The Holy Spirted
On any giving Sunday, there is worship service that is taking place. There is one that will meet the taste of almost everyone.
However, will the one that responds to the desires of human fancy bring us to know the true God? Psalm 96: 9 says "Worship the
LORD in holy attire." The thought behind this text is to prepare the hearts of the worshipers to see God through the move of the
Holy Spirted. It speaks of the attire, but what is on the outside of the body should be a reflection of what is in the heart. The focus
of the Holy Spirted in worship is what draw us to him. This form of worship in called Trinitarian worshipIn the Trinitarian
worship, the focus is on the triune God (Father, Son, and Holy Spirted). The founding principle of Trinitarian ... Show more

It is because of the ability is given to humanity be in communion with Christ that the atonement for sins can take place. Paul, the
apostle, is writing to the saints who are at Ephesus he says in the Ephesians 1:7,"In Him, we have redemption through His blood,
the forgiveness of our trespasses, according to the riches of His grace." Paul makes it clear it is through Jesus Christ and the
shedding of his blood that redemption can take place. It is through this the processes of redemption that all who union with him
on the cross will have the trespasses forgiven. Paul also introduces the aspect of grace. Titus 2:12 "Instructing us to deny
ungodliness and worldly desires and to live sensibly, righteously and godly in the present age" when God`s grace appeared it
brought salvation to all men. It is important to know that God the Father is in His Son and his spirited and they are gifts from Him
to all humanity. The only way for men to connect to God is to come through Jesus. While communing with Jesus, it is at that
point that connection with God becomes

Baptism and the Holy Spirit in the Book of Acts
Water Baptism vs Baptized with the Spirit and Power
The book of Acts begins with Jesus' parting words to His apostles before His ascension to the right hand of God the Father. In His
opening statement Jesus promises the Holy Spirit, and He does this by distinguishing the coming of the Spirit from the baptism of
John. "For John truly baptized with water, but you shall be baptized with the Holy Spirit not many days from now." (Acts 1:5)
John had testified the same of his baptism, "I indeed baptize you with water unto repentance, but He who is coming after me is
mightier than I, whose sandals I am not worthy to carry. He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and fire." (Matthew 3:11, also in

3 And divided tongues as of fire appeared to them and rested on each one of them. 4 And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit
and began to speak in other tongues as the Spirit gave them utterance.
Still Today?
Is Jesus still baptizing with the Holy Spirit and with fire today? It is certain that the Holy Spirit is given in water baptism (see
again Acts 2:38; John 3:5; 1 Corinthians 12:13; Titus 3:5), and that the Holy Spirit dwells in the church. But the following two
consideration indicate that the unique baptism of the Holy Spirit which accompanied the apostle's ministry is not normative for
the Lord's church.
● First, not everyone who was baptized (with water) later received the baptism of the Spirit. In fact, of the (at least) nine
occurrences of water baptism in the book of Acts, two are followed by the baptism of the Holy Spirit, and one is preceded by the
Holy Spirit precedes baptism by water (Acts 10). Pentecost is a unique instance where three–thousand are baptized with water
after the Apostles were baptized by the Holy Spirit. So we see that already in the book of Acts that the baptism of the Holy Spirit
is not the normal and regular form of baptism. On the other hand, every convert to the Holy Church in Acts is baptized with
water. This is why the church has taught that the baptism of water in the name of the Holy Trinity is a sacrament which works
faith and gives the forgiveness of all sin,

The Doctrine Of The Holy Spirit
Introduction
What exactly happened on that Pentecost day? The traditional view says that this is the coming of the Holy Spirit to inaugurate
the Church Age. The question that arises is what does this mean and how did it affect the church. The day of Pentecost
empowered the church to be able to achieve its intended purpose.
History of the Pentecost
The Classical Pentecostal doctrine of the baptism in the Holy Spirit was first formulated at the turn of the twentieth century.
Nevertheless, Classical Pentecostals claim that their view of Spirit baptism is based on Scripture, and that this doctrine was a
normative part of the experience and teaching of the New Testament church. They further claim that this doctrine should be a
normative part of the experience and teaching of the Church today. However, the biblical texts, which are cited by Classical
Pentecostals to support their view, have been interpreted differently by non–Pentecostals. The practical value of this study is to
help Classical Pentecostals and non– Pentecostals identify the source of this doctrine, and to understand why they disagree on this
important point.
The Arrival
Luke elucidated the description of Pentecost as "fully come." Pentecost brought about a new fellowship. The Kingdom of God
henceforth is sanctified in the Spirit of Pentecost. The new thing is not in the wind and fire, or the gift of tongues, but in the
possession of the Spirit by each for the good of all.

Thesis statement
Being baptized in the Holy Spirit is an amazing feeling and one that can be a fulfilling experience.
Introduction
In this research, the paper would discuss ?The baptism of the Holy Spirit?. It would be supported with examples from the Holy
Scriptures. Further, this paper is designed to provide the clearest possible ideas on the reality of the promise of the Lord Jesus
Christ to his disciples.
As stated by Lord Jesus Christ to his disciplines, it can found in written that ?You will be baptized with the Holy Spirit. Acts 1: 5,
this research paper is the product of careful research into the inspired Scriptures of God, and especially the New Testament. May
the Lord, who sent the Holy Spirit to those who believed in his name and who ask him with fervor and faith, grants each of them
and those who read these articles, the grace not only to gain a better knowledge on this subject, but especially to enter and grow in
the experience of the Baptism of the Holy Spirit and his gifts. Peter said unto them, Repent, and each of you be baptized in the
name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins; and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.
For the promise is for you, for your children and for all who are afar off, even as many as the Lord our God shall call.

The Holy Spirit plays a very vital role in the lives of each and every believer; He can strengthen us with a strength that we cannot
even begin to muster up in ourselves. He can bring us joy that we cannot even begin to find in the things of this world. He can
bring peace to our lives more than anything that we can ever find on this earth. "The Holy Spirit which is primarily an energizing
process, is also a revealing, refining, consuming, illuminating process, and one by which we are made to glow with love to God,
and love to man, and love to souls."
SIGNS OF THE HOLY SPIRIT ON THE DAY OF PENTECOST As we look into the scriptures of Acts 2:1–11 we see the things
that took place on the day of Pentecost. "And when the day of Pentecost was fully come, they were all with one accord and in one
place." (Acts 1:1) Not only had the people began to gather together in one place but they were all in one accord and all were there
for the same purpose all agreeing on the same thing. "And suddenly there came a sound from heaven as of a rushing mighty wind,
and it filled all the house where they were sitting." (Acts 2:2) Imagine sitting in a room when suddenly a rushing mighty wind
fills the room. When we think of the force of hurricane type winds entering the room in which we are sitting we would not be able
to even fathom how it would be.

Who Is The Holy Spirit?
I believe in the bible but I am seeing a lot of contradictions. When Eve ate the forbidden fruit god cursed all women to have
painful childbirth and periods. When Jesus died he wiped away all sins. Wouldn't it stand to reason that when Jesus died that sin
also got wiped away and made it to where we didn't have to be in so much pain. Then he talks about how to turn to Christianity it
doesn't mean your cheating on Judaism but instead Judaism has died and now we can all get 'remarried' to Christianity. He says
that there are new laws and you will not know about them until you learn them. It says that the spirit of Christ lives in you. I
wonder how one knows if It does or not. In Sunday school the teachers said if you ask then the holy spirit will be in there. As a
small child and up into this day I cannot say I feel any different than I did as a child. I do not speck in tongues, I do not have a
voice in my head, other than my own, telling me right from wrong. It is strange the longer I take the time to read the bible the less
I understand and the less I feel is true. As I type this I think maybe the reason I am so confused is because I am reading this and
trying to use my mind to decipher it and figure out how to write and intelligent 250–word response. Which I hope I'm doing well
at, but maybe I shouldn't focus on making since and start trying to 'feel'. If the holy spirit is able to tell us how to live our life's
maybe it will try to tell me how to read the bible.

