1) The PR field is dominated by women but men often hold top positions. 2) Social media is hugely important for PR and companies use it to communicate with the public and stay up to date. 3) While PR can be fun, there are times when you have to get your hands dirty, such as cleaning up after an event. PR requires humility.

2. 1. Women In PR
I learned that while there are some men in PR, the
field is mostly consumed with women. The men in PR
aren’t over looked though because majority of the
time men are the ones who hold the top positions.

3. 2. Importance of Social
Media
Social Media! Most of use it in one form or another. I’ve learned that most
companies use social media to communicate with people and that it is a
good way to stay up to date with what is going on in the world. PR and social
media literally go hand in hand.

4. 3. Dirty Work
I’ve learned that while PR is fun, times will come when you will have to get
your hands dirty. The PR profession is one of the most humbling careers and
even though you may have put on an event you might be the one cleaning
up that same event at the end.

5. 4. Ethics and Law
I’ve learned that you should always be ethical no matter what. Sometimes
there may be situations that arise but you must always be true and ethical
because it could ending up impacting your reputation as well as the company
you work for.

6. 5. Many Outlets
I learned that there are so many more aspects and outlets to PR
through this class. Every week we would learn about something new.
Even when we would hear from our speakers some of them would
start off in non profit and end up in cooperate or business PR. There
are so many different things that you can do with PR . I’m excited.
