Why Do We Grow Up Differently
We all grow up differently. We have different parents, siblings, houses and experiences that shape us
into the people we are today. We interact with different people and we watch those who are around
us. Everyone can impact our life but it is you who chooses who. Everyone is different and I am no
exception, this is who I am.
I am one of the few people that get to experience having a twin. We were born in Springfield,
Missouri on October 14th. I was 5 pounds and my sister, Mariah, was 4. We were a month
premature so we had a few health problems. Mariah and I were both born with holes in our hearts.
As we grew, the holes fixed themselves. Unfortunately, this was not the end. Mariah was kept in the
ICU for a few months after we were born. When I was about 6–8 months old, I came down with
whooping cough. I fought through and barely made it. I grew up in Marshfield. My favorite thing to
do was read. I would read instead of watching tv or I would go outside and play with Mariah in the
mud. When my brother, Jordan and my nephews and nieces started to be being born. I became a
mother hen. This is where I believe my care and love for children came in.
I love children. I love playing with them or taking care of them. As I grew up, my love for them
continued. I was always wanting to babysit ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
She is not only my sister but she is my best friend. Most people can not stand their siblings and want
to get away from them but Mariah has always been by my side. We would do everything together.
Growing up she was always there beside me. We played, sung, laughed, cried and read together. If I
was doing anything, she was right there beside me doing the exact same thing. She got me through
the hard times in our childhood and I know that I can tell her anything. I always look up turns her
and she helps me make the right decisions. She turns me towards things I thought I would never do.
She has influenced me greatly throughout my

Buck's Influence In The Call Of The Wild
"Your circle of influence dictates your path." –John Bielecki. Influence others have can guide your
life. In the book "Call of the Wild", Jack London uses the influence of masters. Buck is a pampered
prince in Santa Clara Valley, in Judge Miller's house. One day, he is kidnapped and sold to be a sled
dog. Buck met several masters, the man in the red sweater, Francois and Perrault, and John
Thornton. All of them played a great role for Buck's rapid growth. Under the harsh environment of
toiling, Buck gradually grew into an undefeatable, wild beast. Among his masters, Buck felt
passionate love for him and Thornton. After Thornton's death Buck returns to the wild, but the trace
of civilization left him brings him to the place where Thornton ... Show more content on

Buck answered the call of the wild after Thornton's death. He ran and howled with the wolves. The
Indians called him a ghost dog because he was a powerful wolf who came to the place where
Thornton died every year. This was because Buck felt the passionate love for him and Thornton.
Buck saved Thornton, risking his life. "Love. Genuine, passionate love, was his first time." (pg 73).
What the influence of love Thornton had for Buck was unbreakable. Thornton's influence allowed

From Halloween parties to museum visits, the Art History club does it all. They are welcoming and
accepting of all, as long as you love the history of art. This club is art history majors that get
together and attend and plan events that involve our interest in the history of art. This organization is
full of art, art history and history majors, but they are accepting anyone who loves art. "Anybody
can join," Secretary Morgan Schrock says. "We accept anyone who loves art, museums and fun."
The club faded out last year due to the lack of members, but their goal this year is to gain more
members and get the club back to the top. "Our executive board is amazing," faculty advisor Terri

Benefits Of Art Club In School
Does your school offer a variety of clubs, classes, and activities? Most schools do. Some clubs at my
school are Nerd Herd, Theater club, French club, and art club. Some of the classes are drama, art,
Spanish, French, and career investigation. Some activities are soccer, basketball, football, and
school dances. One of these that students enjoy is art club. Students enjoy art club because it's fun,
it's a stress reliever, and they get to hang out with friends. Students enjoy art club because it's fun.
One way that art club is fun is that students get to do whatever they want, on certain projects. A way
that students get to do whatever they want is that they may put flowers on their project and someone
else may put robots on theirs. There are really cool projects to do, and if students like art than they'll
love to do these projects! One of these projects is ice dyeing. Last year in art club we ice dyed T–
shirts and pillowcases. Ice dying is like tie dying, in the way that they both diy the fabric, and
students certainly don't diy anything in a regular art class. Another example is a chalk board. Last
year in art club we made small chalk boards with whatever we wanted on them. None of the chalk
boards were the same, they were all different. Some of them had flowers while others were stained.
The last reason why art club is fun is that last year we had a party at the beginning and end of the
year. At the meeting before each party each student signed up to bring in a type of