The Holy Ghost
Act 1:8 But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in
Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.
Power in this context is, "doo–na–mis" which means force, ability or might.
Christ Himself made this promise to His disciples before He ascended to the Father. Just so we understand this promise is our
now. It did not end with the disciples of the time. Anyone who follows Christ, His teachings and lives a life similar to His is His
disciple.
The power that is promised in this verse is not only limited to extraordinary strength but involves courage, boldness, ability,
insight and authority. Look at Peter, before Pentecost, Peter had ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
So what did He mean when He said "greater works," Christ was referring to the miracles that He worked and meant that anyone
that believed in Him would be able to do even greater than He did. For example:
1. The shadow of Peter healed the diseased Acts 5:15
2. Diseases were cured, demons cast out by applying to the persons handkerchief and aprons that had before touched the body of
Paul, Acts 19:12
3. Just by Peter 's word Ananias and Sapphira were struck dead Acts 5:5;9–10
4. By Paul 's word Elymas the sorcerer was struck blind Acts 13:11
5. Jesus Himself only preached in Judea and in the language of that country, but the disciples preached through all most of the
known world of their time and in all languages of all the countries
There are more examples:
But what does this mean for us? We have limited ourselves by cheating ourselves that those things only Christ could do or Paul or
Peter. But it is clear in His word that, "all that believes in Him shall be able to do greater works than He did."
This gift can still be received even, today if we truly desire we are told "ask and it shall be given ...you receive not for you ask
not" our God does not impose anything on us even the good things. He wants us to make our choices freely. When we are filled
with this power our churches will come alive. A church that does not allow the

The Holy Crusades
INTRODUCTION
Over the years many stories have submerged about the Holy Crusades and have raised many questions about the motives that
drove those crusades in the first place. To understand the Crusades one must understand the force behind them. Christianity took
its roots in Palestine and over the centuries found its way within the Roman Empire and gained ground rapidly. While Christianity
was taking shape, the church had to deal with the many threats that it was facing from within. After the church was deeply planted
in Europe and Asia Minor, a new and more radical religion arose in the Arabian Peninsula, Islam. Over in Europe in the early
days of the church many Christians saw themselves as soldier of Christ, spiritual soldier deploying ... Show more content on

After all the research that I made and tried to understand the motives behind the crusades I concluded that the crusades were
purely political and religiously incorrect. The cause of Christ had nothing to do with the crusades as a matter of fact the crusades
represented the total opposite of what the Christ was preaching. The Bible can be one of the most dangerous tools if misused and
abused, just like a gun is dangerous in the hand of someone who does not have the proper training on how to handle it so is the
Bible. The crusades were the inventions of ambitious men who wanted to gain more riches and power. Most of the European
population was either illiterate or did not have a good understanding of the scriptures when Pope Urban II used their ignorance
for his own stupid political gain. In the Holy Scriptures it is written in Hosea 4:6, "My people are destroyed for lack of
knowledge. Because you have rejected knowledge..." as a result of those unfounded wars the Muslims and Christians could never
found a common ground nor live together. Both side had endured great lost that could not be easily forgotten, the mistrust and the
enmity between Christians and Muslims is still being felt in our

The Holy Spirit Is God
The Holy Spirit is God Himself, as a person with whom you can have a personal relationship with. Also, the Holy Spirit is the one
who the Lord gave to us as a guide, to direct and teach the church and us (King James Version, John 14:16). The Holy Spirit is
our inner voice that tells us when something is wrong with our life and the choices we make. The inner voice is a blessing from
God, who loves us enough to show us our error. Also, the Holy Spirit is part of the Trinity; there is one God who manifested in
three persons, the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. All of the divine attributes ascribed to the Father and the Son are equal to
the Holy Spirit. When a person becomes born again by believing and receiving Jesus Christ (John 1:12–13), God resides in that
person through the Holy Spirit (1Cor.3:16). The Holy Spirit is not an ethereal shadow, nor an impersonal force. He is a person
that is equal in every way with God the Father and God the Son. He is also considered to be the third member of the Godhead.
Jesus said to His apostles... "All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth. Go therefore and make disciples of all the
nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I commanded
you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age" (Matt. 28:18–20). However, the primary role of the Holy Spirit is
that He bears "witness" of Jesus Christ (John 15:26, 16:14). He tells people 's

The Role Of The Holy Spirit
The Role of the Holy Spirit in Salvation
HOMI 860–397 LUO
Jonathan Behler
L23929745
What is the Holy Spirit's role in salvation? How can sinful man come to the saving knowledge of a Holy God? What part does the
Holy Spirit play in regeneration? These are the questions we are going to investigate today. My intention with this sermon is to
challenge us and encourage us in the sovereign work of the Holy Spirit in the regeneration of a soul. With that said let us begin
our study.
Let us begin by defining the word regeneration. According Charles Ryrie regeneration is an act of God that imparts eternal life to
sinful man (Ryrie, 1965). Titus 3:5 (King James Version) states, "Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but
according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost. Many individuals will
sometimes utilize the words justification, regeneration, and sanctification interchangeably. (Ryrie, 1965). Justification is the
declaring of a person to be just or righteous (Elwell, 1997). Sanctification is the process that the Holy Spirit uses after a person is
justified to become more like Jesus. Regeneration is what starts the journey of eternal life, which is becoming born–again,
regeneration occurs instantaneously.
In John 3:3 (King James Version) Jesus states: "Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, except a man be
born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God."

The Doctrine Of The Holy Spirit
Ever "since the Council of Chalcedon in 451, Gregory has been honored with the title "the theologian" for his definitive teaching
on the Trinity in the late–fourth century." This has been bestowed to him because of his precise theological works "that helped to
shift the official orthodoxy of the church and empire from the homoian doctrine supported by [the Arians] to the fully Trinitarian"
faith that was confirmed at the Council of Constantinople in 381 AD. One of the arguments presented against Nazienzus is that
the Spirit is not fully deified as the Father and the Son are deified. The Arian theology asserts that the Spirit is an illuminator that
gives people the power to become right with God, but it is not on the same level as God. ... Show more content on

The Arians believed that the Spirit has the "power of sanctification and instruction," but lacks the qualifications of the Godhead.
This proposal is clearly heresy, but it comes surprisingly close to orthodoxy. The Holy Spirit described as an activity vaguely
covers the qualities of the Holy Spirit, part of the reason that this debate was not resolved within the first few years of its
proposal. Nazienzus nevertheless refutes this in his Five Theological Orations by posing the follow question:
The Holy Ghost must certainly be conceived of either as in the category of the Self–existent, or as in that of the things which are
contemplated in another; of which classes those who are skilled in such matters call the one Substance and the other Accident.
Now if He were an Accident, He would be an Activity of God, for what else, or of whom else, could He be, for surely this is what
most avoids composition? And if He is an Activity, He will be effected, but will not effect and will cease to exist as soon as He
has been effected, for this is the nature of an Activity. How is it then that He acts and says such and such things, and defines, and
is grieved, and is angered, and has all the qualities which belong clearly to one that moves, and not to movement? But if He is a
Substance and not an attribute of Substance, He will be conceived of either as a Creature of God, or as God."
This being said, it is

The Holy Gift : The Spiritual Gifts Of The Holy Spirit
"GIFT–GIVING"
GIFTS OF THE HOLY SPIRIT
INTRODUCTION
The Holy Spirit, the third person of God, is the dynamic agent that both leads us toward Christ and transforms us through and in
him. Upon a believer's conversion and regeneration , the Holy Spirit continues to work; the Spirit dwells actively in Christians
doing many facets of work like empowering, illumining, teaching, reproving, interceding, sanctifying, and bestowing gifts . Often
the overlooked work of the Holy Spirit, the spiritual gifts he entrusts to believers are important for the growth of both the believer
and Christ's bride, the church. God's desire is for us to be informed about the gifts his Spirit gives (1 Corinthians 12:1), and it is
our obligation and should be our desire to understand the giving of, the exercise of and the purpose in spiritual gifts. This paper
endeavors to present a synopsis of this subject.
GIFTS DEFINED
Spiritual gifts should loosely be defined as "God–given" abilities supplied by the Holy Spirit as prescribed and purposed by the
Father (Acts 2:38). 1 Corinthians 12:7 assures believers: "But to each one is given the manifestation of the Spirit [the spiritual
illumination and the enabling of the Holy Spirit] for the common good", and James 1:17 encourages Christians: "Every good
thing given and every perfect gift is from above;". Christians therefore have been bestowed with special, supernatural, God–
ordained and Holy Spirit supplied abilities (gifts) at their conversion that are intended to be used for the work of the Lord in
producing fruit (John 5:16). Identifying a believer's God–given gifts is subsequent for their continued growth and effectiveness in
Christ.
GIFTS IDENTIFIED
Key passages that identify spiritual gifts are Romans 12, 1 Corinthians 12 and Ephesians 4. The following list is likely not
exhaustive, but is representative of many gifts the Holy Spirit has revealed in the Word. Romans 12 speaks about exhortation,
giving, leadership, mercy, prophecy, service, and teaching. 1 Corinthians addresses administration, apostleship, discernment,
faith, healing, helping, knowledge, miracles, prophecy, teaching, tongues, interpretation, and wisdom. Ephesians 4 discusses
apostleship, evangelism, pastoring,

