Ring of Fire by Johnny Cash – "Love is a burning thing and it makes a fiery ring."
CHARACTER SECRET:
Carl B. Kennedy (Roland's father) established Kennedy Enterprises in the summer of 1967. Since
then, it has flourished into the multi billion dollar company it is today. The company is known to
specialize in pharmaceuticals, biotechnology, electronics and much more. Soon after Roland
graduated college, it was announced that Carl would be selling the company to another corporation,
but Roland, who had been working to take over the company, was not about to let his future be sold
to the highest bidder. When talking sense into his father failed to work, he decided to take other

It was not the first time his company had been subject to slander and it would not be the last.
However, these types of articles always managed to cause a lasting sense of utter irritation. He
despised the writers behind these fictitious tales of gossip. When it came to Kennedy Enterprises, it
was a true rarity when newspapers reported anything that pertained to the actual truth. This
particular article focused on KE pharmaceuticals 'Kennedy pharmaceuticals tied to almost 20,000

The Serpent Labret With Articulated Tongue
The Serpent is very small, not a full length scale of a serpent; the serpent is in a 's' shape position
that ends where the shoulder of the snake would be.The tongue is long . There's a small cut at the
bottom of the tongue, making it look like there are two tongues. The snake is in a position that is
ready to attack by displaying all eighteen sharp teeth– the teeth near the middle are bigger in width
in comparison to the side teeth and are shaped like a crescent moon. The nose of the serpent pops up
with a bulge. The eyes are on the side and are almond shaped. At the end of this shoulder , there's a
sideways thimble–like shape. At the beginning, there is a many beads that go around. Then there is a
false filigree. Both the thimble like shape ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Primary Color Reflection
Jack Stanton in the movie Primary Colors reminded me a lot of President Bill Clinton. The way he
talked and his demeanor, and his charisma. After researching this movie I see that it is loosely based
on Bill Clinton's first presidential campaign in 1992. (Movie Primary Colors, 2013) The movie starts
with Governor Jack Stanton meeting with an adult literacy class. There is an adult student there that
gives a touching speech about his graduation day. He did not know how to read and he was not able
to graduate. His classmates snickered and laughed. He was humiliated and he felt so bad for his
mom to miss work and see this. Henry is the grandson of a civil rights leader. Governor Stanton
wanted Henry to be part of his staff. Henry is still trying to decide if he will be joining this team as
the campaign manager. He sees how Governor Stanton is weeping with no shame. He sees this as a
good quality in Governor Stanton. Henry contemplates if he wants to be on Governor Stanton team.
Governor Jack Stanton gives a speech about his uncle that served the World War II and how he won
a medal of honor. Several different companies and schools approached him with several different
opportunities when he returned home from the war. He did not accept any of the offers because he
was too ashamed to ask for help and be taught how to read. Governor Stanton spends his time with
the adult literacy class because he feels that he is able to see courage in those people that have asked

Stink Fish
Street art is commonly seen all over the world, and you can often see this form of art on downtown
building walls. This street painting by Stinkfish, a Colombian street artist, delivers a colorful piece
of art for the public to see. Stinkfish did not give a name to this piece because he selects random
spots to create his masterpieces. The painting is a girl's side profile view of her face and head. The
view beside the face has many colorful shapes and figures that can symbolize many things
happening in her head all the time. There is one simple side of this artwork which is the girl's face.
The more vibrant side of this artwork can be viewed as what is painted beside the face, which is
filled with many colors and different shapes. These colors ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

Looking at the top of the face, viewers can see one large eye and a tiny bit of the other eye. The eye
is mostly black, filled with a little white in the center to make it clear to viewers that this is an eye.
Moving down the face is a good–sized nose that is yellow and black for viewers to see it is a nose,
along with a mouth that is mostly dark and difficult to distinguish. Near the eye and mouth are pink
colored, flower petal shapes. This is the only bright color that is on this side of the painting, other
than the yellow face, the small amount of white, and the black shadows on the face. Also, near the
eye, are small, yellow dots that seem to be coming out of the other eye. This side of the painting is
quite simple compared to the other side considering it lacks color. This part of the piece reminds me
of a girl who goes everyday without expressing who she truly is. The face in this painting looks sad
and straight–faced as if something is wrong. The face is much different from what is portrayed to
left of the face. This image makes me think that this girl has so much inside her, but is not able to
express herself because she may be afraid to do so. The yellow, small dots that are coming from her
eye make me think that this is the only way she is expressing herself, and that only a tiny bit of her
personality comes out when she is near others. Where the yellow dots go back

Personal Narrative: Stable Acres
Far down a dusty highway sat a quaint little neighborhood in the rural sides of Indiana. This
suburban edition went by the title of Stable Acres. The roads were old and scared with lines of tar
and gravel to fill the streets riddled with potholes. The thin asphalt path snaked around trees and
other houses. In my grey suede car seat, I could feel our maroon car, with interior the color of sand,
come to a smooth complete stop. Outside there was a house painted a deep rich red and a concrete
driveway that was also very tan. Past the windows you could see dainty ivory lace curtains that kept
out the harsh sunlight. Suddenly, my car door would be opened, and my mother would place my one
hand into my second home, my grandmother. There was

