5. Background Info
Nearly a decade ago, Tom Ames postponed his MBA and entered
the workforce to obtain experience in the transactional space.
Through working directly for major privately-held firms in the
construction management, architectural and engineering design,
and real estate realms, he learned the art of the deal from start to
finish. Tom researched and reviewed hundreds of deals, which led
to structuring and executing the highest quality thereof. In addition
to the deal work, the Principal exhibited his leadership abilities by
co-opening a branch office of a thriving firm in a new market. As a
result of the foregoing experiences, when he returned to obtain his
MBA, he knew exactly what he wanted and had developed the skill
set to obtain it.
Tom will earn an MBA in May of 2016 from Babson College, with a concentration in finance.
Throughout the process, he has continued to work with a purpose: gaining a decided edge over
other MBA candidates through the real-world application of his work in the classroom. With
both broader perspective and hands-on real world experience, he tested strategies and ideas
beyond academia for a real estate firm targeting properties in the $20-60 million range.
Immersed in the full acquisition funnel from deal sourcing to purchase, sale negotiations to
securing capital, he’s now prepared and ready to source and acquire the company he looks to
successfully lead for years to come.

finance an entrepreneur’s efforts to locate, acquire and manage an