WHAT IS THE HOLY SPIRIT?
When Christ was preparing to leave the disciples he gave them this Command "Do not leave Jerusalem, but wait for the gift my
father promised, which you have heard me speak of" Acts 1:4. The disciples probably were confused and in distress hearing that
there leader was leaving. However, I am sure when Jesus reassured them that he was not leaving them alone put them at comfort.
Jesus Spoke to the disciples and told them "He will pray to father and that he will give them another helper that he may abide
with you forever John 14:6. Jesus also told the disciples the night before his death that it was to their advantage that He goes
away, for if He doesn't go away the Helper will not come John16: 7. This Helper that Jesus was referring to was the Holy Spirit.
The word Holy Spirit is translated in Greek as Paraklétos, which means counselor, intercessor, one who encourages and comforts.
As we read the bible we learn that the Holy Spirit is a person which dwells in us, which in turns fills us. "Luke also records Jesus
identification of the Holy Spirit as the good gift of God for his Children". Jesus was even filled with Holy Spirit the bible speaks
of "the Lord is led out into the desert by the Holy Spirit to be tested

Who Is The Holy Spirit?
Who Is the Holy Spirit? The most important thing we have to realize about the Holy Spirit is that he is not supposed to be referred
to as "It", because he is a person. A person with emotions, will, and intelligence. On many occasions in the bible we see the bible
refer to the Holy Spirit as a person who is personal with his followers. (1 Corinthians 2:10) Tells us "But God has revealed them
to us through His Spirit. For the Spirit searches all things, yes, the deep things of God". This shows us that the Holy Spirit does
indeed have intelligence and will, because to "search" for something, you must incorporate at least one of the aforementioned
characteristics. During the lecture, Dr. Wilson spoke about how the Holy Spirit is known and he ... Show more content on

The comforter Jesus Christ spoke of, is of course the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit comforts us by encouraging us in our walk with
the Lord. The second "C" Dr. Wilson talked about was that the Holy Spirit "Convicts" us. The Holy Spirit convicts us by acting as
the vessel that brings us convicting grace. Scripture that helps us understand the conviction of the Holy Spirit is John 16:8 which
says "And when he comes, he will convict the world concerning sin and righteousness and judgment." The third "C" Dr. Wilson
mentioned is that the Holy Spirit "Convinces" us. The Holy Spirit glorifies Jesus, he brings convincing grace to us. And proves to
us that Jesus is truly the son of our God. The fourth "C" is that the Holy Spirit "Corrects" us. This is means the Holy Spirit guides
and is our Paraclete (an Advocate and Counselor). A scripture that helps us understand how the Holy Spirit corrects us is John
14:16 when Jesus said "And I will ask the Father, and he will give another Advocate, who will never leave you". The fifth and
final "C" that Dr. Wilson talked about was that the Holy Spirit "Continues". This simply means the Holy Spirit continues the
ministry of Jesus Christ. The spirit also reveals himself to us through a number of different emblems. The Holy Spirit can be
recognized through Breath and/or Wind (Genesis 1:2, Acts 2:2), a Dove (Matthew 3:16), Living Water (John 4:10), Rain (Psalms
72: 6), River (John 7:37–39), Seal or Down Payment

The Spirit Of The Holy Spirit
Most of my ministry career has been spent trying to house break the Holy Spirit. As a young man I saw so many instances of
ministers manipulating people to try and drum up the Holy Spirit or the people to receive the Holy Spirit that I thought the Holy
Spirit needed our help if He was to move in the lives of people. I had never really seen the work or manifestations of the Holy
Spirit outside of a southern Pentecostal setting. Furthermore, as a young man, I was always impressed with the Evangelist who
stopped at nothing to start revival. I not only stopped believing in the power of the Holy Spirit, I doubted His intentions to allow
such things to happen. So my interest in an academic understanding of the Holy Spirit is insatiable. There has to be more to the
Holy Spirit than just speaking in tongues. This new understanding of the history and working of the Holy Spirit has opened my
eyes to the narrow mindedness of my Pneumatology. I now recognize the Holy Spirit in our services more than in the past. I also
rely more heavily on the Holy Spirit's leading in the direction of our ministry, both in services and in meetings. This has given
your congregation new confidence in the Holy Spirit as the Comforter, Director, and Encourager of their lives. The fullness of the
Holy Spirit is not just relegated to the manifestations of gifts, but we begin to rely on His direction and leading.
We have a rich heritage and Pentecostal history. Reading the stories of people being baptized

The Doctrine Of The Holy Trinity
A central doctrine to Christian belief would be that of the holy trinity. Though Christian doctrine recognizes the existence of only
one true God, the doctrine of the trinity describes this God as being "three in one", meaning that there are three entities to
compose the singular God. God the Father (also referred to as God the Creator) is responsible for the creation of the universe and
all its inhabitants, for sovereignty over His creation, and is the God entity with whom Christian believers have a relationship.
Perhaps a more apt description of the character of God the Father could be found in Daniel 2:20–21, which reads, "Praise be to
the name of God for ever and ever; wisdom and power are his. He changes times and seasons; he sets up kings and deposes them.
He gives wisdom to the wise and knowledge to the discerning." (NIV) This is not an outright illustration of the Father's character,
but it does provide a thorough observance of His power and dominion, and touches on His relationship with creation, which is
designed to glorify Him. Psalm 130:7, "O Israel, put your hope in the Lord, for with the Lord is unfailing love and with him is full
redemption," (NIV) expands on the loving and affirming character of man's relationship with God the Father, the attributes that
are chiefly definitive in determining the Father's inclinations. God the Son, or Jesus Christ, is the commanding example of the
Father's affection for man. Though his deity is the literal right hand man of

The Spirit Of The Holy Spirit
The Holy Spirit gives different gifts to different people. There are multiple ways to use these gifts and the Spirit works in
differing ways. More importantly, these gifts are given by the same Spirit, the different ways to use them come from the same
Lord and the same God is making these different gifts happen in everyone (1 Corinthians 12:4–6). The Holy Spirit gives these
gifts to everyone that is a part of the body of believers (1 Corinthians 12:4). The way that the Holy Spirit is given to each of us is
also different but also special to us. This shows that our Heavenly Father cares for everyone and knows what each of us need, in
order to benefit the entire body of believers (1 Corinthians 12:7). The Holy Spirit gives the gifts of knowledge, healing, ability to
perform miracles, ability prophesize, differentiate spirits, speak in different languages, and translate those languages to the people
that are a part of the body of believers (1 Corinthians 12:9–10). More importantly, the Holy Spirit gave specific gifts to
individuals for a reason (1 Corinthians 12:11). All of the gifts/parts come together and make up one body, the body of Christ (1
Corinthians 12:19). Even though there are many gifts, they are all necessary and play a role in making sure body of believers
grow and fulfill God's plan (1 Corinthians 12:21).

Joseph Of The Holy Ghost
Joseph is mentioned here as the husband of Mary, which makes Joseph legally the father of Jesus. It is not the flesh, nor the blood
that makes Jesus legally heir and gives Him the right to the throne of David, but being a son through Joseph 's marriage does.
That is why we find in Luke 2:41,48 where Joseph is called one of Christ 's parents and also the father. Mary was a virgin to
whom was born Christ. Nowhere do we read that Christ received blood or flesh from Mary, but we do read that Mary gave Christ
a physical birth. We are told that "she was found with child of the Holy Ghost (v.18,20)" where "that which is conceived in her is
of the Holy Ghost." Nowhere are we told that Jesus is conceived (formed) of Mary, but of the Holy ... Show more content on

He is the Energizer of the Godhead, not an adulterer with another man 's wife, and neither do spirits have sex. Should the Holy
Ghost have had sexual relations with Mary, even if a spirit could, then what would be the miraculous conception? What the Holy
Ghost did was miraculously formed Christ 's own robe of human flesh without a father and Mary supplied the nutrients needed
for the formed robe of flesh. Is it not the seed of the woman that is a promise to us (Genesis 3:15)? God the Father was there and
delivered Jesus from the womb (Psalm 22:9). The whole trinity was involved.
Scripture states in John 6:51–56; Acts 2:26 "my flesh;" John 6:52; Acts 2:31; Ephesians 2:15; Colossians 1:22; Hebrews 10:20
"his flesh;" John 1:14 "And the Word was made flesh;" John 6:53 "the flesh of the Son of man;" John 6:58 "that bread which
came down from heaven;" Romans 8:3 "in the likeness of sinful flesh." By a likeness of sinful flesh is a similarity, resemblance,
or representation. In all Scripture, never is the flesh of Jesus said to be any other than His own. Christ was indeed with a human
nature (essence), but no sin was found in Him.
In Luke 1:35 the Holy Ghost, God the Father (Highest), and the Son of God, the whole Trinity are present. That which shall be