Girl Monologue
Before she hung up the phone last night she gave me her address and told me to text her when I was
leaving Dinah's house. I woke up the next morning with Ally's head nuzzled into my neck with her
arms and legs wrapped around me protectively, Dinah and Normani's head on my back with their
arms comfortably wrapped around my waist, and Pia's head at my feet hugging my legs. I was
wrapped in a human blanket of love, these girls have been with me through everything, they stuck
by my side when no one else would, helped me up when I fell or when someone pushed me down,
held my hand when I was scared, like now. I love these girls, I would die for them and they would

walking over to me and giving a weak smile before getting into my car. The ride to the hospital was
as awkward as the greeting. I looked over at me every once in awhile to see if she was ok, and a few
times I tried to talk to her, but she would just glare at me and shoot down any attempts I made to
start a conversation. I don't think she meant to be rude, she just has a lot going on in her head that
she's trying to figure out. I saw a tear roll down her cheek so I put my hand in hers, letting her know

Avocado Research Paper
Finally, Our Favorite: The Avocado!
avocado
What's so amazing about the avocado, you ask? Have a quick look:
Protein: Proteins are made of amino acids. There are 22 different amino acids that combine in
various sequences to form all proteins. The human body is capable of manufacturing some of these
amino acids, but the remaining ones must be obtained through the diet. These amino acids are called
the "essential amino acids". The avocado is a "complete food" in terms of protein, containing all 8
essential amino acids.
Fiber: The avocado contains large amounts of both soluble and insoluble fiber. These fibers are
important for overall digestive health because they work together to prevent problems and to keep
things moving smoothly. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Lutein is an antioxidant that is great for the eyes. It helps to prevent cataract and macular
degeneration.
Oleic Acid: The avocado is high in oleic acid, which has been shown to prevent breast cancer in
numerous studies.
Beta–sitosterol: The avocado is high in beta–sitosterol, which is a compound that is shown to lower
cholesterol levels.
Folate: Many of folate's healthful properties help women specifically. It's particularly important for
pregnant woman to get enough folate to keep the fetus healthy. It also seems to prevent cancer of the
cervix. One cup of avocado has 23% of the recommended daily intake value of folate.
Magnesium: The avocado is a good source of magnesium. Magnesium is vital for good health.Every
organ in the body, especially the heart, muscles, and kidneys, needs the mineral magnesium. It also
contributes to the makeup of teeth and bones.
Glutathione: The avocado contains glutathione, which is an important antioxidant that researchers
say is important in preventing aging, cancer, and heart disease.
Vitamin E: The avocado is the best fruit source of vitamin E, an essential vitamin that protects
against many diseases and helps maintain overall

Bisbee is a small town 92 miles SE from Tucson Az. This little town is known for a couple of names
a mining town and a ghost town. It was given its name in honor of the honorable judge who went by
the name De Witt Bisbee. I have many stories I can talk about my little town but if I did I could just
create an entire story book for you, but one of the stories I like the most is one of the memorable
ones when I was younger. Me and my cousins would wander the streets of Bisbee's ditches
collecting crawdads also known as crayfish and tadpoles just for the fun of it. We would put them in
a tank to watch them grow, but neither me nor my cousins knew much about caring for these
animals. We knew more how to care for dogs or cats. So eventually they

Food Chains Lab Report
n this lab we learned about the food chains and relationships between organisms in an ecosystem.
We did this by playing a card game where we connected different organisms in a specific ecosystem
to organisms in their food web. Each player was given three different cards. Each card contained a
different organism from a different ecosystems including marine, desert, forest, and freshwater. The
dealer would then place a card face up. Based on our cards we would bet chips each of different
colors, red 10 pts, green 5 pts, blue 1pt. The dealer would place a total of 4 cards facing up and in
between we would have to bet chips based on how we thought our cards were. Our goal was to try
and create as many feeding relationships or food chains as possible

better not be doing magic" or something like that and he stopped and looked away, then he said a
couple magic words waving his wand but the magic directed to a little person thingy behind and

Jane Smiley Trent's Attractions: A Narrative Fiction
Jane parked Trent's car and climbed out, taking a moment to look around. It wasn't the best
neighborhood in Lawndale. Not bad by any means, but not as nice as Daria's. It certainly wasn't
where she expected a fashion princess to live. Stacy's home was average for the neighborhood, a
modest two story house painted a soft blue; it was set apart by a beautifully manicured lawn with
flowering bushes lining the front of the house and a pair of small, well groomed trees in the yard. It
didn't suit a fashion princess, but it seemed to suit the girl she'd been getting to know the past week.
Jane reminded herself again to try not to freak Stacy out and headed up the walk. She knocked on
the door and, after a short wait, a woman who looked to ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

nice and encouraging. More than anything else though, she talks about your art. She goes on and on
about how amazing it is." Jane smiled a bit at that last part. Stacy had been looking through her
sketchbooks while they worked on the designs. Jane had thought it would be good for a laugh when
the younger girl freaked out, but she actually seemed to get a lot of it. Coming back to the
conversation, Jane asked, "You two talk a lot, huh?" Mrs. Rowe shrugged. "I guess. I like to think
we have a pretty good relationship." Jane thought of her own mother and smiled bitterly. Mrs. Rowe
seemed to notice Jane's preoccupation and changed the subject. "Thank you for staying after to work
with her. I'm sure that budget hoarding Li isn't paying you for it." Jane chastised herself getting
distracted like that, then collected herself and shrugged. "I'm used to spending my own money on art
projects, so getting paid at all is a plus. Working late's hardly anything new either. I'm actually glad,
Stacy really saved me. If it weren't for her I think all our actor's would be wearing burlap

Analysis of Primary Colors
Politics is a bloodsport, one big game of corruption, muckraking, prostitution, and defilement, which
is played by the politicians, the media, and the seemingly innocent public that tends to forget that
politicians are humans also, no better than the masses except for one thing, the ability to play the
game. Primary Colors by Anonymous portrays this fraudulent game perfectly, exhibiting all of the
dark aspects of a political campaign: from the vicious media in their pursuit of scandals, to the
traitorousness of opposing candidates to destroy each other, all the way to the secretive sexual
interactions taking place during the campaigning process. Yet in this vice–corrupted novel,
Anonymous also manages to let the human side of the tainted ... Show more content on

