Future Trends of Human Resource Social Media––– Facebook vs. LinkedIn OB student 1.
Introduction What does the human resource information system look like in the future? It is hard to
find an accurate answer for me. Every year, thousands of HRIS specialists trying to predict the
future trends of HRIS and, of course, their prediction differ. However, despite of what prediction
they had made, I think social media will play an important role in next few years. In this paper, I
will try to discuss what social media means to human resource and discuss three major players in the
field–––Facebook, LinkedIn and Twitter. 2. Social Network Site vs. HR According to the 2011 Kelly

The fact is that the data stored on Facebook not only including job relate area, but also including
other areas, such as daily life. Employer can acquire 360–degree background information of
candidates via Facebook. "It is easy to track record of candidates on Facebook. These records may
imply personal interests, personality and other attributes" Said an HR specialist, "Traditional
resumes are monotonous, like masks, but these records are alive and we can totally tell a
difference." It is not surprisingly true. Tell me if I wrong, if the records of a candidate show that he
use the "f" word all the time, dare you or dare you not hire him? Job applicants like him will lose his
opportunity from the beginning. Facebook is now challenging LinkedIn by this advantage.
According to the survey conducted by Bureau of Labor Statistics, almost half of companies are now
using Facebook in their recruitment process, such as Boeing and Dell. They use Facebook not only
for job posting, but also for background investigation. However, research shows that there are
different between social media behavior and real life behavior. It is to be studied whether it is
reliable to investigate candidates via SNS. 4. LinkedIn LinkedIn is a SNS for professional people.
Launched on May 5th, 2003, it is mainly used for professional networking. By the time of June
2012, LinkedIn reports more than 175,000,000 users in more than 200 countries. Monster is one of

From some of these networking strategies will remain personal friendships; some will develop into
business relationships. As we become immersed in our careers, we develop a network of business

with whom we expect to maintain a relationship over time. The relationships that evolve might

The Importance of Social Networking

In today's society knowledge, having technical skills and access to information technologies, is
becoming very important for people who have become open mind and supportive with social
connections. Although resources and opportunities may be available, one may not necessarily be
aware of their existence, or even have direct access to them. In those cases, getting to know people
from different backgrounds, grades of expertise, and social levels turns out to be essential or can be
negative from all areas of networking. For instance, who among us has never needed a letter of

Badoo has an estimated 124 million users, a truly global operation, the site is managed and run from
London, and most of its users are based in Latin America, Spain, Italy and France.(Connell, 2009)
The list continues with Bebo at 117 million users bought by AOL. LinkedIn has 115 million users
and is a business–based social network. Orkut, 100 million users is another Google–owned site;
Orkut is very popular in India and Brazil. MySpace with 50million users once dominated the social
networking market, but declined steadily from 2008. Social networking is growing stead vastly and
will continue to grow with the advance of technology.(Connell,2009)
Social networking is a place where the sense of popularity is known and the more friends you have
on your face book the more popular you seem to become, but is this good or bad? How many of
your 'friends' on face book do you actually know when you see them out and about and how many
of them do you interact with? Many people have taken to adding anyone they think they have
something in common with on face book for one reason or another. Just because they added them
does not mean they will ever communicate with them.
The bad part of all this has to do with status and in a society where people want to be more than just
'that person' we have come to want more friends on face book. Twitter is the same way but can be
ugly as many people and their favorite stars to

The Implications of Facebook Becoming The World's Social Network and Telephone Book
Introduction The next twelve months are pivotal for Facebook globally as the company faces
significant challenges to its growth as both a worldwide social network and first location online
people look to connect with one another. In many respects, Facebook is becoming more like a
virtual phone book that can be used for quickly connecting with someone known in the past, just
met or of interest (Baltzan, 2012). There are very significant business opportunities for Facebook
both as a global social network and virtual phone book, in addition to large–scale implications for
social change based on the pervasive adoption of this social networking platform. Benefits and
challenges of social networking, along with the pervasive use of tags and crowdsourcing are
discussion in this analysis as is the impact of Facebook on children. Implications of Facebook
Becoming The World's Social Network and Telephone Book Facebook currently has over 1.07B
users globally with 604M of them being on mobile devices according to Benedict Evans, analyst
with Enders Analysis (Evans, 2013). The next twelve months are therefore pivotal to not only the

opportunities the social network and virtual phone book provide. Most significant is the potential of

online forums, especially those that pertain to our particular business.
I do delegate some people by voting, whose take care of our image.
Usually, they deal with post messages in online forums that concern our own business in any way.
Their comments need to be helpful and genuine to others (or they won't visit our business website).
That means, we can link back to our business website here and there, but not constantly, as that can
be annoying .
In other words, we do some promoting and business networking on online message boards and

People from other fields of business can easily have contact with us , and better socialize with

We should be nice for our customers, everybody knows that people don't like to do business with
grumpy and irritable people.
We considered, what we can give our clients and our network that will help them grow or help them

We always approach relationships in a generous, giving, and positive manner.