The Prayer Of The Holy Spirit
When it comes to anything that has to do with my relationship with God and my love, worship, and praise for Him, I always take
my direction from the Word which has all authority in my life and the guidance and direction of the Holy Spirit. Some refer to
this as "Experiential Worship." Experiential worship in not just another ministry trend, not just another clever skill: it is nothing
less than discovering again the "biblical worship," worship according to the Greatest Commandment of Jesus (Rognlien, 2005).
In my studies I have discovered the importance of "Praise and Worship" and it being a responsibility of every believer to make it
a priority in their lives. Worship has priority in scripture. Take for instance what it says in the book of Revelation 14:7 "Fear
God," he shouted. "Give glory to him. For the time has come when he will sit as judge. Worship him who made the heavens, the
earth, the sea, and all the springs of water (New Living Translation, 2008)." The supreme duty of all of God's creature, including
man, for time and eternity, is to worship the creator. Jesus stated all creatures are responsible to worship.
Worship is the first and greatest commandment in the New Covenant and the first commandment of the Law under the Old
covenant. So it really must be a major priority for God and us alike. So what does worship look like? Worship is an attitude of the
heart. An attitude that is expressed in adoration, praise, and thanksgiving. Worship is a love response

Holy Trinity And Genesis
So, I chose to write my essay on the book or Genesis, which is also known as the beginning or origin of humanity according to
the Bible. What interested me most about this book was the fact we see God in several different forms or images. Here He's seen
as The Holy Trinity for the first time, but He's not limited in that aspect, which we gather from further reading depicting him as
transcendent, imitate, and the one true salvation from the world of sin we created.
Genesis introduces us to the true nature of God, that being the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit or simply put The Holy Trinity. Some
may wonder how can God be three different entities, but this isn't the case and the simple answer would be because He's not
limited in being like humans. But to further elaborate the Book tell us that "The Holy Trinity is one God in three Persons, Father,
Son, and Holy ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This is also where we were introduced to the more systematic or transcendent God. Before I go any further I'd like to make clear
that some scholars believe in the Documentary Hypothesis: the theory that the Torah was written by a number of sources (lecture
2). But from careful reading and lecture reviews, you get a sense that Moses the writer of this section of the Bible aimed to
present God as both transcendent and intimate in nature. The first creation narrative is seen as systematic in regard to the time
frame in which he created, but also within this narrative He is depicted as transcendent or going beyond. Within the first narrative,
He is very hands off and superior or mystical in a sense. I say this and came to this conclusion as I read passages like then God
said "Let there be light", and there was light", "Let there be firmament in the midst of the water and let it divide the water from
the water (Genesis 1:3–7)." All things within the first narrative are created through spoken word and truly divine

The Holy Spirit Of The Ark
Remember, I told you the Rapture is a type of ark. The first time God used an ark was to save people that believed in Him from
the destruction of water. The second time will be to save the faithful from the destruction of fire with the ark of rapture by a
Bridegroom. It has never been God's method in the past to pour wrath out on believers! Noah and his family went inside of the
ark seven days before the flood. The ark was a covering like a "huppa," which is symbolic of heaven. The church will be raptured
away just like an ancient Jewish bride would have been. The Holy Spirit fell on the church at Pentecost after Jesus returned to His
Father 's house. The Holy Spirit is the "Comforter" that Jesus promised would come after His Ascension. The Holy Spirit
manifested within the body of the church, and it is the current restrainer of the antichrist. A spirit needs a body to manifest itself
in, and when the Holy Spirit filled church is gone, Satan, who is a spirit, will be able to take over inside of the antichrist. The
apostle Paul tells us this in 2Thessalonians 2:7 NASB, "For the mystery of lawlessness is already at work; only he who now
restrains will do so until he is taken out of the way."

Skeptics Of The Holy Spirit
To a skeptic the Holy Spirit may seem as another description of God the Father that the Spirit is not a separate person at all. Some
acknowledging the Spirit contend the Spirit is not fully God. However, Scripture supports the existence of the Trinity, including
the person of the Holy Spirit, sharing the same authority, and power as God the Father and the Son. Through the works of the
Spirit, skeptics can be converted by perceiving the things of God once hidden. Of great importance, Wesley identified the Holy
Spirit as one of the three persons of the Trinity. That the Spirit of God had all the attributes of God, and is eternally in communion
the fullness of God (Oden, 2012, p.105–106). Our God has said, "I am the Lord; that is my ... Show more content on

The Spirit is the witness to the adoption of believers into God's family as a joint heir with Christ (Romans 8:12–16). Wesley
describes the Spirit as guiding, rectifying, teaching, purifying and uniting believers together in the will of God through Jesus
Christ (Oden, 2012, p.106). The Bible tells us while Jesus has ascended above and is seated at the right hand of the Father, the
Holy Spirit dwells in believers here ( Matthew 22:44, Psalm 101:1, Acts 1:5, John 14:17). It is the indwelling of the Holy Spirit
that allows believers to see the truth, and perceive the Spirit himself – "He is the Holy Spirit, who leads into all truth. The world
cannot receive him, because it isn't looking for him and doesn't recognize him. But you know him, because he lives with you now
and later will be in you." John 14:17 (NLT). So it is by the infilling of the Holy Spirit, that one not only experiences works of the
Spirit, but confirmation of the Spirit Himself. In conclusion Scripture confirms the person of the Holy Spirit, sharing equally in
the glory and authority of the Godhead. The Spirit of God possesses attributes reserved only for Almighty God and reviles the
things of God to man, including the presence of the Spirit

The Holy Spirit
The Trinity is seen at work throughout the Old Testament, but what many people do not realize is how often the Holy Spirit is
seen. The Holy Spirit is at work forming and shaping the history of the Bible. He guided rulers, came upon the mighty king Saul,
and, even more amazing, the Spirit could make a stubborn obstinate heart obedient. He gave the men words to say and write so
that people can read the message of the Lord. The Spirit is both hidden and revealed throughout the Bible. The Old Testament
believers did not always realize the full power of the Holy Spirit, but taking a closer look at the work he did, we see that the Holy
Spirit was extremely vital. Beginning in the book of Genesis the Holy Spirit is seen and takes an active role. "Now the earth was
formless and empty, darkness was over the surface of the deep, and the Spirit of God was hovering over the waters." (Gen 1:2) At
the time of creation the spirit was called ruah meaning, wind or breath of life. He was there at the beginning breathing the breath
of life into human kind. The Holy Spirit was there at the forming of the earth and all that we know. He did not have to be there,
nor did it meet a need of his, but out of his grace he chose to do it. The Holy Spirit along with the Trinity created all things,
including humans. "The Spirit of God has made me; the breath of the Almighty gives me life." (Job 33:4) God gives man the
breath of life, the Holy Spirit. When they die God withdraws the breath of life from

The Work Of The Holy Spirit
In this passage of scripture Paul was preaching to the people of Athens and he recognized that they were very religious in every
way but they didn't know God. The work of the Holy Spirit is just as real today as it was in the book of Acts. My message to you
today is no different than Paul's was to his congregation of believers in the book of Acts. Do you know God? We may proceed
with all our traditions and religious practices but if we do not know our Father we are struggling through life on our own strength.
Our hearts and minds need to be touched by the Power of God. So many lives are broken, relationships damaged and despair is a
guest in so many homes. There are prodigals wandering in the wilderness that God desires to bring home to their rightful place
with the Father. Just like the people of Athens we must get to know the God we worship. We need an intimate relationship with
our Father through the power of his Holy Spirit dwelling in us and working through us for the extension of God's Kingdom.
The Holy Spirit is like the air we breathe to the Christian Church. We must realize the presence of the Holy Spirit surrounding and
enveloping us is just as crucial to our Christian walk as the air we breathe. Just as we cannot survive without air we cannot live
empowered Christian lives without the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit deepens our faith, motivates our mission and demonstrates
God's plan for his people to know Jesus as their Lord and Saviour. Breathe on me

Baptism and the Holy Spirit in the Book of Acts
Water Baptism vs Baptized with the Spirit and Power
The book of Acts begins with Jesus ' parting words to His apostles before His ascension to the right hand of God the Father. In
His opening statement Jesus promises the Holy Spirit, and He does this by distinguishing the coming of the Spirit from the
baptism of John. "For John truly baptized with water, but you shall be baptized with the Holy Spirit not many days from now."
(Acts 1:5) John had testified the same of his baptism, "I indeed baptize you with water unto repentance, but He who is coming
after me is mightier than I, whose sandals I am not worthy to carry. He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and fire." (Matthew

