2. Techshore Inspection Services, was founded in 2006 jointly by a
group of engineers cum entrepreneurs. We started as a
educational venture imparting professional training modules for
fresher's as well as experienced Engineers. Within a year we were
able to expand our business to various other fields like third party
NDT Inspections, Products and acquiring sub contractual works in
refineries, pipelines, structural, construction of platforms from
L&T, IOCL, ONGC etc.
Today we have a full fledged infrastructural set up for conducting
technical Training modules which are highly demanding in India
and abroad and suitable particularly for engineers. These training
fetch 100% job opportunities in India and abroad with high salary
and status.
Due to our high credential in service business we are also able to
provide onsite training to students which will be highly beneficial
for students to get immediate jobs in the same field in India or
abroad.

10. N D T – METHODS-CIVIL
• VISUAL INSPECTION
• REBOUND HAMMER
• ULTRASONIC PULSE VELOCITY METER
• REBAR LOCATTOR
• CARBONATION DEPTH
• PERMEABILITY TEST
• RADIOGRAPHY
• INFRARED THERMOGRAPHY
• HALF CELL POTENTIAL
• GPR
11. N D T - OBJECTIVES
• TO ESTABLISH HOMOGENEITY OF CONC.
• COMPARISON OF CONCRETE QUALITY w.r.t. A STANDARD
• DETECTION OF CRACKS, VOIDS/ OTHER IMPERFECTIONS
• MONITORING CHANGES IN CONCRETE WITH PASSAGE OF
TIME
• TO ESTABLISH QUALITY OF ONE ELEMENT w.r.t. ANOTHER
13. DEFINITION
This test is done to assess the quality of concrete by
ultrasonic pulse velocity method
The principle of this test is –
The method consists of measuring the time of travel of
an ultrasonic pulse passing through the concrete being
tested. Comparatively higher velocity is obtained when
concrete quality is good in terms of density, uniformity,
homogeneity etc.
15. DEFINITION
•Rebound hammer test (Schmidt
Hammer) is
used to provide a convenient and
rapid indication of the compressive
strength of concrete.
•The compressive strength can be
read directly from the graph
provided on the body of the
hammer
17. DEFINITION
• The rebar detector and cover meter with a unique real-time rebar
visualization allowing the user to actually “SEE” the location of the
rebar beneath the concrete surface to a maximum depth of 180
mm.
• Rebar diameter can also be estimated within the specified testing
range. The Profoscope combines these unique features in a
compact, light device that allows the user to operate this rebar
detector with one hand making the task of locating rebars a simple
and efficient process.
20. DEFINITION
• Half-cell potential measurements are simple, inexpensive and
virtually non-destructive techniques to assess the corrosion risk
of steels in concrete.
• Corrosion of steels in concrete is a global problem for concrete
structures. In Japan, many concrete bridges along the coastline
have suffered corrosion due to chloride ingress from sea water.
When steels corrode, there are usually signs of deterioration
on the concrete surface such as rusting, cracking and spalling
23. DEFINITION
• Thermography, also called infrared inspection, is based upon
the sensing of heat emitted from the surface of an object in
the form of infrared radiation. Test instruments are used to
detect and convert the infrared radiation into either a
temperature value or a thermal image, which can be used to
assess the thermal condition of the object at the time of
measurement. An infrared camera is one common type of an
infrared thermal imaging device.
26. DEFINITION
• Radiographic Testing is primarily used to find
sub-surface flaws in concrete structures .
• High voltage X-ray machines produce X-rays
whereas gamma rays are produced from
radioactive isotopes such as iridium 192. The
chosen radiation source is placed close to the
material to be inspected and the radiation
passes through the material and is then captured
either on film or digitally.
27. •Gamma sources have the advantage of portability,
which makes them ideal for use in construction site
working.
• High energy portable X-ray machines are available for
special applications such as concrete structures.
•X-rays and gamma rays are very hazardous. Special
precautions must be taken when performing
radiography testing. Therefore the method is undertaken
under controlled conditions, inside a protective
enclosure or after assessment with appropriate barriers
and warning systems to ensure that there are no hazards
to personnel.
30. DEFINITION
• Concrete carbonation occurs naturally over the service life of a
concrete structure, where carbon dioxide reacts with calcium
hydroxide within concrete to form calcium carbonate.
• Carbon dioxide can come from either the atmosphere or from
external water sources. It is important to note that the “rate of
carbonation depends on the porosity & moisture content of
concrete” where water plays a signature role in the carbonation
process
• While carbonation can reduces its alkalinity. The reduced alkalinity
decreases the corrosion protection capabilities of the
reinforcement steel, often leading to spalling as a result.
• It has been found that carbonation occurs more rapidly in
structures located at the coast as opposed to their inland
counterparts.