Plunging The Joy Luck Club by Amt Tan Essay
The Joy Luck Club (1985) was written by Amy Tan (1952). The Joy Luck Club is the story of a
Chinese mother who leaves everything behind, a mother who leaves her family in China in order to
get her children (in this case our protagonist June) a better life. Or as Amy Tan says: "The Joy Luck
Club, about a woman whose mother has just died and who regrets that she never knew who she truly
was. The stories poured out. They were what I felt and had to say before it was too late. I had found
my reason to write." (http://www.theguardian.com/books/2013/nov/19/amy–tan–joy–luck–club–

story of a Chinese–American woman who realises in a ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The story of the swan (we can read it on Feathers from a Thousand LI Away) is very meaningful.
The American Dream changes between the generations. For the mothers, it is creating a future full
of privilege and success. For the daughters, it is the freedom to take their opportunities and do with
them as little or as much as they want. The daughters' American ness is reflected most strongly in
their relationships with men. Ted, Harold, and especially Rich, represent the American part of their
wives, which for the mothers seems frighteningly disconnected from Chinese thinking. Suyuan
wants Jing–Mei to be the perfect American girl like Shirley Temple, but resents how little Jing–Mei
understands about Chinese culture. As Lindo Jong explains, these are the perils of being "two–
faced." Fitting in one place means not fitting in somewhere else, and the challenge for Chinese–
American women is to find a balance that honours both cultures. Another very important subject is
that which talks about love and marriages. On the one side we have the mothers who thought that
love and marriage are not always holding hands. That is, a wife sometimes has to do things although
she doesn't want to. We come back to role of the submissive woman. On the other hand we have the
daughters, who believe that they have the right to find true love and to get married and if they marry,
they have the right to be themselves and not what their husbands or the

Adolescence And Emerging Adulthood : The Breakfast Club
Released in 1985, The Breakfast Club depicts five high school students from Illinois as they spend a
Saturday together in detention. Prior to their arrival, John Bender, Claire Standish, Andy Clark,
Brian Johnson, and Allison Reynolds had not met, nor would they have associated with one another
on a typical day in high school. After spending nine hours together, however, the group of vastly
different adolescents break down emotional barriers, manage to build a sense of intimacy, and some
establish dating relationships by the day's end (Hughes et al., 1985). The film illustrated a rather
realistic portrait of adolescence in several topical domains. The Film's Portrayal of Adolescence The
authors of The Breakfast Club produced a ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Second, while discussing her attitude, Claire discloses feeling substantial pressure from her friends,
admitting that she hates doing what they say (Hughes et al., 1985). This is a realistic example of
how clique member's ensure conformity and strengthen cohesiveness (Arnett 2013). The Self
Compared to concrete thinking in childhood, adolescents' thinking becomes much more abstract.
This enables them to partake in self–conception; differentiating between who they are and who they
may become in the future (Arnett, 2013). This developmental milestone is presented in The
Breakfast Club when the five teens are sitting on the floor, discussing their insecurities. Andrew asks
the group, with a horrified expression, if they are going to be like their parents. Claire answers with
certainty that she will not (Hughes, et al., 1985). As they imagine their future selves like their
parents, they are conceptualizing their feared selves (Arnett, 2013). Andrew also speaks of the false
self he presents to make his father proud. This is shown as he admits that the physical pain and
humiliation he caused a peer was not something he wanted to do, though he knew it was an action
for which his father would praise him (Hughes et al., 1985). According to Arnett (2013), it is during
the period of adolescence that teenagers recognize the false selves they present and that their false
selves are contrary to their actual feelings and thoughts. Also involving the self,

Why I Like Penelope
I like some of the characters but some I don't like because they are rude to people in the novel. Some
of the characters I like are penelope, jaime, and maribella. I like them because they are nice people
and they believe that some people make a mistake but are a really good person or people who hurt
people for the fun of it. Maribella made a big mistake but Jaime forgave her because he knew she
did it for a good reason and not for the fun of it. I love people like this because it shows that those
people try to find the good in everyone. A reason I like Penelope is because she is so sweet to
everyone and she has a very big heart. She wants everyone to be safe and looks out for everybody
she knows and loves. Even though she makes some mistakes

Soccer : The Causes Of Social Class In Soccer
Social class is something that has been promoting tribalism for centuries. Lower income classes
would join together to fight for an equal purpose. However, in recent days, we rarely see people
going against one another in violent acts due to difference in social class; but that is only true for
people outside the soccer world. Seweryn Dmowski explores the rivalry between Sevilla Fc and
Real Betis, two of the main clubs in the city of Seville, Spain. Sevilla was created in 1905, being
one of the most successful clubs in its country. Four years later, several players left the club to create
their own one: Real Betis. Betis represents until today the poorer class in Seville, whereas Sevilla
FC is the club supported mainly by middle or high income citizens of the city. Both clubs created
what is considered one of the biggest rivalries in the country. Due to the difference in social class,
not only fans, but players developed hatred for one another, causing riots between fans, violence
during the match, and even a pitch invasion by a Sevilla fan to attack Betis' goalkeeper. Another
issue explored in the article is the effect of difference in language . This issue may not be something
that would generate rivalry between two groups, but again, only if the issue does not involve soccer.
Belgium is divided into two parts, the Dutch and French speaking. The language difference in the
country represents more than language normally does. However, it is not an issue that regularly