For example, he remembers the promise that he made to "Fat Willie" about having him open a
branch of his restaurant up in the capitol (214). But on the overall it is Stanton's genius that allows
the people to relate to him, he lets them know that he associates with the problems they have and
that he really cares about those problems (44), that is a noteworthy feature of his. With Freddy
Picker, it is his honesty to the voters––to the American public, admitting the mistakes he had made
in the past and confessing that he is "not qualified to even pretend to run for the presidency," (501)
what highlights his nobleness and shows how dedicated he is to the masses. The truism of the
unscrupulous game of politics is that one has to love the game dearly in order to succeed in it and be
a good, noble politician. Picker does love the game, he does it "for the pleasure of the challenge"
(486), but he plays for himself, and not for the public, which is a dangerous thing (486). His
addiction to the political game as well as drugs made him quit the first time in 1978, and it is his
addiction and not his love for the game that makes him crumble under the pressure of the present
campaign. Picker avoids the game while campaigning against Stanton, and everyone on the Stanton
campaign notices it, especially Jack himself: "He isn't playing the game at all, not in any way He's
not going to be able to

About a mile and a half up from where they were camped, she came to a spot where the river
crossed the road; what appeared to be a structure of some sort, maybe a covered bridge or

Seeing the water over the road, Charity gauged the depth of the rising river, by marking a spot on
the structure with a tree on shore. From living along the Savannah, she knew that once the river
crested, it would eventually begin to recede. How long that took; depended on how much rain had
fallen upriver. She decided she would ride back up there later that afternoon to see how much higher
the water had risen, or hopefully, it would be receding by then.
Riding back to camp, she saw fresh tracks, where deer had crossed the road. She would come back
later and see if she could kill one. If so, it would supply them with meat for a long while if she could

Personal Narrative-Paideia Research Paper
As it melts in a small saucepan over the flame of the sideburner of the grill in my backyard, it takes
on a swirling chromatic luster, like a reflective puddle of gasoline, until all four pounds have be en
converted into liquid. It had arrived in my mailbox as two unassuming hunks of gray metal. The
original brick must have cracked during transit because the metal exposed along the jigsaw split was
bright silver, not the duller shade of the top and bottom faces. My friends and I had no practical
intentions, however, we were at the start of a pretty cool project, and one I would like to share as my
topic for Paideia. Bismuth, the eighty third element on the periodic table, is a gray, negligibly
radioactive metal that is slightly less dense than silver. You've probably seen it, sitting idly inside
small bins in museum gift shops, or hanging on earrings, necklaces, or bracelets, or even in a brand
of over the counter gastrointestinal aids. In most of these contexts, it takes the form of intricate
geometric crystals, in "stairstep" patterns of inlaid ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Bismuth's melting point – 271°C – is low enough that it can be easily melted over a stove or hot
plate, or a sideburner, in our case. After it melted completely, we skimmed the impurities, now
floating, from the surface of the liquid, and watched as a thin layer of oxide formed over the
exposed plane of molten metal. We turned of the heat, and waited for the metal to begin solidifying.
Five minutes elapsed, and the bismuth resembled the cracked surface of a frozen pond. At that point.
the crystals were mostly formed, almost touching the bottom of the pan. We had to jostle the floating
sheet with a fork to prevent them from setting completely, which would render them impossible to
remove cleanly (but we had to be cautious not to damage or further fragment the crystals that are

My Primary Color Is Gold And Secondary Color Type Is Green
My primary color is Gold and secondary color type is Green. I do agree with the results from the
Color Q Self Assessment. From reading more in depth about the color Gold and Green from "Career
Match" by, Zichy Shoya. I do, agree with the results that Gold reflects on being "Grounded, realistic
and accountable." (Shoya,2007) Also, Gold is known for being involved in details and are known
for following through and mobilizing others to achieve their goals. Being Gold comes with skills of
making lists, planning in advance and dealing with what has worked in the past. After realizing how
this color does reflect who, I am as a young adult. Being a young adult comes with responsibility of
being realistic with my actions. And, to being accountable for what I do. Before, I attended Post

Clear Hair Care Advertisement Analysis
This full–page Clear Hair Care advertisement was found in Google Images; this image appeals to
consumers by the huge "D_CK" which is thought to spell out dick. The technique was to attract the
attention of those with a "dirty" mindset. The advertistment's purpose was to have the consumers use
the product to clean their "dirty" minds. The advertisement's primary colors consists of black and
gray which drags the consumer's eyes toward the yellow duck. The targeted audiences for this
advertisement are teenagers, young adults between 20–30 years old, and hairstylists.
The Clear Hair Care advertisement is a rectangular shape with a gray background. Across the top
left corner "D_CK" is typed in a big bold, black print. Just under it "NOPE. ... Show more content

Again, they will be attracted towards the "D_CK" due to the inappropriateness. Similar to the
teenagers, they will be attracted towards the humor of the post. The humor of the advertisement can
eventually convince the consumers to buy the products. Unlike teenagers who sometimes do not feel
as if certain shampoo brands matter, young adults might invest in trying out new products.
Another target audience that this advertisement attract are hairstylists. Hairstylists are always on the
move to find new products to try out on their clients. They often go through different products to
find the one that would keep their client's hair shiny and healthy. Due to their on the go jobs, they
can often find hair advertisements in the hair magazines they carry. Hairstylists often have an impact