But the following two consideration indicate that the unique baptism of the Holy Spirit which accompanied the apostle 's ministry
is not normative for the Lord 's church.
On the other hand, every convert to the Holy Church in Acts is baptized with
water. This is why the church has taught that the baptism of water in the name of the Holy Trinity is a sacrament which works
faith and gives the forgiveness of all sin, while the unique baptism of the Holy Spirit is not a sacrament, but a sign of the unique
office of Jesus (ascended to the right hand of God) and of the apostles (sent by Jesus to teach His Word).
● Second, as just mentioned, the signs that accompanied Jesus ' ministry also accompany the apostolic preaching, showing that
their word was pure. (See Acts 2:22; Hebrews 2:4)
St Peter preached in his first sermon, "Men of Israel, hear these words: Jesus of Nazareth, a man attested to you by

The Holy Spirit Of The Trinity
The Holy Spirit is one of the persons in the Trinity. The Holy Spirit lives in my soul because I accepted Jesus Christ as my Lord
and Savior. I think the Holy Spirit is an influence, energy and a person. He connects me with God in my relationship with Him. I
believe the Holy Spirit helps direct my thoughts and actions to be glorifying to God. Even though there are many verses about the
Holy Spirit, I enjoy and meditate on the verse found in 2 Timothy 1:7, "For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and
of love and of a sound mind." Also when I sin, the conviction I feel confirms the presence of the Holy Spirit that is within me.
2. Give proofs for the personality of the Holy Spirit.
There are many proofs for the personality of the Holy Spirit. He has qualities and actions that a person has or does. He has a mind
(Rom. 8:27) that exudes intelligence, expresses feelings (Eph. 4:30), and reveals His will. He can speak and show the truth to us
the same way a person could because He is a person. He is relatable just like any other person. Evidence of these actions are
found with the apostles (Acts 15:28), with Jesus (John 16:14), to each Person in the Trinity (Matthew 28:19), and to Himself
(Luke 4:14).
3. How do we know the Holy Spirit is God?
The proofs that confirm the Holy Spirit is God are found in His divine names, divine attributes, divine actions, and divine
Godhead association. He is named by God and Jesus in multiple passages such as Acts 16:7 and 1

The Holy Spirit:
In the writings of the apologists, there were no distinguish a third person for God's nature. They gave impression to identify the
Spirit as simply the Spirit of the Father. At other times they seemed to identify the Spirit as the Logos, the second person.
As Justin stated that;
The Logos inspired the prophets of the Old Testament but also said the Spirit inspired the prophets. A few passages seem to
identify the Spirit as a third person, some sort of created being inferior to the other two.
In one passage Justin identified "the prophetic Spirit" as a third being to worship, after God and "the Son of the true God," while
in another place he said that he worshiped God, the Son, "the other good angels," and "the prophetic ... Show more content on

Therefore, Holy Spirit is doing the work of God in this world. It keeps the believer to hold God's rule in this world.
Baptism:
Irenaeus trained that faith, repentance, and water baptism are all essential to salvation. He believed that water baptism is part of
the new birth. Water baptism is necessary for salvation. It's effecting the washing away, remission, or forgiveness of sins.
Eucharist:
The Irenaeus' theology of Eucharist gives meaningful thought about Lord's Supper. He stated that;
In the Eucharist, the members of the body of Christ are nourished by him. Being united to their lord and sharing in his life and his
blood. In drinking of the cup and eating of the bread, the believer is nourished by the body and the blood of Christ in such a real
way that he can trust in his final resurrection, because the body and the blood that he has taken are immortal."
When partake the Eucharist, it nourishes the participant. It is uniting the participant with God, Christ and the whole body of
Christ. It gives the eternal hope to the participant. Here, Irenaeus emphasize the resurrection of the participant with

There are many names attributed to the Holy Spirit such as Comforter, Spirit of Peace, sanctifier, revealer, and Spirit of Life.
These attributes are also pointed out in the book by Rick Renner. Throughout scripture there are also many symbols that are
attributed to the Holy Spirit both in the Old and New Testaments. The Holy Spirit is described as the Oil (Luke 4: 14–18), as the
Dove (when Jesus was baptized) Matthew 10:16. The Living Water also describes the Holy Spirit in John 4:4. In addition, there
are many works accomplished by the Holy Spirit both historically and currently. The Holy Spirit was part of creation as well as
the source of the prophecy as told by the prophets of the Old Testament. Probably the greatest work of the Holy Spirit was the
inspiration of scripture, the very word of God, through men. The Holy Spirit works in our lives everyday. He first of all gives life
to our spirit when we receive Jesus as our Lord and Savior (Eph 1: 13,14). The Holy Spirit also seals us unto the day of
redemption when we are saved (Eph 4:30) The Holy Spirit is the agent of the Trinity that works in our lives to work out our
salvation, walk in holiness, and by which we are baptized by Christ. The Holy Spirit baptizes us into the family of God when we
are saved but Christ is the one that baptizes us in the Holy Spirit (Matthew 1: 8). The program of study also gives teaching and

Holy Trinity
What is the first thing that comes to mind when someone mentions the Trinity? Do Christians have a good understanding of what
it means to serve a Triune God? Do we explain ourselves in a precise way or do we leave people with unanswered questions and
confusion? I would like to explore the historic, orthodox Christianity and the classic Wesleyan–Arminian consensus beliefs on the
person of the Holy Spirit.
First let us seek what it is that the orthodox Christians and the Wesleyan– Arminian believe according to the Trinity.
"Orthodox Christians believe in a single God who is both three and one (triune); the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, "one in essence
and undivided". The Holy Trinity is three "unconfused" and distinct divine persons (hypostases), ... Show more content on

The Spirit Of The Holy Spirit
There are many believers, faiths and doctrinal teachings that acknowledge the power of the Holy Spirit, however, they do not
ascribe his actions and the power to an individual essence but rather to mere influence. I do believe that the Holy Spirit is a
person, in–fact the Third Person of the Trinity who is equal with the Father and the Son in essence. When it comes to the
individual acts of the Holy Spirit as recorded in scripture, Elmer Town says it best "the Holy Spirit does a number of things only a
person can do; and it is the unfolding of this precept that I believe continuously bears witness to the person of the Holy Spirit. I
also believe that the Holy Spirit, the Third person of the Trinity is also God and as God, He is worthy of our worship and our
praise. I believe in the ministry and the indwelling power of the Holy Spirit; and despite all of the external influences and desires
of the flesh, the believer by the power of the Holy Spirit is enabled to live a godly life in this present ungodly and evil world
(Ezekiel 36:2, Acts 2:38). I believe that the indwelling of the Holy Spirit is to manifest the active presence of God in this world
especially in the life of the believer so to purify and convict us of our sins (1 Cor 6:11, John 6:8–11 and Acts 7:51) . From the
foundation and creation of the world scripture bears witness to the power of the Holy Spirit. In the book of Genesis it was the

The Holy Spirit : The Holy Spirit Of God
The Holy Spirit of God is the active force or power in one's life, which most certainly includes spiritual formation (Pettit, 2008, p.
46). When Jesus was speaking with his disciples he made it clear – by using the analogy of a vine and branches – that apart from
him they could do nothing (John 15:5). Only if one is connected to Christ will they have the ability to bear fruit and the way Jesus
empowers those connected to him is through the Holy Spirt that that father will send in his name (John 14:26). The fact is that the
triune God dwells in the Christian in and through the Holy Spirit. One sees this when they place multiple passages together to
gain a full understanding of this concept. For example, Jesus made it clear that he and the father would come and make their
home with the disciple (John 14:23). In 1 Corinthians 6:19 Paul reminds the Corinthians that their bodies are the very temple of
God because the Holy Spirit dwells in them which is similar to what Jesus said would happen when he sent the Holy Spirit after
his resurrection and ascension (John 14:17, 16:7).
The fact that those who are connected to Christ are indwelt by the Trinity and empowered by the Spirit of God remains true for
Christians today. In Acts 1:8 Jesus had promised the disciples power when the Holy Spirit came upon them and in Acts 2:38 Peter,
having preached Christ crucified and raised from the dead, made it clear that those who, by faith, were baptized into Christ would

The gifts of the Holy Spirit contain a big role in the spiritual life of the believer. There are said to be seven gifts to around

Just before he died Christ implied that believers in ages to come would also receive power to witness for him, "But you shall
receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be witnesses to Me in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and

There are said to be eighteen different gifts of the Holy Spirit. "The definition of spiritual gifts by the respected Greek

can basically fortell the future by visions or thoughts brought to them by the Lord. Teaching is another gift, which entails just

The Holy Lord Of The Lord
Service is perhaps one of the most misunderstood words in the Christian church. It's a sad fact that many Bible–believing
Christians do not engage in any real service for the Lord. Many will attend worship services and tithe faithfully, but do little else
in the way of service to the Lord. Paul told the Ephesians to "walk circumspectly, not as fools, but as wise, redeeming the time,
because the days are evil. Wherefore be ye not unwise, but understanding what the will of the Lord is." When I read this verse in
the Voice translation, I come away with a clearer understanding. "So be careful how you live; be mindful of your steps. Don't run