Ethical Issues In Social Work
Due to tremendous advancements in technology the social work environment has changed. How
social work practitioners function in the professional setting has expanded through the utilization of
technology, more specifically the internet. The internet has created venues and opportunities for

AN OVERVIEW OF CONSUMER BEHAVIOUR
Dr. Iheanyi C. Achuma: When we look into the market place, it is not always easy to tell what is
happening, let alone why. It is easy for consumer to get lost among all the complex inter–relations of
the market.
As the leisure time becomes more important, the society getting more dynamic and unpredictable,
attitude towards work, goods and services change, the word "consumption" itself is being
reinterpreted. It is enough to see chills running up and down the procedures of goods and services.
The shock waves that originate with product failures or dissatisfied consumers is ill wind that does
nobody any good. The effects of such shock waves are bound to radiate throughout the entire
economy and society.
The question then is can't this situation be avoided or controlled? The answer is fairly simple but
economically important. Consumption is a fundamental part of every economic and social system
and changes in consumer behavior have varying implications for the whole society. Consumption
patterns reflect the personality of the individual. Fundamental institutions are not left out because a
great deal of consumption takes place through the family. Consumption and society are related in
some other ways too. Consumption is in part culturally determined and thus can be held up as a
mirror of society. The things

Business and Human Services organizations all over the world try to look for different ways to
improve and be successful. One of the ways organizations have been able to maintain success is by
networking and linking themselves with similar organizations. A website that provides organizations
with this type of networking is LinkedIn. In week two I was given the task to research and
understand why such sites as LinkedIn help human service organizations stay connected with their
professional community and other human service professionals. In addition to researching how these
sites enhance more quality services and support and how additional training keeps you up to date
and competitive against other organizations. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Being tied into an online community helps an organization stay connected to other human service
agencies and the ability to offer more types of support services. For example, one human service
agency may provide speech and occupational therapy, where as their community link specializes in
integration behavioral therapy, which their client needs. What then happens is a quality referral to
that agency. These two organizations were able to work together, provide more services, all for the
greater good of the client's needs. How it works is that an online user can search for an organization
under the search tool. Once an organization is found the user could research statistics regarding the
organization, location, and who runs it. The user can then ask to follow the organization and become
a networking connection.
Training
Training and continuing education is an important aspect to any human service agency.
Organizations need to be able to provide training opportunities to their employees to keep them up
to date and remain competitive in their field. New types of therapies and research are developed all
the time and directors and employees need to be aware of them. Through LinkedIn and staying in
touch within their online community, organizations can now attend approved training sponsored by
different organizations. Some organizations can even upload the training online so that employees
can do their

I have been with my present employer over 16–years and have no prior experience using LinkedIn

recruiters and businesses are turning to find professional relationships. Most features through
LinkedIn are free. There are some additional functions available with a small membership fee that
would be beneficial. This includes being able to see who has viewed your profile and how they

Facebook (category 3). Body Paragraphs Twitter Characteristic 1: Can be used to present one 's own
brand or company 's brand Example 1: The Twitter profile and account of an individual are the basis
of his or her Twitter experience. For the business owner, it is an opportunity for them to tell their
business story to their followers on Twitter. The company 's Twitter account and profile should have
a similar feel and look as the company 's other online tools. This will help Twitter users to identify
the business and in the process build trust. Caution should be taken when choosing the username as
it will appear next to every tweet the company makes. Furthermore, the username would be used to
identify the company by other users on Twitter. A small business owner can use the name of the
business for the account and use his/her personal picture as the profile photo to create a personal

Examine why it's important to network 5) Discuss different strategies of networking.
Introduction:
Today, people network by joining clubs, going to lunch with friends, attending conferences, joining
industry associations, and going to alumni dinners and reunions; others network with church
members, school buddies, and community organizations. But what do these activities help them
achieve in return for their time and effort? Are they worth the investment? In other words, is there a
right and a wrong way to network?

Networking may not come easy to a lot of people. It involves meeting, conversing, and talking
business with people, and for some it can be an uncomfortable situation. Since networking is
extremely important, though, the best thing to do is take it one step at a time. If the thought of being
around too many people scares you, try to arrive at a networking event a little early so that there are
less people there. You can also consider taking a colleague with you to break the ice and for support.
Like with most things, the more networking you do and open yourself up, the easier it should get.
Online business networking:
Businesses are increasingly using business social networks as a means of growing their circle of
business contacts and promoting themselves and their business online. In general these business
networking tools allow business professionals to build up their circle of business partners trusted to
do business with. By connecting these business partners the business networking tools allow
individuals to search for certain business people within their network. Through introductions, the
members of these tools then can get in contact with new prospective business partners. Since
businesses are expanding globally, social networks make it easier to keep in touch with other
business contacts around the business world.