Primary Colors Essay
The film, Primary Colors, directed by Mike Nichols, is based on a novel about Bill Clinton's first
campaign in 1992. Jack Stanton, who portrays Bill Clinton in the film, is a charismatic Southern
governor running for presidency and is trying to win the votes of America. Henry Burton, a young
political idealist, is recruited to join Jack's campaign team. Along the way, Jack runs into problems
regarding his image. Trying not to lose the votes of America, Jack and his wife Susan hire Libby,
who is an old friend of theirs, to help cover up the rumors that are being spread around. The majority
of Jack's campaign team believes in him enough to continue to work for him and cover up his image

She is the background researcher and the rumor cover up–er. She is seen doing things above and
beyond what Jack has asked of her even if she knows it is wrong. For example, the recording
between Jack and Cashmere is fake, but Jack is still worried meaning he has something to be afraid
of which implies that he is guilty. Even though Libby knows Jack is guilty of something, she has to
figure out who put the tape together and get the creator to confess to making the tape. This shows
that she is a utilitarian because she knows that it is wrong, but she cannot let the citizens of America
change their minds about Jack so she tries and protects him. Near the end of the film, it is clear that
Libby is and always will be a deontologist. After she investigates about Picker, she did not want to
expose him. Libby even went as far as to taking out old pictures of Jack and Susan when they were
deontologists to try and convince Susan not to expose Picker. Libby threatens to destroy Jack's
campaign if Picker's history gets revealed because she did not want to hurt anyone intentionally
which is a clear indication of a deontologist thinker. Jack's campaign is twisting her deontologist
morals and beliefs so much that she could not bear to live with that, so she takes her own

A Raisin In The Sun Literary Analysis
The set of A Raisin In The Sun will accomplish telling the story about their dreams through the
objects in the house being well maintained. This does not mean that everything is brand new, in fact,
it is quite the opposite. To showcase this a variety of objects are acceptable, however the couch and
rug are primary examples. The rug would be impeccable without a spot of dirt, but would have worn
spots and faded patches. The couch must appear well maintained, however, would sag slightly in the
middle and have discolored spots from years of use. Other details to add are small dents in the
doorframe or scratches on the wall. Small things that the audience probably has in their own house
that have long stories behind them For the first act of Clybourn

The two girls who walked out of the house several steps away from each other looked on the verge
of having a hair pulling contest against one another. It was a surprise not to see a trail of blood

looked sternly at both girls and they stop their silent bickering and straighten up. "Ladies and

said Tenia loftily, with a smug look in Paisley's direction, "it would seem you have forgotten to say

Libro Legis: A Short Story
Upon entry through the threshold of the bubbling slate grey front door of my run–down, colonial
style home into the marshmallow warmth of the living room, all was silent except for the crackling
of dying embers breathing their last breath in the soot covered 1991 Jotul wood burning stove. The
family room remained just as it had been left with not a single object disturbed in the time passed.
The walls were still the same shade of elephant skin gray that they had been for the past ten years, as
were the worn midnight black sofas. Even the cherry red microfiber dog toy remained sprawled out
in the same position; forgotten. The chestnut coffee table, around which the room was center was
still covered with the defined creases of my palm engraved into it. However, among the coffee table,
I caught a glimpse of something peculiar out of the corner of my eye. The usually neat pile of select
magazine and newspaper articles had the edge ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

reached down to pick up one of the crumpled newspapers at my feet and realized that on the front
page of the issue was a column about a recent law testimony regarding a burning of a house only a
few towns away. The case was fought between lawyer Diana Stewart (a women whom I had worked

length of a desert tortoise is about 10 to 14 inches long, although the males do grow slightly longer
on average. Hatchlings are only 2 to 2 1/2 inches. A desert tortoise has a unique shape, and can't be

The desert tortoise is widely spread across the Mojave desert and Sonoran desert of the
southwestern United States and the northwestern part of Mexico, especially the Sinaloan thornscrub,
western Arizona, southeastern California, southern Nevada and southwestern Utah. Desert tortoise
inhabits areas covered with creosote bushes, rocky canyons, semi–arid grasslands and hillsides. It
usually lives on the altitude of 1000 to 3000 feet, but it can survive even on the elevation of 5000
feet. Some even live in Death Valley. No other type of tortoise faces the same kind of extreme
conditions due to habitat that the desert tortoise does. The extremely high and low temperatures
force the desert tortoise to adapt. To survive in the harsh desert climate, the tortoise estivates
(remains underground in its burrow) during the hottest times of the day in the summer and
hibernates (sleeps underground in its burrow) through the winter. Tortoises come out in the spring to
eat grasses and wildflowers and drink water from the spring rains. They store water within
themselves and use it through the dry months while water is not available. In the spring, they

Baseball Ball Monologue
It is a cold grey afternoon with a dull sky and ragged clouds. The last leaf on the tree was finally
blown off by the wind, the leaves crunched beneath your feet as you walk on it. The awful smell of
dried leaves filled the air and out in the distance, the leafless tree's branches wobbled around as the
wind pushed and blow them around. The dark clouds look furious but me and my younger brother,
Allie are happy as hell. We just got a new baseball ball gifted from my older brother, D.B. We start
enjoying and playing some baseball throws. As I take a step and throw the ball, the scarlet and gold
leaves get crunched. The wide ground is lit by some rays, shining through a thin layer of grey cloud

mental soup of conflicting instructions as I race towards him. The panic in my brain increases as the
raindrops falls slowly on his body. Frozen in panic and shrill scream in my brain as I hold Allie's
body, as he lay breathless and still. Gasps, murmurs from the crowd, breaks my panic. Then medics
plough through the crowd and with precision put Allie on oxygen and wheel his motionless body
away. It feels as though walls are closing in on me, as I try to block out the vicious stares of all the
phonies in the crowd. As the ambulance disappears I feel Allie is going far away from me just like
those red leaves, falling from the trees sway gently in the autumn wind. My mother and my father,
later, walks towards me filled with panic and turns to me, demanding an answer to a question I

study was to look at three different specimens of Paranthropus robustus that had not been examined