When that happens, we let them know it whether by throwing something or yelling at the television. Performance matters!
How we present ourselves matters! Paul uses the Greek verb "paristēmi," or "to present" which is a non–imperative verb. It's
interesting because he choose not to use words such as yield or surrender. The verb "to present" implies a happiness and
willingness to offer oneself. Think about a wedding. As soon as a couple kisses, the preacher will always say, "I present to you,
Mr. and Mrs....." What would happen if the preacher instead said, "I yield to you, Mr. and Mrs...." or "I surrender to you, Mr. and
Mrs....?" It would be kind of weird! As the bride is willing to take her new husband's name for the rest of her life by exchanging
her old name for a new name, we should be willing to take the name of Christ for the rest of our lives and be known as a follower
of Christ. After we've accepted Christ, it's logical that we would want to serve Him for the rest of our lives. In the same verse,
Paul uses a unique word for "service." The Greek word he uses means "service rendered for hire." When did Christ hire us to
serve Him? Paul reminds the Corinthians, "for ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit,
which are God's." Christ bought us with His blood that was shed on Mount Calvary and it did not stop there. We don't serve a

the eventual purpose of the edification and building up the church body.
Introduction
Understanding of Holy Spirit To start our research, we need to ask a critical question at the very beginning : Who is the Holy
Spirit? The Bible teaches that the Holy Spirit is a person. Jesus never referred to "it" when He was talking about the Holy Spirit.
In John 14,15 and 16, for example, He spoke of the Holy Spirit as "He" because He is not a force or thing but a person. The point
is especially important at a time when pantheistic tendencies are

The Holy Spirit Is God
The Holy Spirit is God Himself. He is a person that we can have a personal relationship with. Also, the Holy Spirit is the one that
God gave to us as a guide, to direct and teach us in living a Holy life (King James Version, John 14:16). The Holy Spirit is the
voice inside of us that tells us when something is not right with the choices that we have made. The voice inside of us comes from
God, who loves and cares enough to show us our error that we have made. Also, the Holy Spirit is part of the Trinity; where God
transformed into three persons, the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. When a person is born again, they believe and receive
Jesus Christ (John 1:12–13), God comes through people's life through the Holy Spirit (1Cor.3:16). The ... Show more content on

The Holy Spirit also acts in non–believers as well. The Holy Spirit makes people feel guilty about the things that they have done
and helps them to ask for God forgiveness on their sin. (John 16:8–11). The Holy Spirit pulls on our hearts and minds asking us to
repent and turn to God for forgiveness and a new life. When the Apostle Paul was planting church in his missionary journey, he
preached lots about the duty of the Holy Spirit, and the role that he plays in our lives for example in Roman 8:1–8. In view of this
scripture, there is a very distinct difference between the human flesh and the Holy Spirit. The Apostle Paul said that as long we
become Christian, the Spirit of Jesus Christ has set us free from the worldly law of sin. Whatever the flesh could not do Jesus
Christ has come to paid it all and to set us free from condemnation.
What is the Activity of the Holy Spirit?
The Bible talks about several roles that the Holy Spirit plays in the lives of people today. The first thing that the Holy Spirit does
is he provides conviction of sin to all people. John 16:8 said, "And when he comes, he will reprove the world of sin, and of
righteousness, and of judgment". Also, the Holy Spirit works in several ways for many believers that follow Christ. One of the
roles that He works is to serve as a comforter and a helper in our daily life. In John 14:16–17 this means that there is someone
that is helping us and guiding us and encouraging us during difficult time of

Holy Spirit Christianity
Christianity believes that the Holy Spirit is the third person of God and is the same as the Son of God. He is the Lord and the Lord
of Christ. Catholics and Protestants believe that the Holy Spirit by the Holy Father by the Communists, the Orthodox Church by
the Father, the ages of faith, love, worship and worship. For by the grace of God, the Holy Spirit is the only one who is able to
give birth to salvation; this salvation is completed by the bloodshed of Jesus Christ on the cross. The Holy Spirit lives in the heart
of the believer and becomes our Counselor and sanctifies us. The Spirit comes to reveal and glorify the Lord Jesus Christ, to lead
us into all truths, and to manifest the sins of the world with righteousness and judgment. Through ... Show more content on

In fact, we are talking about one, is a limited number. Therefore, the three limited figures together, of course, equal to three.
However, the Trinity of God is infinite, in mathematics, infinitely infinite infinite infinite is only equal to an infinite. Thus, in man
can not the Trinity in God be possible. The Father is infinite, for he is the Creator of all things, and has been called the Lord of the
heavens and the earth in the Bible, the Most High God, and the Almighty who is ever, ever present. The Son is infinite, because
he is eternal life of God, but to save the world for our human sin was crucified. But he could not have been put to death, so he
was resurrected the third day after his death. Not only that, but after forty days, he ascended to heaven, to prepare us for heaven.
And when we are ready, we will come again to meet all the people who have believed in him, and then we will be able to enjoy
eternal life. The Holy Spirit is also infinite, because he is Jesus Christ ascended to heaven, the heavenly Father sent to the world,
instead of the Lord Jesus as the protector of our lives. Therefore, the Holy Spirit is also known as the Counselor. When one truly
decides to believe in Jesus, the Holy Spirit comes into us and lives in my heart and becomes a higher standard of conscience. He
personally protects us and leads us

Quest For The Holy Grail
Lancelot, Galahad and their
Quest for the Holy Grail
In the Arthurian Legend, Sir Lancelot is viewed as the powerful and skilled "White Knight", however, he is also considered as the
"Sinful Adulterer" for his disobeyment to the knights' code of chivalry. Despite his innocence, these corrupt sins led to his
unsuccessful quest for the Holy Grail. Instead, Galahad, the illegitimate son of Sir Lancelot, is destined to achieve the Holy Grail,
his devotional purity making him a greater warrior than even his prominent father.
For one thing, Sir Lancelot du Lac is viewed to be the greatest and worst knight of king Arthur's Round Table. Firstly, Lancelot is
widely known to be the greatest swordsman of the Round Table. Legend tells that as a child, Lancelot is left by the lake, where he
is found by Vivian, the Lady of the Lake. She raises and fosters him, and in time Lancelot became one of legend's most powerful
knights. Additionally, he never failed in gentleness, courtesy, or in courage. He is said to be the bravest and most pure of heart and
is always willing to help others, saving a tremendous amount of people during his lifetime. Nonetheless, Lancelot is also
conflicted as the ill–made knight who commits the horrible sin of adultery. Queen Guinevere, King Arthur 's wife, and Lancelot
fall deeply in love and have an affair that is eventually revealed by Mordred. Lancelot betrays the trust of Arthur and goes against
his vows as a knight. Because of this sin, Lancelot feels

