2. • The main editing software used for our trailer was Premiere
Pro. This was where we made most of the cuts, transitions,
titles, effects etc. Using Premiere Pro was fairly
straightforward and allowed us to make our trailer look quite
professional due to being able to create features such as an
increase in editing pace and a smooth transition between
cuts. Using Premiere over simpler software such as iMovie
gave us a much better chance of creating a product of high
quality. Within this PowerPoint, you can see the basics of
Premiere and some of the features we used.
3. Here is the start up
screen you are greeted
with upon opening
Premiere.
This is the initial option
a creator will click
Once work has
started a creator
will click here.
4. You are then led to
this screen which is
your workshop
where you will do
all your editing
Here is where we
imported our DSLR
footage in order to
begin editing it
To start editing a
clip, you will drag it
into this area
These buttons
allow you to click
in and click out
in order to take a
section of your
clip
Once, we edited our
clip we dragged it in
to this area to create
a sequence
The sequence will
play here
5. Here is where you get
your editing options.
We used Audio effects
to make changes to our
trailers music. Such as
some of the options
seen here.
This is where
we could edit
our footage for
example using
the blur tool
Here we could
create
transitions
between clips
such as a fade or
a cut to black.
6. Here is one of our
scenes being placed into
the sequence
7. As well as editing our footage
in Premiere, we could also
add titles such as the name
“Sicarius” and also the
director and other titles to
help create the trailer.
Here you can see how we
added titles. There were
many editing decisions to
make with the titles such as
font size and style. We
eventually decided to have
black text on a white
background inspired by the
trailer of American Sniper.
