Advantages of Isostatic
Press
• Powder is compacted with the same
pressure in all directions, and, since no
lubricant is needed, high and uniform
density can be achieved.
• The process removes many of the
constraints that limit the geometry of parts
compacted unidirectionally in rigid dies.
• It is applicable to difficult-to-compact and
expensive materials such as superalloys,
titanium, tool steels, stainless steel, and
beryllium, with material utilization that is
highly efficient.
19. Market Scenario
The Isostatic pressing market is segmented based on offering,
type, HIP capacity, CIP process type, application, and region.
Based on offering, the market is bifurcated into systems and
services. By type, it is categorized into hot isostatic pressing and
cold isostatic pressing.
The isostatic pressing market was valued at USD 5.72 billion in 2017
and is expected to reach USD 9.22 billion by 2023, at a CAGR of 8.08%
during the forecast period. The growth in this market is fueled by the
growing demand for high-density and low-porosity materials in 3D
printed parts, growing tendency to develop low-cost products with
shorter cycle times, and increasing demand for combining hot isostatic
pressing with other heat treatment processes. The growing investment
by aerospace and defense players in the installation of HIP units is a
key opportunity for the growth of the isostatic pressing market players .