I grew up in a very typical Indian home that consisted of my two immigrant parents, my
grandparents who didn't know a single word of english, and two older brothers who never failed to
ridicule me or push me around, as siblings do. It was hard being the youngest and the only girl, but I
got used to being spoiled by all the love that came from the elders of the family. I was lucky enough
to make it this far without ever having to face a major conflict when it came to my culture or
nationality. Although the people around me were fascinated by who I was, I was embarrassed. I felt
like I had to live a dual life where I was one person at home and another at school. It wasn't until my
sophomore year of high school that I finally began to accept who I was and love myself for it. My
culture and my religion play a big part in my identity and I hope to never forget that. I took the

Why Is Multitasking Should Be Allowed In School
Hi my name is Tanika Munroe, I attend Piscataway High School. I am writing to you today
concerning the matter of students having to receive a B average or higher in order to participate in
clubs or sports. In my school I already see such a matter going on. If students don't maintain a
certain grade they are put on something called a sports leave or sports tutoring. This is so the players
can get their grade up so that they can continue to play on the team. I strongly believe that this is
unfair because for one it is hard for someone to get used to multitasking I can speak on this myself.
You might say its' something one person can get used to but this is not true, not everyone can get
used to something like that. Secondly, there are kids who play sports that may have learning
disabilities, there should be exceptions for students like that. Lastly, academics do come first but, I
believe that sports and clubs are some of the reasons students look forward to coming to school. ...

Multitasking in my words is when you have to joggle more than one task at the same time. When
students have to joggle a sport plus an education, it's not easy. To start off a sport is a big task itself.
A player has to worry about making sure to bring home a win and, bettering their skills. Even to
some parents a sport is a main priority in a child's life. On top of trying to be a top player in their
sport, they also have to try and maintain that B average or higher. Some students are not capable of
joggling these two things. Students should just have a warning at first so they can buck up not just

Analysis Of Ansel Adams: A Picture Is Worth A Thousand Words
Ansel Adams: A Picture is Worth a Thousand Words On February twentieth, in the year 1902, San
Francisco, California became the birth place of one of the greatest artists and environmentalists in
American history: Ansel Adams. Growing up in a relatively poor family, Adam's childhood was
marked with many difficulties. Despite that fact, his father, "Charles H. Adams,... who in his own
youth had been discouraged from following a passionate love of nature and science, was determined
that his son would be free to follow his own interests, wherever they might lead" (Turnage 1). One
of those passions was music, which later served him in expressing his art. However, another,
stronger passion was his love of nature, which stemmed from his childhood that was spent in the
sand dunes near the Golden gate and the mountains of the Sierra Nevada. His passion for nature and
its preservation would follow, propel, and torment Adams until his death in April ... Show more

However, Adams faced criticism and struggled with each noble act he committed. In the simplest
terms, Adams was a true conservationist. He wanted to preserve not only the physical land, but its
wild, pristine spirit. He feared, as many environmentalists now fear, that the parks would become
"'loved to death' by backpackers and other visitors, through sheer weight of numbers" (Turnage 5).
Perhaps, his belief that the parks should be left alone accounts for the reason why he never
photographed any people in his scenery, a criticism his works face today. However, Ansel Adams
took pictures worthy of the words of such legendary writers as Rachel Carson or Ed Abbey. His art
was fundamental to the success and expansion of the environmental movement. As truly heroic
deeds are never forgotten, Ansel Adams' voice, art, mission, and passion will continue to captivate
audiences and motivate Americans to protect their environment in every

Village Dog Club Research Paper
A dog club can offer all kinds of advantages for both you and your dog. At the Villages Dog Club,
there's no difference. The Villages Dog Club consists both pedigree and mix–breeds. The members
use their monthly meetings to allow their four–legged friends to socialize while the humans use the
time to share and gain information about having dogs in the Villages. Approximately 120 members
strong, there's only a small group of consistent attendees at the meetings. Could you just imagine
more than 120 furry friends?
Established around a decade ago, The Villages Dog Club is led by Larry Miller as club President
and Mary Mazur as Vice President. Besides the chance to socialize, the other purpose of the club is
"advocacy for Villages dog issues", said Larry.