Corn Kernels
The phenotypes for the ear of corn observed, consisted of 192 purple kernels and 66 yellow kernels.
When reduced, the actual phenotypic ratio for this monohybrid cross was 32:11 (32 purple and 11
yellow). It matches the predicted phenotypic ratio of 3:1 (3 purple versus 1 yellow). If 3 and 1 were
multiplied by three, the predicted phenotypic ratio would be 33:11, resulting in our ear of corn,
being off by only 1 purple kernel.
The ear of corn labelled G, had 291 corn kernels total for the 6 rows. There were 168 purple–smooth
corn kernels, 54 purple–wrinkled kernels, 49 yellow–smooth kernels, and 20 yellow–wrinkled
kernels. The actual phenotypic ratio for this dihybrid cross is 168:54:49:20. No common factor can
go into all four numbers, so it cannot be reduced.
The chi–square value for the data from the dihybrid cross was 0.993. The data supports the
prediction. We fail to reject the null hypothesis. There is around an 80% chance (p=0.80) that a fair
corn would yield the observed results. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Our hypothesis was that there would be no difference between the actual phenotypic ratio and

common, followed by purple–wrinkled and yellow–smooth corn kernels, with yellow–wrinkled corn
kernels appearing the least. The corn kernels appeared in this pattern because the corn kernel with
two dominant traits (purple being the dominant color, along with smooth being the dominant
texture) would take precedence over the recessive yellow color and wrinkled

Descriptive Essay: Anna Warick's Home
The buildings sat vacant for many years since its previous owner had occupied the property. The
owner I speak of was, Anna Warick, a feeble women who had aged before her time. Her face and
body were aged beyond that of others near her age of 60. Her life had led her down a path of
loneliness and solitude. She had no known family and little to no acquaintances, much less friends.
Without anyone around and having a feeble body, her home and its grounds had become dilapidated,
over run with vines and wildly growing plants. Cracks had begun to show on all the walls and the
windows were boarded up from the previous neglect. The house and its surrounding buildings were
sold to the highest bidders at an auction in the late fall of last year.
When the new owners began restoration on the home they went through the property, slowly
combing through all the artifacts of a hidden life. At last they made their way to the garage. The
facade was the worst of all the buildings. The roof barely left intact. A partially rotten wooden
garage door was blocking the entrance. Upon opening the door, a sever stench overwhelmed the new
occupants. The odor was that of death. The walls were a slight off white color. A rug partially
covered the old dark wooden floors. A table, made of steel, sat in the middle of the room atop the
rug. Cabinets lined one wall from ceiling to floor. In the cabinets the things that were found were

part where the soldiers will sit and up on the balconies where several armed soldiers were posted.
The room looked sterile and the middle part of the room is surrounded by thick glass that separated
it from the rest of the room. The darkness of the room, covered whatever it was beyond the thick

Phenotypes In Animals Lab Report
Introduction A study was created on the difference between phenotypes in corn stalks. We planted
corn seeds to see what phenotype they would result in and record the data. Using statistical analysis,
we determined the expected and observed color of the stalks. There were some green and white. The
ratio we tested was 3:1, a monohybrid cross. This means the dominant trait is present 3 times, and
the recessive only one (NDSU 2000). The objective of this study was to compare our expected and
observed phenotypes between corn plants.
Methods Our methods were fairly simple. To make sure our results were accurate, we used three
plant pots to plant our seeds. We labeled the pots with our names and their cross numbers. Filling
the pots with soil, we made sure it was damp and not wet by squeezing the soil out and packing it in
the pot about half way. Then, we planted five seeds and spread them out, so they had room to grow.
Lastly, we covered the seeds with more soil, also packing it lightly but tightly. After the plants grew,
we examined and determined that our hypothesized ratio was 3:1 with a sample size of 38. Our
phenotypes were green and white. We used a Chi–square analysis to determine our hypothesis. Null
hypothesis: There is no difference in phenotypes between corn plants. Our alternate hypothesis was
that there is a difference in phenotypes between corn plants.

Wakefield Family Cabin Essay
The Wakefield family cabin sits on a flat, level piece of land that is inconsistent with the small
rolling hills, timber and corn field that our cabin and it's ½ acre manicured lawn sits waiting for our
family. The nearest road is a narrow gravel road that is not visible from the entrance to our property
at any time of year. In fact, the only piece of the cabin that can be seen from the gravel is the
streetlight placed in the northwest corner of the property to illuminate parking and the front gate,
furthermore can only be seen from the top of a nearby hill. About fifty yards from the cabin is the
Wapsipinicon River flowing through the landscape to the West, running behind the cabin and
disappearing deep into the woods. A five–minute walk over one steep hill, another easier hill, and
some unpleasant vegetation, is a large untouched sandbar. This area is the payoff for the hard work it
takes to get to this picturesque piece of Earth. The Wapsi is usually shallow here, as long as it isn't
flooded, also the sandbar in the middle is exposed when it's ideal to swim or play in the water.