The Holy Spirted

  • 1. The Holy Spirted On any giving Sunday, there is worship service that is taking place. There is one that will meet the taste of almost everyone. However, will the one that responds to the desires of human fancy bring us to know the true God? Psalm 96: 9 says "Worship the LORD in holy attire." The thought behind this text is to prepare the hearts of the worshipers to see God through the move of the Holy Spirted. It speaks of the attire, but what is on the outside of the body should be a reflection of what is in the heart. The focus of the Holy Spirted in worship is what draw us to him. This form of worship in called Trinitarian worshipIn the Trinitarian worship, the focus is on the triune God (Father, Son, and Holy Spirted). The founding principle of Trinitarian ... Paul, the apostle, is writing to the saints who are at Ephesus he says in the Ephesians 1:7,"In Him, we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of our trespasses, according to the riches of His grace." Paul makes it clear it is through Jesus Christ and the shedding of his blood that redemption can take place. It is through this the processes of redemption that all who union with him on the cross will have the trespasses forgiven. Paul also introduces the aspect of grace. Titus 2:12 "Instructing us to deny ungodliness and worldly desires and to live sensibly, righteously and godly in the present age" when God`s grace appeared it brought salvation to all men. It is important to know that God the Father is in His Son and his spirited and they are gifts from Him to all humanity. The only way for men to connect to God is to come through Jesus. • 3. Baptism and the Holy Spirit Baptism and the Holy Spirit in the Book of Acts Water Baptism vs Baptized with the Spirit and Power The book of Acts begins with Jesus' parting words to His apostles before His ascension to the right hand of God the Father. In His opening statement Jesus promises the Holy Spirit, and He does this by distinguishing the coming of the Spirit from the baptism of John. "For John truly baptized with water, but you shall be baptized with the Holy Spirit not many days from now." (Acts 1:5) John had testified the same of his baptism, "I indeed baptize you with water unto repentance, but He who is coming after me is mightier than I, whose sandals I am not worthy to carry. He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and fire." (Matthew 3:11, also in ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... 3 And divided tongues as of fire appeared to them and rested on each one of them. 4 And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in other tongues as the Spirit gave them utterance. Still Today? Is Jesus still baptizing with the Holy Spirit and with fire today? It is certain that the Holy Spirit is given in water baptism (see again Acts 2:38; John 3:5; 1 Corinthians 12:13; Titus 3:5), and that the Holy Spirit dwells in the church. But the following two consideration indicate that the unique baptism of the Holy Spirit which accompanied the apostle's ministry is not normative for the Lord's church. ● First, not everyone who was baptized (with water) later received the baptism of the Spirit. In fact, of the (at least) nine occurrences of water baptism in the book of Acts, two are followed by the baptism of the Holy Spirit, and one is preceded by the Holy Spirit precedes baptism by water (Acts 10). Pentecost is a unique instance where three–thousand are baptized with water after the Apostles were baptized by the Holy Spirit. So we see that already in the book of Acts that the baptism of the Holy Spirit is not the normal and regular form of baptism. On the other hand, every convert to the Holy Church in Acts is baptized with water. This is why the church has taught that the baptism of water in the name of the Holy Trinity is a sacrament which works faith and gives the forgiveness of all sin, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 5. The Doctrine Of The Holy Spirit Introduction What exactly happened on that Pentecost day? The traditional view says that this is the coming of the Holy Spirit to inaugurate the Church Age. The question that arises is what does this mean and how did it affect the church. The day of Pentecost empowered the church to be able to achieve its intended purpose. History of the Pentecost The Classical Pentecostal doctrine of the baptism in the Holy Spirit was first formulated at the turn of the twentieth century. Nevertheless, Classical Pentecostals claim that their view of Spirit baptism is based on Scripture, and that this doctrine was a normative part of the experience and teaching of the New Testament church. They further claim that this doctrine should be a normative part of the experience and teaching of the Church today. However, the biblical texts, which are cited by Classical Pentecostals to support their view, have been interpreted differently by non–Pentecostals. The practical value of this study is to help Classical Pentecostals and non– Pentecostals identify the source of this doctrine, and to understand why they disagree on this important point. The Arrival Luke elucidated the description of Pentecost as "fully come." Pentecost brought about a new fellowship. The Kingdom of God henceforth is sanctified in the Spirit of Pentecost. The new thing is not in the wind and fire, or the gift of tongues, but in the possession of the Spirit by each for the good of all. Peter Kent outlines Peter's ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The Holy Spirit plays a very vital role in the lives of each and every believer; He can strengthen us with a strength that we cannot even begin to muster up in ourselves. He can bring us joy that we cannot even begin to find in the things of this world. He can bring peace to our lives more than anything that we can ever find on this earth. "The Holy Spirit which is primarily an energizing process, is also a revealing, refining, consuming, illuminating process, and one by which we are made to glow with love to God, and love to man, and love to souls." SIGNS OF THE HOLY SPIRIT ON THE DAY OF PENTECOST As we look into the scriptures of Acts 2:1–11 we see the things that took place on the day of Pentecost. "And when the day of Pentecost was fully come, they were all with one accord and in one place." (Acts 1:1) Not only had the people began to gather together in one place but they were all in one accord and all were there for the same purpose all agreeing on the same thing. "And suddenly there came a sound from heaven as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled all the house where they were sitting." (Acts 2:2) Imagine sitting in a room when suddenly a rushing mighty wind fills the room. When we think of the force of hurricane type winds entering the room in which we are sitting we would not be able to even fathom how it would be. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 11. Who Is The Holy Spirit? I believe in the bible but I am seeing a lot of contradictions. When Eve ate the forbidden fruit god cursed all women to have painful childbirth and periods. When Jesus died he wiped away all sins. Wouldn't it stand to reason that when Jesus died that sin also got wiped away and made it to where we didn't have to be in so much pain. Then he talks about how to turn to Christianity it doesn't mean your cheating on Judaism but instead Judaism has died and now we can all get 'remarried' to Christianity. He says that there are new laws and you will not know about them until you learn them. It says that the spirit of Christ lives in you. I wonder how one knows if It does or not. In Sunday school the teachers said if you ask then the holy spirit will be in there. As a small child and up into this day I cannot say I feel any different than I did as a child. I do not speck in tongues, I do not have a voice in my head, other than my own, telling me right from wrong. It is strange the longer I take the time to read the bible the less I understand and the less I feel is true. As I type this I think maybe the reason I am so confused is because I am reading this and trying to use my mind to decipher it and figure out how to write and intelligent 250–word response. Which I hope I'm doing well at, but maybe I shouldn't focus on making since and start trying to 'feel'. If the holy spirit is able to tell us how to live our life's maybe it will try to tell me how to read the bible. I Cor 12 – ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The Holy Ghost Act 1:8 But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth. Power in this context is, "doo–na–mis" which means force, ability or might. Christ Himself made this promise to His disciples before He ascended to the Father. Just so we understand this promise is our now. It did not end with the disciples of the time. Anyone who follows Christ, His teachings and lives a life similar to His is His disciple. The power that is promised in this verse is not only limited to extraordinary strength but involves courage, boldness, ability, insight and authority. Look at Peter, before Pentecost, Peter had ... So what did He mean when He said "greater works," Christ was referring to the miracles that He worked and meant that anyone that believed in Him would be able to do even greater than He did. For example: 1. The shadow of Peter healed the diseased Acts 5:15 2. Diseases were cured, demons cast out by applying to the persons handkerchief and aprons that had before touched the body of Paul, Acts 19:12 3. Just by Peter 's word Ananias and Sapphira were struck dead Acts 5:5;9–10 4. By Paul 's word Elymas the sorcerer was struck blind Acts 13:11 5. Jesus Himself only preached in Judea and in the language of that country, but the disciples preached through all most of the known world of their time and in all languages of all the countries There are more examples: But what does this mean for us? We have limited ourselves by cheating ourselves that those things only Christ could do or Paul or Peter. But it is clear in His word that, "all that believes in Him shall be able to do greater works than He did." This gift can still be received even, today if we truly desire we are told "ask and it shall be given ...you receive not for you ask not" our God does not impose anything on us even the good things. • 15. The Holy Crusades INTRODUCTION Over the years many stories have submerged about the Holy Crusades and have raised many questions about the motives that drove those crusades in the first place. To understand the Crusades one must understand the force behind them. Christianity took its roots in Palestine and over the centuries found its way within the Roman Empire and gained ground rapidly. While Christianity was taking shape, the church had to deal with the many threats that it was facing from within. After the church was deeply planted in Europe and Asia Minor, a new and more radical religion arose in the Arabian Peninsula, Islam. Over in Europe in the early days of the church many Christians saw themselves as soldier of Christ, spiritual soldier deploying ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... After all the research that I made and tried to understand the motives behind the crusades I concluded that the crusades were purely political and religiously incorrect. The cause of Christ had nothing to do with the crusades as a matter of fact the crusades represented the total opposite of what the Christ was preaching. The Bible can be one of the most dangerous tools if misused and abused, just like a gun is dangerous in the hand of someone who does not have the proper training on how to handle it so is the Bible. The crusades were the inventions of ambitious men who wanted to gain more riches and power. Most of the European population was either illiterate or did not have a good understanding of the scriptures when Pope Urban II used their ignorance for his own stupid political gain. In the Holy Scriptures it is written in Hosea 4:6, "My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge. • 17. The Holy Spirit Is God The Holy Spirit is God Himself, as a person with whom you can have a personal relationship with. Also, the Holy Spirit is the one who the Lord gave to us as a guide, to direct and teach the church and us (King James Version, John 14:16). The Holy Spirit is our inner voice that tells us when something is wrong with our life and the choices we make. The inner voice is a blessing from God, who loves us enough to show us our error. Also, the Holy Spirit is part of the Trinity; there is one God who manifested in three persons, the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. All of the divine attributes ascribed to the Father and the Son are equal to the Holy Spirit. When a person becomes born again by believing and receiving Jesus Christ (John 1:12–13), God resides in that person through the Holy Spirit (1Cor.3:16). The Holy Spirit is not an ethereal shadow, nor an impersonal force. He is a person that is equal in every way with God the Father and God the Son. He is also considered to be the third member of the Godhead. Jesus said to His apostles... "All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth. Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age" (Matt. 28:18–20). • 19. The Role Of The Holy Spirit The Role of the Holy Spirit in Salvation HOMI 860–397 LUO Jonathan Behler L23929745 What is the Holy Spirit's role in salvation? How can sinful man come to the saving knowledge of a Holy God? What part does the Holy Spirit play in regeneration? These are the questions we are going to investigate today. My intention with this sermon is to challenge us and encourage us in the sovereign work of the Holy Spirit in the regeneration of a soul. With that said let us begin our study. Let us begin by defining the word regeneration. According Charles Ryrie regeneration is an act of God that imparts eternal life to sinful man (Ryrie, 1965). Titus 3:5 (King James Version) states, "Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost. Many individuals will sometimes utilize the words justification, regeneration, and sanctification interchangeably. (Ryrie, 1965). Justification is the declaring of a person to be just or righteous (Elwell, 1997). Sanctification is the process that the Holy Spirit uses after a person is justified to become more like Jesus. Regeneration is what starts the journey of eternal life, which is becoming born–again, regeneration occurs instantaneously. In John 3:3 (King James Version) Jesus states: "Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God." ... • 21. The Doctrine Of The Holy Spirit Ever "since the Council of Chalcedon in 451, Gregory has been honored with the title "the theologian" for his definitive teaching on the Trinity in the late–fourth century." This has been bestowed to him because of his precise theological works "that helped to shift the official orthodoxy of the church and empire from the homoian doctrine supported by [the Arians] to the fully Trinitarian" faith that was confirmed at the Council of Constantinople in 381 AD. One of the arguments presented against Nazienzus is that the Spirit is not fully deified as the Father and the Son are deified. The Arian theology asserts that the Spirit is an illuminator that gives people the power to become right with God, but it is not on the same level as God. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The Arians believed that the Spirit has the "power of sanctification and instruction," but lacks the qualifications of the Godhead. This proposal is clearly heresy, but it comes surprisingly close to orthodoxy. The Holy Spirit described as an activity vaguely covers the qualities of the Holy Spirit, part of the reason that this debate was not resolved within the first few years of its proposal. Nazienzus nevertheless refutes this in his Five Theological Orations by posing the follow question: The Holy Ghost must certainly be conceived of either as in the category of the Self–existent, or as in that of the things which are contemplated in another; of which classes those who are skilled in such matters call the one Substance and the other Accident. Now if He were an Accident, He would be an Activity of God, for what else, or of whom else, could He be, for surely this is what most avoids composition? And if He is an Activity, He will be effected, but will not effect and will cease to exist as soon as He has been effected, for this is the nature of an Activity. How is it then that He acts and says such and such things, and defines, and is grieved, and is angered, and has all the qualities which belong clearly to one that moves, and not to movement? But if He is a Substance and not an attribute of Substance, He will be conceived of either as a Creature of God, or as God." This being said, it is ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 23. The Holy Gift : The Spiritual Gifts Of The Holy Spirit "GIFT–GIVING" GIFTS OF THE HOLY SPIRIT INTRODUCTION The Holy Spirit, the third person of God, is the dynamic agent that both leads us toward Christ and transforms us through and in him. Upon a believer's conversion and regeneration , the Holy Spirit continues to work; the Spirit dwells actively in Christians doing many facets of work like empowering, illumining, teaching, reproving, interceding, sanctifying, and bestowing gifts . Often the overlooked work of the Holy Spirit, the spiritual gifts he entrusts to believers are important for the growth of both the believer and Christ's bride, the church. God's desire is for us to be informed about the gifts his Spirit gives (1 Corinthians 12:1), and it is our obligation and should be our desire to understand the giving of, the exercise of and the purpose in spiritual gifts. This paper endeavors to present a synopsis of this subject. GIFTS DEFINED Spiritual gifts should loosely be defined as "God–given" abilities supplied by the Holy Spirit as prescribed and purposed by the Father (Acts 2:38). 1 Corinthians 12:7 assures believers: "But to each one is given the manifestation of the Spirit [the spiritual illumination and the enabling of the Holy Spirit] for the common good", and James 1:17 encourages Christians: "Every good thing given and every perfect gift is from above;". Christians therefore have been bestowed with special, supernatural, God– ordained and Holy Spirit supplied abilities (gifts) at their conversion that are intended to be used for the work of the Lord in producing fruit (John 5:16). Identifying a believer's God–given gifts is subsequent for their continued growth and effectiveness in Christ. GIFTS IDENTIFIED Key passages that identify spiritual gifts are Romans 12, 1 Corinthians 12 and Ephesians 4. The following list is likely not exhaustive, but is representative of many gifts the Holy Spirit has revealed in the Word. Romans 12 speaks about exhortation, giving, leadership, mercy, prophecy, service, and teaching. 1 Corinthians addresses administration, apostleship, discernment, faith, healing, helping, knowledge, miracles, prophecy, teaching, tongues, interpretation, and wisdom. When Christ was preparing to leave the disciples he gave them this Command "Do not leave Jerusalem, but wait for the gift my father promised, which you have heard me speak of" Acts 1:4. The disciples probably were confused and in distress hearing that there leader was leaving. However, I am sure when Jesus reassured them that he was not leaving them alone put them at comfort. Jesus Spoke to the disciples and told them "He will pray to father and that he will give them another helper that he may abide with you forever John 14:6. Jesus also told the disciples the night before his death that it was to their advantage that He goes away, for if He doesn't go away the Helper will not come John16: 7.