The dogs and doggies especially enjoy meeting the onlookers along the route. "Sometimes, the
parade entries behind the Dog Club are told to pass us and go on by", Larry said. We can image the
reason for that change in a parade route.
Club member, Mel Waldman has an Agility Dog. It's not a strange name for a breed, but it's a dog
sport. The sport requires the owner to direct his best friend through an obstacle course in a race for
both time and accuracy. The race is run off leash and is not rewarded at completion. This is amazing
because as you know they do it because of their unconditional love for their owner.
Dogs appear to truly enjoy their dog club experiences. It can be an enjoyable experience to watch
them run and play, simply appreciate their abilities to blend grace with speed and joy.
If you have a best friend known to some as a dog, I encourage you to join the Villages Dog Club. It
will be good for you, and your friend will love you for it. The Villages Dog Club meet at 10am on

The Difference Between Love And Lust
What is the difference between love and lust? According to the dictionary, love is a feeling of strong
and constant affection for a person. On the other hand, lust is a strong sexual desire for another
("Merriam–Webster"). The definitions of love and lust are complete opposites. Love is a constant
feeling, while lust is impermanent. Yet, the two are always confused between people. This is
because of the word "strong" in both of the definitions. When a person is deeply in love or is
consumed by lust, the feelings are both strong. Therefore, it is sometimes challenging to
differentiate. Banksy, a well–known street artist, realized the problem with love and lust, and
decided to teach people a lesson by painting a piece of street art called "Waiting in Vain...at the Door
of the Club."
Banksy is a very renowned street artist who keeps his identity unknown. His artwork is portrayed by
"striking images, often combined with slogans, [which] engages political themes, satirically
critiquing war, capitalism, hypocrisy and greed" ("Banksy Biography"). He first started his bold
street art in Bristol, his hometown located in London, but quickly spread to the United States of
America. In the U.S., Banksy targeted the most populated cities; this was due to the fact that it was
easier for him to spread his messages. With a crowded location, his lessons will extent over an
audience much quicker.
One of the most popular places where Banksy's art fills the streets is New York City, which was

Today, students were instructed to come in and draw a pictures to represent themselves based on
their physical attributes or interests. I joined in as well. After this morning work, we all gathered
around the carpet in the floor and shared what we drew and explained how it described us. This was
such a cool get to know activity and allowed students to express themselves in a fun way. After, they
had a vocabulary quiz later in the days so students were allowed to create flash cards in order to
partner study. Again, this is a great idea to gets kids involved in learning, using a different activity to

What Is The First Rule Of Fight Club
FIGHT CLUB Tiffany Constant ECPI University Fight Club is about a man and his "friend" finding
a different way of dealing with their problems other than traditional therapy, by resorting to the most
primal way they know how to; fighting. The movie starts off with main character, Jack, stating that
it's been six months since he has been able to sleep. That right there tells me that is something
mentally off about him. It makes me wonder if anything is real or what is being imagined by Jack.
Jack eventually "meets" Tyler while flying back home from a business trip. When Jack arrives home
he sees that his apartment, along with all of his stuff, has blown up. Jack calls Tyler, they go out for
beers and Jack keeps talking about how all his stuff is gone. He states that his possessions complete
him. When they leave the bar Tyler asks Jack to punch him, he does and fight club begins that night.
I think that the director was trying to get across at this point in the movie that possessions do not
define who we are as a person. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

time. Sixth rule is no shirt no shoes. Seventh rule is the fights go on as long as they have to. And the
eighth and final rule is if it is a person's first night at fight club they must fight that night. I bring this
up because if no one is supposed to talk about fight club then how do they have new people at the
fights? Is fight club real? Are the people that belong to fight club

Clubs Should Be Allowed In High School
When I first arrived to Simpson, the campus had an organization fair where all the clubs on campus
were available for students to explore. I went to the fair and signed up for four clubs: Rotaract, Pre–
Health Society, Breast Cancer Awareness Club and Campus Activity Board Club. I was involved in
many athletics and clubs throughout high school and plan to be very involved in clubs here at
Simpson. I'm anxious to begin these clubs over the next four years. The first club meeting I attended

I think that being in clubs, such as CAB, is great for students because it helps undergraduates gain
better social skills, keeps students busy, and teaches them to manage their time. Statistics show that
students who are busy in athletics or clubs often achieve a higher GPA than students who do not
participate in extracurricular activities, so that is another major reason why I chose to be active in
clubs on campus. By becoming active in clubs, students are able to interact with the Simpson
community and possibly go out of their comfort zone by experiencing new things. Clubs are a great
way to meet new people and make connections that may stick with you forever. Keeping myself
busy is important to me and by signing up for CAB and other clubs, I know I will stay busy but not
be overloaded. Simpson College offers around forty clubs to keep their students busy on campus and
possibly explore what we like and dislike. I think that the college does a great job of creating a
variety of clubs for undergraduates of all interests. Also, if a student doesn't see the club they want,
the campus allows them to begin a club with approval. I believe that some of the clubs can help
students get an internship and get opportunities to interact with professionals in their desired career.
By being active in CAB, students can discover if they enjoy organizing events or speaking in front