  • 1. Ring Of Fire Case Roland lives in an elegant six bedroom colonial–style mansion located in the Riverdale area. It had an open floor plan with hardwood flooring throughout the entire house. Every room is furnished with only the latest sophisticated decor. Outside, the home sits on two acres with exceptional views of the Hudson River. LAST TWEET: @rhkennedy: Dalmore Decanter fills the cracks of the heart. LAST TEXT: Assistant #2: Leave those files on my desk and lock the door behind you. MOST PLAYED SONG: Ring of Fire by Johnny Cash – "Love is a burning thing and it makes a fiery ring." CHARACTER SECRET: Carl B. Kennedy (Roland's father) established Kennedy Enterprises in the summer of 1967. Since then, it has flourished into the multi billion dollar company it is today. The company is known to specialize in pharmaceuticals, biotechnology, electronics and much more. Soon after Roland graduated college, it was announced that Carl would be selling the company to another corporation, but Roland, who had been working to take over the company, was not about to let his future be sold to the highest bidder. The Serpent Labret With Articulated Tongue The Serpent is very small, not a full length scale of a serpent; the serpent is in a 's' shape position that ends where the shoulder of the snake would be.The tongue is long . There's a small cut at the bottom of the tongue, making it look like there are two tongues. The snake is in a position that is ready to attack by displaying all eighteen sharp teeth– the teeth near the middle are bigger in width in comparison to the side teeth and are shaped like a crescent moon. The nose of the serpent pops up with a bulge. The eyes are on the side and are almond shaped. At the end of this shoulder , there's a sideways thimble–like shape. • 5. Primary Color Reflection Jack Stanton in the movie Primary Colors reminded me a lot of President Bill Clinton. The way he talked and his demeanor, and his charisma. After researching this movie I see that it is loosely based on Bill Clinton's first presidential campaign in 1992. (Movie Primary Colors, 2013) The movie starts with Governor Jack Stanton meeting with an adult literacy class. There is an adult student there that gives a touching speech about his graduation day. He did not know how to read and he was not able to graduate. His classmates snickered and laughed. He was humiliated and he felt so bad for his mom to miss work and see this. Henry is the grandson of a civil rights leader. Governor Stanton wanted Henry to be part of his staff. Henry is still trying to decide if he will be joining this team as the campaign manager. He sees how Governor Stanton is weeping with no shame. He sees this as a good quality in Governor Stanton. Henry contemplates if he wants to be on Governor Stanton team. Governor Jack Stanton gives a speech about his uncle that served the World War II and how he won a medal of honor. Several different companies and schools approached him with several different opportunities when he returned home from the war. He did not accept any of the offers because he was too ashamed to ask for help and be taught how to read. Governor Stanton spends his time with the adult literacy class because he feels that he is able to see courage in those people that have asked for help in ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 7. Stink Fish Street art is commonly seen all over the world, and you can often see this form of art on downtown building walls. This street painting by Stinkfish, a Colombian street artist, delivers a colorful piece of art for the public to see. Stinkfish did not give a name to this piece because he selects random spots to create his masterpieces. The painting is a girl's side profile view of her face and head. The view beside the face has many colorful shapes and figures that can symbolize many things happening in her head all the time. There is one simple side of this artwork which is the girl's face. The more vibrant side of this artwork can be viewed as what is painted beside the face, which is filled with many colors and different shapes. These colors ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Looking at the top of the face, viewers can see one large eye and a tiny bit of the other eye. The eye is mostly black, filled with a little white in the center to make it clear to viewers that this is an eye. Moving down the face is a good–sized nose that is yellow and black for viewers to see it is a nose, along with a mouth that is mostly dark and difficult to distinguish. Near the eye and mouth are pink colored, flower petal shapes. This is the only bright color that is on this side of the painting, other than the yellow face, the small amount of white, and the black shadows on the face. Also, near the eye, are small, yellow dots that seem to be coming out of the other eye. This side of the painting is quite simple compared to the other side considering it lacks color. This part of the piece reminds me of a girl who goes everyday without expressing who she truly is. The face in this painting looks sad and straight–faced as if something is wrong. The face is much different from what is portrayed to left of the face. This image makes me think that this girl has so much inside her, but is not able to express herself because she may be afraid to do so. The yellow, small dots that are coming from her eye make me think that this is the only way she is expressing herself, and that only a tiny bit of her personality comes out when she is near others. Where the yellow dots go back ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 9. Personal Narrative: Stable Acres Far down a dusty highway sat a quaint little neighborhood in the rural sides of Indiana. This suburban edition went by the title of Stable Acres. The roads were old and scared with lines of tar and gravel to fill the streets riddled with potholes. The thin asphalt path snaked around trees and other houses. In my grey suede car seat, I could feel our maroon car, with interior the color of sand, come to a smooth complete stop. Outside there was a house painted a deep rich red and a concrete driveway that was also very tan. Past the windows you could see dainty ivory lace curtains that kept out the harsh sunlight. Suddenly, my car door would be opened, and my mother would place my one hand into my second home, my grandmother. There was ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

