Who Needs to Participate on completing a STaR

All Teachers must complete the
Teacher chart
Campus administrators will also
complete a campus STaR chart
5. What?
The STaR Chart is an online resource tool for self-
assessment of our campus’ and district’s efforts to
effectively integrate technology across the
curriculum.
6. What?
This rubric serves as the standard for assessing
technology preparedness in Texas
K-12 schools.
7. What?
The STaR Chart has been updated to align with the
new Long-Range Plan for Technology, 2006-2020.
8. Why?
The No Child Left Behind Act of 2001
emphasizes student achievement and
assessment of fundamental knowledge and skills
requires that students be technology literate by
the end of the eighth grade
in order to accomplish this, teachers must
complete the STaR chart for data collection, to
establish profiles, and gauge progress.
9. When?
Teachers complete the chart annually to
provide data
Campuses complete the Campus chart
annually based on teacher responses to be
used for:
•Planning resources
•Budgeting
•Evaluating progress