As one attempts to have a closer and more personal relationship, the other pulls back. Estragon fears
becoming too intimate with Vladimir because he wants to keep his masculinity. The chasm between
Vladimir and Estragon continued to grow throughout the play. Within Fight Club, the characters
show love but in a sense of ownership in order to hold their masculine title. They also are afraid to
love in hopes of becoming vulnerable. Palahniuk wrote, 'This isn't about love in caring. This is about
property as in ownership" (Palahniuk 14). This view of love is not positive, as it is used to control
others. However, there is irony within this because none of the characters within the novel want to
be controlled. Not falling in love can also serve as a reason to uphold masculinity. The readers could
tell that the narrator was head over heels for Marla Singer, one of the few female characters in the
novel, but he refuses to approach it. He said, "I tell Tyler, Marla Singer doesn't need a lover, she
needs a care worker. Tyler says, 'Don't call this love'" (Palahniuk 62). The narrator and Tyler agree
with each other that they are most certainly not in love with Marla, but the readers know he is.
Another example is present when the narrator believed he liked Marla but claimed he did not love
her. "It's not love or anything . . . But I think I like you, too" (Palahniuk 205). In the world of Fight

Becoming A Teacher : My Experience In The Classroom
Today when I got to school, I took time to walk around and talk to students about their weekends.
Mrs. Prioreschi is big on letting kids express themselves and share things, and this time is perfect for
allowing them to do that. After they got settled, I played their morning show on the computer for
students to watch. Computer class was next and they were in a new programming software called
coding with legos. I got taught how to complete a full set so could help students when they run into
obstacles along the way. When we got back to the classroom, they got to have a mental brain break.
This is where students stand up and mirror a dance to a song the teacher projects. It was so much fun
because I got to see student's personalities come out through this.

expect it from, came over and gave me hand written, two page, note that talked about how great of a

Two Kinds, By Amy Tan
Reflection on Two Kinds the novel The Joy Luck Club, Amy Tan explores the relationship between

generation immigrants, and the daughters are born in America. The Joy Luck Club mothers come
from the Chinese traditional families when the dictatorial Chinese power is destroyed by the
Japanese insurgents in the 1940s. They escape from the political upheaval of China, but they don't

The Joy Luck Club presents many conflicts in the mother–daughter relationship. The conflicts are
embodied in 3 aspects. First, the mothers and the daughters are in different cultural backgrounds,
and the daughters cannot understand their mothers. At the beginning, Jing–Mei fears that she cannot
tell her mother's story to her half–sisters, which, in fact, reflects the fear of other daughters of the
Joy Luck Club members. They have identified themselves with Americans. Jing–Mei's fear also
reflects the mothers' common feelings. They offer the chance to go to America to their daughters,
and make them self–sufficient; they wonder whether they have their daughters away from tradition.
So in the story "The Joy Luck Club" Jing–Mei feels puzzled, "What will I say? What can I tell them
about my mother? I don't know anything." The way in which the mothers express their love cannot
be accepted by the daughters. Jing–Mei believes that her mother's constant blame is the embodiment
of lacking of affection. However, in fact, the mother's severity and high expectations are expressions

Key Club Research Paper
I am Abbey Nelson and I am interested in the position of Secretary/Treasurer of Key Club. To me,

Benefits Of A Hoodie
Clothing is mandatory in most places in the country. People often choose items they love, never
stopping to think about what their choices say about their personality. Don't let this happen. As many
places now offer custom printed items, a person can have an apparel item they love at less than what
they may imagine.
Printed hoodies remain a great way to stay warm when the weather turns cool. Why settle for a plain
hoodie, however, when a person can have one that truly reflects their interests and personalities?
Anyone can buy a hoodie with a brand name, but only a limited number of individuals will benefit
from wearing one with their school name or a club logo on it. This is a great way to show school
spirit when out and about, and the monies raised from the sale of these items will benefit the
organization hosting the drive. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In addition to students or members of the club, loved ones may also want to display their pride and
purchase a hoodie. As this item is so versatile, it will receive a great deal of use. The buyer can pair

the hoodie to the gym or an exercise class, and everyone will find it easy to pull a hoodie on when
they head out to run errands. As they go about the city or town, others will learn more about the
school or organization found on the shirt.
Printed hoodies help to raise awareness of the school or club and do so at a very affordable price.
Individuals love this item simply because they can wear the clothing and save on their apparel
budget. They know the item will be appreciated by the wearer, as it provides insight into what is
important to that individual. As mentioned above, items of this type tend to get a great deal of use.