I woke up the next morning with Ally's head nuzzled into my neck with her arms and legs wrapped around me protectively, Dinah and Normani's head on my back with their arms comfortably wrapped around my waist, and Pia's head at my feet hugging my legs. I was wrapped in a human blanket of love, these girls have been with me through everything, they stuck by my side when no one else would, helped me up when I fell or when someone pushed me down, held my hand when I was scared, like now. I said as I opened the passenger door to my car waiting for Camila to get in. She walked over to her friends and told the all, individually, bye, before walking over to me and giving a weak smile before getting into my car. The ride to the hospital was as awkward as the greeting. I looked over at me every once in awhile to see if she was ok, and a few times I tried to talk to her, but she would just glare at me and shoot down any attempts I made to start a conversation. I don't think she meant to be rude, she just has a lot going on in her head that she's trying to figure out. It was given its name in honor of the honorable judge who went by the name De Witt Bisbee. I have many stories I can talk about my little town but if I did I could just create an entire story book for you, but one of the stories I like the most is one of the memorable ones when I was younger. Me and my cousins would wander the streets of Bisbee's ditches collecting crawdads also known as crayfish and tadpoles just for the fun of it. Tyler had worked so hard to reach Valedictorian, from stressing over every test that he had taken that year to even worrying that Adam's class president status would ruin him. However, he was glad to have found that his hard work had paid off, and he had immediately began to work his speech. Adam, had pulled the Salutatorian position with ease. We did this by playing a card game where we connected different organisms in a specific ecosystem to organisms in their food web. Each player was given three different cards. Each card contained a different organism from a different ecosystems including marine, desert, forest, and freshwater. The dealer would then place a card face up. Based on our cards we would bet chips each of different colors, red 10 pts, green 5 pts, blue 1pt. • 24. Jane Smiley Trent's Attractions: A Narrative Fiction Jane parked Trent's car and climbed out, taking a moment to look around. It wasn't the best neighborhood in Lawndale. Not bad by any means, but not as nice as Daria's. It certainly wasn't where she expected a fashion princess to live. Stacy's home was average for the neighborhood, a modest two story house painted a soft blue; it was set apart by a beautifully manicured lawn with flowering bushes lining the front of the house and a pair of small, well groomed trees in the yard. It didn't suit a fashion princess, but it seemed to suit the girl she'd been getting to know the past week. Jane reminded herself again to try not to freak Stacy out and headed up the walk. Her bright smile returned as she continued, "She also says you're really nice and encouraging. More than anything else though, she talks about your art. She goes on and on about how amazing it is." Jane smiled a bit at that last part. Stacy had been looking through her sketchbooks while they worked on the designs. Jane had thought it would be good for a laugh when the younger girl freaked out, but she actually seemed to get a lot of it. Coming back to the conversation, Jane asked, "You two talk a lot, huh?" Mrs. Rowe shrugged. "I guess. I like to think we have a pretty good relationship." Jane thought of her own mother and smiled bitterly. Mrs. Rowe seemed to notice Jane's preoccupation and changed the subject. "Thank you for staying after to work with her. I'm sure that budget hoarding Li isn't paying you for it." Jane chastised herself getting distracted like that, then collected herself and shrugged. "I'm used to spending my own money on art projects, so getting paid at all is a plus. Analysis of Primary Colors Politics is a bloodsport, one big game of corruption, muckraking, prostitution, and defilement, which is played by the politicians, the media, and the seemingly innocent public that tends to forget that politicians are humans also, no better than the masses except for one thing, the ability to play the game. Primary Colors by Anonymous portrays this fraudulent game perfectly, exhibiting all of the dark aspects of a political campaign: from the vicious media in their pursuit of scandals, to the traitorousness of opposing candidates to destroy each other, all the way to the secretive sexual interactions taking place during the campaigning process. Yet in this vice–corrupted novel, Anonymous also manages to let the human side of the tainted ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... For example, he remembers the promise that he made to "Fat Willie" about having him open a branch of his restaurant up in the capitol (214). But on the overall it is Stanton's genius that allows the people to relate to him, he lets them know that he associates with the problems they have and that he really cares about those problems (44), that is a noteworthy feature of his. With Freddy Picker, it is his honesty to the voters––to the American public, admitting the mistakes he had made in the past and confessing that he is "not qualified to even pretend to run for the presidency," (501) what highlights his nobleness and shows how dedicated he is to the masses. The truism of the unscrupulous game of politics is that one has to love the game dearly in order to succeed in it and be a good, noble politician. Picker does love the game, he does it "for the pleasure of the challenge" (486), but he plays for himself, and not for the public, which is a dangerous thing (486). His addiction to the political game as well as drugs made him quit the first time in 1978, and it is his addiction and not his love for the game that makes him crumble under the pressure of the present campaign. Picker avoids the game while campaigning against Stanton, and everyone on the Stanton campaign notices it, especially Jack himself: "He isn't playing the game at all, not in any way He's not going to be able to ... We were to walk to the park with our lunches while the rest of the kids would drive there. Two girls trail closely behind me, Haylee and Lexi. Haylee has hair like Rapunzel, long, flowing hair that shines like the sun. She has a squarish head and thinly framed glasses. Lexi, however, is the opposite, she's younger, shorter, has a round head and stick straight hair. Freckles sprinkle across the bridge of her nose and the apples of her cheeks. Glancing around, I see the sun gleaming off the cars in the driveway. I suck air in through my nose, the air is thick with gasoline. The window crept down. I cracked my knuckles and picked the dirt from underneath my fingernails. "Hey girls, where are you going?" the passenger said. I took a small step backward, my face was on fire. This is not okay, we have to go. My head was spinning. "Oh, were just heading to that park over there!" Haylee said unusually cheerful. I looked around, I knew this couldn't be good. "oh well we don't want you walking in this heat. Here, all three of you hop in the back seat, we will take you there." My world was going in slow motion. My face was on fire. Run you have to run, Alyssa. "Come on guys we have to run!" At that moment, I started running up a hill near by. Seeing the water over the road, Charity gauged the depth of the rising river, by marking a spot on the structure with a tree on shore. From living along the Savannah, she knew that once the river crested, it would eventually begin to recede. How long that took; depended on how much rain had fallen upriver. She decided she would ride back up there later that afternoon to see how much higher