The Negative Effects Of Social Networking In The Workplace
Social networking is all the crave in today's society. In 2017, 81 percent of U.S. Americans had an
online networking profile, representing a five percent development contrasted with the earlier year (
). Social networking in the working environment can be an important apparatus for organizations. It
can, in turn, cause significant issues at work. Bosses are confronted with the need to create online
networking approaches that enable the organization to receive the positive rewards of social
networking use while limiting the negative impacts. Issues happen when workers take advantage of
work web access for individual use amid work hours. Managers must choose if the utilization of
web–based social networking exceeds the potential for negative effects.
Managers are concerned that social media can become a distraction during working hours.
Employees can become lost in time while on social media taking away from valuable productivity.
Social media can also be valuable to the organization as a promotional tool to reach out to new
clients.
An advantage of online networking in the work environment is that it can be used as an advertising
tool for organizations. It enables a measure of straightforwardness to the organization through posts,
sites, and pictures and makes the organization less demanding to identify with for the normal
shopper. Organizations can utilize online networking to assemble mailing records, offer deals,
display products and post positive media comments.

platform. The dawn of social media has carved out a way in which all generations can keep in touch
with the world. According to Facebook's newsroom, Facebook has over 1 billion daily active users.

Getting A Sharper Picture Of Social Media Essay
Getting a Sharper Picture of Social Media's Influence
If you are searching for the answer to the question "What is social media marketing?" then you can
find out more information here. It is simply the process of promoting different brands, people,
products, or services by using popular networking sites such as YouTube, Facebook, Twitter or any
other popular social media platform. This type of online advertising has done wonders for small
businesses.
Although radio and TV ads are just as effective as Internet for promoting brands, products or
services, they can cost a lot more money than promoting products on the internet. You will have to
spend your entire budget on advertising campaigns that are not always guaranteed to be successful.
As competition to promote businesses is fierce, individuals must take different advertising steps to
attract their target audiences and customers.
The quality of your services or the products you are trying to sell will ultimately be the deciding
factor in the global market, but visibility is just as important. The internet offers a world of
opportunities for small and big businesses and you can get global exposure at little or no cost. This
is the reason why it is essential that you learn about generating leads through social media.
The first step to take for generating leads using this strategy is to build your own business website. It

  • 1. Future Trends of Web Based Hr Future Trends of Human Resource Social Media––– Facebook vs. LinkedIn OB student 1. Introduction What does the human resource information system look like in the future? It is hard to find an accurate answer for me. Every year, thousands of HRIS specialists trying to predict the future trends of HRIS and, of course, their prediction differ. However, despite of what prediction they had made, I think social media will play an important role in next few years. In this paper, I will try to discuss what social media means to human resource and discuss three major players in the field–––Facebook, LinkedIn and Twitter. 2. The fact is that the data stored on Facebook not only including job relate area, but also including other areas, such as daily life. Employer can acquire 360–degree background information of candidates via Facebook. "It is easy to track record of candidates on Facebook. These records may imply personal interests, personality and other attributes" Said an HR specialist, "Traditional resumes are monotonous, like masks, but these records are alive and we can totally tell a difference." It is not surprisingly true. Tell me if I wrong, if the records of a candidate show that he use the "f" word all the time, dare you or dare you not hire him? Job applicants like him will lose his opportunity from the beginning. Facebook is now challenging LinkedIn by this advantage. According to the survey conducted by Bureau of Labor Statistics, almost half of companies are now using Facebook in their recruitment process, such as Boeing and Dell. They use Facebook not only for job posting, but also for background investigation. However, research shows that there are different between social media behavior and real life behavior. It is to be studied whether it is reliable to investigate candidates via SNS. 4. LinkedIn LinkedIn is a SNS for professional people. Launched on May 5th, 2003, it is mainly used for professional networking. By the time of June 2012, LinkedIn reports more than 175,000,000 users in more than 200 countries. MySpace with 50million users once dominated the social networking market, but declined steadily from 2008. Social networking is growing stead vastly and will continue to grow with the advance of technology.(Connell,2009) Social networking is a place where the sense of popularity is known and the more friends you have on your face book the more popular you seem to become, but is this good or bad? How many of your 'friends' on face book do you actually know when you see them out and about and how many of them do you interact with? Many people have taken to adding anyone they think they have something in common with on face book for one reason or another. Just because they added them does not mean they will ever communicate with them.
