but it also weakens your immune system. If you're staying up late, you're probably getting sick
frequently because you're not getting the recommended hours of sleep. According to a study in the "Cancer Research" journal from researchers at the
University of Chicago and University of Louisville, poor quality sleep can speed cancer growth, increase tumor aggressiveness and weaken the immune
system's ability to control early cancers.

I can definitely relate to Patsy, about the bad habits. If I could remember how I acted as a child, then I would try to work towards that. I feel like I
started my habits at a very young age because, my past was difficult and I knew it was wrong with what I went through. I feel like I can tell people
what I went through as a kid which, I was sexually abused. But I know I have to drop it and move forward because I feel like it is holding me back.

Can people change? Most people say one can't change, everyone always stays the same. In the book The power of Habit by Charles Duhigg, he talks
about the powers of a habit's and how one can change these habits. A habit is something someone practices continually, that is hard to give up. Myhabit
is smoking, every time I go somewhere in my car I feel like smoking a cigarette. Duhigg hypothesizes that change can happen through the

This can be easier said than done because to be able to change the routine the reward has to be the same. To change the routine Duhigg suggests that
one may use the Golden rule of habit change. This is the thing that will replace the routine in my case smoking, exchanging it with something else. In
the book, Duhigg uses an example where someone is trying to change their habit of nail biting. He suggests that this person should find a new
stimulation, he said this would help them get rid of the nail biting but keep the same reward. He suggested "... rubbing her arms or rapping her

or a group of people that want to achieve the same goal. Duhigg used alcoholics to portray the power and impact a community can have on
changing a habit. He believes that "AA trains people in how to believe in something until they believe in the program and themselves." (Duhigg,
85). In my chase, I had a friend who also wanted to quit so we decided to go for coffee once a day for a week. Instead of being in a social environment
that would provoke us to smoke we meet up in a small coffee and socialized while drinking our coffee. This gave the same reward as smoking because
