Students are to create a digital expository book report using Prezi ,
VoiceThread, or Glogster(s) to effectively identify key themes and literary elements. The digital composition or
multimedia “text” should incorporate the use of words, copyright friendly images and videos, design elements, and
hyperlinks to highlight insights and reflections of the self-selected independent reading.

Storyboard: the student has completed a storyboard that was approved by the instructor before the 5
Prezi was completed. The storyboard is easy to read and all elements were clearly identified. The
content items are sequenced in a thoughtful, effective, and logical manner.
Clarity and Design: the presentation reflects excellent use of font, color, graphics, and multimedia 5
effects to enhance the presentation and to tell the “story” of learning and the reading experience.
Each panel is “clean” and easy to read without being overly “busy” with an abundance of too much
content.

Prezi Paths: Prezi paths are easy to follow; the Prezi incorporates the “zoom” feature to emphasize
key ideas/images without going overboard on the effect.
VoiceThread: The pace (rhythm and voice punctuation) fits the story line and helps the audience
really "get into" the issue. Voice quality is clear and consistently audible throughout the presentation.
Glogster: appropriate and effective mix of links, text, and media to create a cohesive and
interactive electronic poster
Images and/or Video: the use of these media create a distinct and appropriate tone for 5
expository/information composition. The media may communicate concrete or abstract
representations of ideas and facts. All multimedia is copyright friendly (Creative Commons licensed
or approved by Ms. Frost or Ms. Hamilton). All hyperlinks work and go to the correct content.
Audience: the design elements reflect a strong awareness of audience in the design (classmates, 5
teaches, other teens who may see the Prezi). The design elements are thoughtful and purposeful in
choice and incorporation into the Prezi.
Economy: the Prezi reflects and maintains a clear focus through all panels; the information 5
presented is balanced and focuses on big ideas without getting bogged down in irrelevant or off-topic
details.
Grammar and Spelling: grammar and usage are correct and contribute to the overall clarity, style, 5
and effective communication of ideas.