the water had risen, or hopefully, it would be receding by then. Personal Narrative-Paideia Research Paper As it melts in a small saucepan over the flame of the sideburner of the grill in my backyard, it takes on a swirling chromatic luster, like a reflective puddle of gasoline, until all four pounds have be en converted into liquid. It had arrived in my mailbox as two unassuming hunks of gray metal. The original brick must have cracked during transit because the metal exposed along the jigsaw split was bright silver, not the duller shade of the top and bottom faces. My friends and I had no practical intentions, however, we were at the start of a pretty cool project, and one I would like to share as my topic for Paideia. Bismuth, the eighty third element on the periodic table, is a gray, negligibly radioactive metal that is slightly less dense than silver. You've probably seen it, sitting idly inside small bins in museum gift shops, or hanging on earrings, necklaces, or bracelets, or even in a brand of over the counter gastrointestinal aids. In most of these contexts, it takes the form of intricate geometric crystals, in "stairstep" patterns of inlaid ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Bismuth's melting point – 271°C – is low enough that it can be easily melted over a stove or hot plate, or a sideburner, in our case. After it melted completely, we skimmed the impurities, now floating, from the surface of the liquid, and watched as a thin layer of oxide formed over the exposed plane of molten metal. We turned of the heat, and waited for the metal to begin solidifying. Five minutes elapsed, and the bismuth resembled the cracked surface of a frozen pond. At that point. the crystals were mostly formed, almost touching the bottom of the pan. We had to jostle the floating sheet with a fork to prevent them from setting completely, which would render them impossible to remove cleanly (but we had to be cautious not to damage or further fragment the crystals that are almost ready to be ... Frau stood up from her seat, judged both the young girl and her candy choices, and then calculated the price in her head. She let Loisel keep the candy, but only if she left the store and heiled on her way out. She only stuttered a little while heiling, due to her new motive of getting out safety. • 72. Armed Force Narrative Parker and I walked into the training area. I had changed into my mission outfit. The mechanical door opened and we walked into the training area. The training area is a large and enclosed training ground. The training ground was a lot different from where the fleshies, which was what we called the recruits, had practiced for the past few months. The room looked like a cross between an arena and a laboratory or something. It was somehow dark with only a few lights on–mostly only on the part where the soldiers will sit and up on the balconies where several armed soldiers were posted. The room looked sterile and the middle part of the room is surrounded by thick glass that separated it from the rest of the room. The darkness of the room, covered whatever it was beyond the thick glass. The room definitely gave a serious and dangerous feel to those who were in it. Everyone looked at us. I looked at the team of fleshies who immediately saluted me as a superior officer. I saluted back. "At ease gentlemen," I commanded, making the soldiers sit down in unison. I looked at Parker and waited for him to start his briefing. '' Now you know why Captain Stark is here, '' Parker told them. I stepped up ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Now when I say survival, it is not just shooting at creatures until they drop dead like what you did in your earlier trainings because real survival is being alive after experiencing the worst kinds of situations on the battlefield like limited ammunition and first aid and various monsters attacking you on all sides. You might be good at shooting targets here in the HQ but if you don't use your brains once, you are already on the field... I'm sorry but you won't get very far. So, today's training is not just eliminating B.O.W.s because today we will be putting to the test the knowledge and skills that you have acquired and honed during your trainings and how well you use them to your advantage and your survival '' I said ... • 76. Phenotypes In Animals Lab Report Introduction A study was created on the difference between phenotypes in corn stalks. We planted corn seeds to see what phenotype they would result in and record the data. Using statistical analysis, we determined the expected and observed color of the stalks. There were some green and white. The ratio we tested was 3:1, a monohybrid cross. This means the dominant trait is present 3 times, and the recessive only one (NDSU 2000). The objective of this study was to compare our expected and observed phenotypes between corn plants. Methods Our methods were fairly simple. To make sure our results were accurate, we used three plant pots to plant our seeds. We labeled the pots with our names and their cross numbers. Filling the pots with soil, we made sure it was damp and not wet by squeezing the soil out and packing it in the pot about half way. Then, we planted five seeds and spread them out, so they had room to grow. Lastly, we covered the seeds with more soil, also packing it lightly but tightly. After the plants grew, we examined and determined that our hypothesized ratio was 3:1 with a sample size of 38. Our phenotypes were green and white. We used a Chi–square analysis to determine our hypothesis. Null hypothesis: There is no difference in phenotypes between corn plants. Our alternate hypothesis was that there is a difference in phenotypes between corn plants. Results ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... • 78. Wakefield Family Cabin Essay The Wakefield family cabin sits on a flat, level piece of land that is inconsistent with the small rolling hills, timber and corn field that our cabin and it's ½ acre manicured lawn sits waiting for our family. The nearest road is a narrow gravel road that is not visible from the entrance to our property at any time of year. In fact, the only piece of the cabin that can be seen from the gravel is the streetlight placed in the northwest corner of the property to illuminate parking and the front gate, furthermore can only be seen from the top of a nearby hill. About fifty yards from the cabin is the Wapsipinicon River flowing through the landscape to the West, running behind the cabin and disappearing deep into the woods. A five–minute walk over one steep hill, another easier hill, and some unpleasant vegetation, is a large untouched sandbar. This area is the payoff for the hard work it takes to get to this picturesque piece of Earth. The Wapsi is usually shallow here, as long as it isn't flooded, also the sandbar in the middle is exposed when it's ideal to swim or play in the water. Venturing back through the clearing and thistle at sundown can be exhausting. Still dripping from ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Visualization of the cabin is more of a shack than even a basic log cabin can offer. The exterior color of the cabin is like a peach/tarnish color, which have always been a mystery and at this point if ever changed would be upsetting. The front door to the cabin is more solid than the planks of wood that serve as its exterior. Hearing the screen door open and shut plays over and over when memories of the cabin come to life. The sound is that of the spring opening very slowly and slamming shut with a bounce so the knock against the wooden door is etched into your mind after a half hour of being there. See, life at the cabin is a constant in and out of that front door, grabbing, food, blankets, bug spray, anything except the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
