Whatsapp, Snapchat, You Tube, Instagram, and many more.
In social media, the right etiquette equals acting the right way.
There definitely is a right way and a wrong way to use social
media.
Social Media etiquette includes everything about what do’s and
don'ts’ on a Social Media.
Etiquette 1:
• On a Social Media, your profile picture is your identity.
• Your profile picture should present you explicitly.
• Place your picture, represent your true nature!
Etiquette 2:
Following thousands of people with the hope they’ll follow
you back will tarnish your brand. The number of followers
shouldn’t be your main indicator of success on social
media. While it’s a good indicator of your awareness on
social media but your follower count doesn’t mean much
without context.
Follow request should be sent to only people you know on
a personal level.
Etiquette 3:
Social Media is a platform to share. But the sharing should
be done with considering various factors such as, your
audience, validity of your content, etc.
You should never over communicate. Only relevant
information must be shared. Over communication might
not only bore the audience, it also risks invade of privacy.
Time is an important aspect of life. Always be To the Point
and Precise.
Etiquette 4:
Social Media is all about posting, posting thoughts, photos,
stories and alerts. Your post must be relevant to the
audience you are sharing your content to.
Etiquette 5:
Spread of content on Social Media is very fast. This opens
door for you content to reach massive audiences but it can
also lead to plagiarism, copyright infringement and absence
of credit where credit is due.
The author of the content must always be given credit for
his/her context.
Etiquette 6:
It’s a common sense but very uncommon. Playing nice with
people helps your social reputation. Rude or unrespectful
behaviour is not appreciated. Being respectful to anyone
and everyone earns you respect. Give respect take respect.
Etiquette 7:
Thank You! It sounds simple, but it is heavier than it seems.
Take the time to thank someone, anyone who compliments
or likes your content on social media. This shows your
manners, that a person is worth the respect.