Cotton Club Segregation
There is No Color in Music Throughout the 1920s, the U.S. was experiencing segregation with a
decay. African–Americans and Caucasians were split, and the social classes were divided by the
color of skin. Caucasians were automatically assumed to have a higher social standing than any
other ethnicity. This divide was everywhere– schools, housing, public amenities, and especially in
clubs. Nightclubs during the 1920s were booming, attracting large crowds promising entertainment
as they were practically invented in the 1920s. Before the idea of nightclubs men could find a bar or
a restaurant, however, women weren't allowed; so it came to no surprise as nightclubs started
opening on every other block. Even though the club scene throughout New York was very

My Volunteer Experience
For my volunteer experience I chose to volunteer at the Boys and Girls Club in Shelby. There I was
able to experience first hand, child development and how so many factors can impact a child's life.
Through this experience I was able to nurture my love for children and understand why I chose this

this experience. I decided to volunteer at the Boys and Girls Club because of my love of children. I
have always grown up in a large family with many siblings so I think that fostered my love for
younger children and when I entered college and got interested in psychology that just helped me
decide even more what I wanted to do. I decided to get more interested in children and psychology
after I took a class in child psychology and learning how a child develops. Through that class I

Why Do We Grow Up Differently

  • 1. Why Do We Grow Up Differently We all grow up differently. We have different parents, siblings, houses and experiences that shape us into the people we are today. We interact with different people and we watch those who are around us. Everyone can impact our life but it is you who chooses who. Everyone is different and I am no exception, this is who I am. I am one of the few people that get to experience having a twin. We were born in Springfield, Missouri on October 14th. I was 5 pounds and my sister, Mariah, was 4. We were a month premature so we had a few health problems. Mariah and I were both born with holes in our hearts. As we grew, the holes fixed themselves. Unfortunately, this was not the end. Mariah was kept in the ICU for a few months after we were born. When I was about 6–8 months old, I came down with whooping cough. I fought through and barely made it. I grew up in Marshfield. My favorite thing to do was read. I would read instead of watching tv or I would go outside and play with Mariah in the mud. When my brother, Jordan and my nephews and nieces started to be being born. I became a mother hen. This is where I believe my care and love for children came in. I love children. I love playing with them or taking care of them. As I grew up, my love for them continued. I was always wanting to babysit ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... She got me through the hard times in our childhood and I know that I can tell her anything. I always look up turns her and she helps me make the right decisions. • 3. Buck's Influence In The Call Of The Wild "Your circle of influence dictates your path." –John Bielecki. Influence others have can guide your life. In the book "Call of the Wild", Jack London uses the influence of masters. Buck is a pampered prince in Santa Clara Valley, in Judge Miller's house. One day, he is kidnapped and sold to be a sled dog. Buck met several masters, the man in the red sweater, Francois and Perrault, and John Thornton. All of them played a great role for Buck's rapid growth. Under the harsh environment of toiling, Buck gradually grew into an undefeatable, wild beast. Among his masters, Buck felt passionate love for him and Thornton. After Thornton's death Buck returns to the wild, but the trace of civilization left him brings him to the place where Thornton ... The Indians called him a ghost dog because he was a powerful wolf who came to the place where Thornton died every year. This was because Buck felt the passionate love for him and Thornton. This club is art history majors that get together and attend and plan events that involve our interest in the history of art. This organization is full of art, art history and history majors, but they are accepting anyone who loves art. "Anybody can join," Secretary Morgan Schrock says. "We accept anyone who loves art, museums and fun." The club faded out last year due to the lack of members, but their goal this year is to gain more members and get the club back to the top. • 11. Benefits Of Art Club In School Does your school offer a variety of clubs, classes, and activities? Most schools do. Some clubs at my school are Nerd Herd, Theater club, French club, and art club. Some of the classes are drama, art, Spanish, French, and career investigation. Some activities are soccer, basketball, football, and school dances. One of these that students enjoy is art club. Students enjoy art club because it's fun, it's a stress reliever, and they get to hang out with friends. Students enjoy art club because it's fun. One way that art club is fun is that students get to do whatever they want, on certain projects. A way that students get to do whatever they want is that they may put flowers on their project and someone else may put robots on theirs. There are really cool projects to do, and if students like art than they'll love to do these projects! One of these projects is ice dyeing. Last year in art club we ice dyed T– shirts and pillowcases. Ice dying is like tie dying, in the way that they both diy the fabric, and students certainly don't diy anything in a regular art class. Another example is a chalk board. Last year in art club we made small chalk boards with whatever we wanted on them. None of the chalk boards were the same, they were all different. Some of them had flowers while others were stained. The last reason why art club is fun is that last year we had a party at the beginning and end of the year. At the meeting before each party each student signed up to bring in a type of ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 13. Plunging The Joy Luck Club by Amt Tan Essay The Joy Luck Club (1985) was written by Amy Tan (1952). The