2. The first scene of the video establishes both
setting and star image as you get an
establishing shot of the skate park which is an
urban environment as well as the ‘star’ in the
foreground. It also links with the digipack as
you see lots of graffiti in the shot which is
similar to the front cover which is made to look
urban by the fact its been graffited on.
3. The use of symbiotic marketing is becoming an
ever more popular way to advertise to an
audience, this is done by linking product to create
a brand which in this case would be the artist Lupe
Fiasco. It is becoming more popular in the music
industry a now bands do make as much money
from record sales, so to make more money they
have to sell other products such as tours. This is
why we created a poster advertising a tour the
artist is supposed to be doing , but it is important
that they link with other products so people
associate them with the same artist. We did this by
ensuring they all use similar imagery and also the
colour scheme throughout is the same.
4. Overall I think we were successful, with
ensuring that our main media product and the
2 ancillary text are effective. We stuck to genre
paradigms throughout the process so that
cultural signers could be easily seen such as
costume and setting, we also made sure that
there was a consistency between all three so
that they linked. We also managed to this with
star image as throughout all three pieces you
can see him throughout so the audience is able
to relate to this and recognise the link.