Joy Luck Club is the story of a Chinese mother who leaves everything behind, a mother who leaves her family in China in order to get her children (in this case our protagonist June) a better life. Or as Amy Tan says: "The Joy Luck Club, about a woman whose mother has just died and who regrets that she never knew who she truly was. The stories poured out. They were what I felt and had to say before it was too late. I had found my reason to write." (http://www.theguardian.com/books/2013/nov/19/amy–tan–joy–luck–club– guardian–book–club) The Joy Luck Club is the story of a Chinese mother who leaves everything behind but it is also the story of a Chinese–American woman who realises in a ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The story of the swan (we can read it on Feathers from a Thousand LI Away) is very meaningful. The American Dream changes between the generations. For the mothers, it is creating a future full of privilege and success. For the daughters, it is the freedom to take their opportunities and do with them as little or as much as they want. The daughters' American ness is reflected most strongly in their relationships with men. Ted, Harold, and especially Rich, represent the American part of their wives, which for the mothers seems frighteningly disconnected from Chinese thinking. Suyuan wants Jing–Mei to be the perfect American girl like Shirley Temple, but resents how little Jing–Mei understands about Chinese culture. As Lindo Jong explains, these are the perils of being "two– faced." Fitting in one place means not fitting in somewhere else, and the challenge for Chinese– American women is to find a balance that honours both cultures. Another very important subject is that which talks about love and marriages. On the one side we have the mothers who thought that love and marriage are not always holding hands. That is, a wife sometimes has to do things although she doesn't want to. We come back to role of the submissive woman. On the other hand we have the daughters, who believe that they have the right to find true love and to get married and if they marry, they have the right to be themselves and not what their husbands or the ... • 15. Adolescence And Emerging Adulthood : The Breakfast Club Released in 1985, The Breakfast Club depicts five high school students from Illinois as they spend a Saturday together in detention. Prior to their arrival, John Bender, Claire Standish, Andy Clark, Brian Johnson, and Allison Reynolds had not met, nor would they have associated with one another on a typical day in high school. After spending nine hours together, however, the group of vastly different adolescents break down emotional barriers, manage to build a sense of intimacy, and some establish dating relationships by the day's end (Hughes et al., 1985). The film illustrated a rather realistic portrait of adolescence in several topical domains. The Film's Portrayal of Adolescence The authors of The Breakfast Club produced a ... Second, while discussing her attitude, Claire discloses feeling substantial pressure from her friends, admitting that she hates doing what they say (Hughes et al., 1985). This is a realistic example of how clique member's ensure conformity and strengthen cohesiveness (Arnett 2013). The Self Compared to concrete thinking in childhood, adolescents' thinking becomes much more abstract. This enables them to partake in self–conception; differentiating between who they are and who they may become in the future (Arnett, 2013). This developmental milestone is presented in The Breakfast Club when the five teens are sitting on the floor, discussing their insecurities. Andrew asks the group, with a horrified expression, if they are going to be like their parents. Claire answers with certainty that she will not (Hughes, et al., 1985). As they imagine their future selves like their parents, they are conceptualizing their feared selves (Arnett, 2013). Andrew also speaks of the false self he presents to make his father proud. This is shown as he admits that the physical pain and humiliation he caused a peer was not something he wanted to do, though he knew it was an action for which his father would praise him (Hughes et al., 1985). According to Arnett (2013), it is during the period of adolescence that teenagers recognize the false selves they present and that their false selves are contrary to their actual feelings and thoughts. Maribella made a big mistake but Jaime forgave her because he knew she did it for a good reason and not for the fun of it. I love people like this because it shows that those people try to find the good in everyone. A reason I like Penelope is because she is so sweet to everyone and she has a very big heart. • 25. Soccer : The Causes Of Social Class In Soccer Social class is something that has been promoting tribalism for centuries. Lower income classes would join together to fight for an equal purpose. However, in recent days, we rarely see people going against one another in violent acts due to difference in social class; but that is only true for people outside the soccer world. Seweryn Dmowski explores the rivalry between Sevilla Fc and Real Betis, two of the main clubs in the city of Seville, Spain. Sevilla was created in 1905, being one of the most successful clubs in its country. Four years later, several players left the club to create their own one: Real Betis. Betis represents until today the poorer class in Seville, whereas Sevilla FC is the club supported mainly by middle or high income citizens of the city. Both clubs created what is considered one of the biggest rivalries in the country. Due to the difference in social class, not only fans, but players developed hatred for one another, causing riots between fans, violence during the match, and even a pitch invasion by a Sevilla fan to attack Betis' goalkeeper. Another issue explored in the article is the effect of difference in language . This issue may not be something that would generate rivalry between two groups, but again, only if the issue does not involve soccer. Belgium is divided into two parts, the Dutch and French speaking. The language difference in the country represents more than language normally does. However, it is not an issue that regularly ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

It was hard being the youngest and the only girl, but I got used to being spoiled by all the love that came from the elders of the family. I was lucky enough to make it this far without ever having to face a major conflict when it came to my culture or nationality. Although the people around me were fascinated by who I was, I was embarrassed. I felt like I had to live a dual life where I was one person at home and another at school. It wasn't until my sophomore year of high school that I finally began to accept who I was and love myself for it. I am writing to you today concerning the matter of students having to receive a B average or higher in order to participate in clubs or sports. In my school I already see such a matter going on. If students don't maintain a certain grade they are put on something called a sports leave or sports tutoring. This is so the players can get their grade up so that they can continue to play on the team. I strongly believe that this is unfair because for one it is hard for someone to get used to multitasking I can speak on this myself. You might say its' something one person can get used to but this is not true, not everyone can get used to something like that. Secondly, there are kids who play sports that may have learning disabilities, there should be exceptions for students like that. Lastly, academics do come first but, I believe that sports and clubs are some of the reasons students look forward to coming to school. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Analysis Of Ansel Adams: A Picture Is Worth A Thousand Words Ansel Adams: A Picture is Worth a Thousand Words On February twentieth, in the year 1902, San Francisco, California became the birth place of one of the greatest artists and environmentalists in American history: Ansel Adams. Growing up in a relatively poor family, Adam's childhood was marked with many difficulties. Despite that fact, his father, "Charles H. Adams,... who in his own youth had been discouraged from following a passionate love of nature and science, was determined that his son would be free to follow his own interests, wherever they might lead" (Turnage 1). One of those passions was music, which later served him in expressing his art. However, another, stronger passion was his love of nature, which stemmed from his childhood that was spent in the sand dunes near the Golden gate and the mountains of the Sierra Nevada. However, Adams faced criticism and struggled with each noble act he committed. In the simplest terms, Adams was a true conservationist. He wanted to preserve not only the physical land, but its wild, pristine spirit. He feared, as many environmentalists now fear, that the parks would become "'loved to death' by backpackers and other visitors, through sheer weight of numbers" (Turnage 5). Perhaps, his belief that the parks should be left alone accounts for the reason why he never photographed any people in his scenery, a criticism his works face today. However, Ansel Adams took pictures worthy of the words of such legendary writers as Rachel Carson or Ed Abbey. His art was fundamental to the success and expansion of the environmental movement. As truly heroic deeds are never forgotten, Ansel Adams' voice, art, mission, and passion will continue to captivate audiences and motivate Americans to protect their environment in every ... • 49. The Difference Between Love And Lust What is the difference between love and lust? According to the dictionary, love is a feeling of strong and constant affection for a person. On the other hand, lust is a strong sexual desire for another ("Merriam–Webster"). The definitions of love and lust are complete opposites. Love is a constant feeling, while lust is impermanent. Yet, the two are always confused between people. This is because of the word "strong" in both of the definitions. When a person is deeply in love or is consumed by lust, the feelings are both strong. Therefore, it is sometimes challenging to differentiate. Banksy, a well–known street artist, realized the problem with love and lust, and decided to teach people a lesson by painting a piece of street art called "Waiting in Vain...at the Door of the Club." Banksy is a very renowned street artist who keeps his identity unknown. His artwork is portrayed by "striking images, often combined with slogans, [which] engages political themes, satirically critiquing war, capitalism, hypocrisy and greed" ("Banksy Biography"). He first started his bold street art in Bristol, his hometown located in London, but quickly spread to the United States of America. In the U.S., Banksy targeted the most populated cities; this was due to the fact that it was easier for him to spread his messages. With a crowded location, his lessons will extent over an audience much quicker. One of the most popular places where Banksy's art fills the streets is New York City, which was ... What Is The First Rule Of Fight Club FIGHT CLUB Tiffany Constant ECPI University Fight Club is about a man and his "friend" finding a different way of dealing with their problems other than traditional therapy, by resorting to the most primal way they know how to; fighting. The movie starts off with main character, Jack, stating that it's been six months since he has been able to sleep. That right there tells me that is something mentally off about him. It makes me wonder if anything is real or what is being imagined by Jack. Jack eventually "meets" Tyler while flying back home from a business trip. When Jack arrives home he sees that his apartment, along with all of his stuff, has blown up. Jack calls Tyler, they go out for beers and Jack keeps talking about how all his stuff is gone. He states that his possessions complete him. When they leave the bar Tyler asks Jack to punch him, he does and fight club begins that night. They also are afraid to love in hopes of becoming vulnerable. Palahniuk wrote, 'This isn't about love in caring. This is about property as in ownership" (Palahniuk 14). This view of love is not positive, as it is used to control others. However, there is irony within this because none of the characters within the novel want to be controlled.