  • 28. Who Is The Holy Spirit? Who Is the Holy Spirit? The most important thing we have to realize about the Holy Spirit is that he is not supposed to be referred to as "It", because he is a person. A person with emotions, will, and intelligence. On many occasions in the bible we see the bible refer to the Holy Spirit as a person who is personal with his followers. (1 Corinthians 2:10) Tells us "But God has revealed them to us through His Spirit. For the Spirit searches all things, yes, the deep things of God". This shows us that the Holy Spirit does indeed have intelligence and will, because to "search" for something, you must incorporate at least one of the aforementioned characteristics. During the lecture, Dr. Wilson spoke about how the Holy Spirit is known and he ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The comforter Jesus Christ spoke of, is of course the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit comforts us by encouraging us in our walk with the Lord. The second "C" Dr. Wilson talked about was that the Holy Spirit "Convicts" us. The Holy Spirit convicts us by acting as the vessel that brings us convicting grace. Scripture that helps us understand the conviction of the Holy Spirit is John 16:8 which says "And when he comes, he will convict the world concerning sin and righteousness and judgment." The third "C" Dr. Wilson mentioned is that the Holy Spirit "Convinces" us. The Holy Spirit glorifies Jesus, he brings convincing grace to us. And proves to us that Jesus is truly the son of our God. The fourth "C" is that the Holy Spirit "Corrects" us. This is means the Holy Spirit guides and is our Paraclete (an Advocate and Counselor). A scripture that helps us understand how the Holy Spirit corrects us is John 14:16 when Jesus said "And I will ask the Father, and he will give another Advocate, who will never leave you". The fifth and final "C" that Dr. Wilson talked about was that the Holy Spirit "Continues". This simply means the Holy Spirit continues the ministry of Jesus Christ. The spirit also reveals himself to us through a number of different emblems. The Holy Spirit can be recognized through Breath and/or Wind (Genesis 1:2, Acts 2:2), a Dove (Matthew 3:16), Living Water (John 4:10), Rain (Psalms 72: 6), River (John 7:37–39), Seal or Down Payment ... • 30. The Spirit Of The Holy Spirit Most of my ministry career has been spent trying to house break the Holy Spirit. As a young man I saw so many instances of ministers manipulating people to try and drum up the Holy Spirit or the people to receive the Holy Spirit that I thought the Holy Spirit needed our help if He was to move in the lives of people. I had never really seen the work or manifestations of the Holy Spirit outside of a southern Pentecostal setting. Furthermore, as a young man, I was always impressed with the Evangelist who stopped at nothing to start revival. I not only stopped believing in the power of the Holy Spirit, I doubted His intentions to allow such things to happen. So my interest in an academic understanding of the Holy Spirit is insatiable. There has to be more to the Holy Spirit than just speaking in tongues. This new understanding of the history and working of the Holy Spirit has opened my eyes to the narrow mindedness of my Pneumatology. I now recognize the Holy Spirit in our services more than in the past. I also rely more heavily on the Holy Spirit's leading in the direction of our ministry, both in services and in meetings. This has given your congregation new confidence in the Holy Spirit as the Comforter, Director, and Encourager of their lives. The fullness of the Holy Spirit is not just relegated to the manifestations of gifts, but we begin to rely on His direction and leading. We have a rich heritage and Pentecostal history. • 32. The Doctrine Of The Holy Trinity A central doctrine to Christian belief would be that of the holy trinity. Though Christian doctrine recognizes the existence of only one true God, the doctrine of the trinity describes this God as being "three in one", meaning that there are three entities to compose the singular God. God the Father (also referred to as God the Creator) is responsible for the creation of the universe and all its inhabitants, for sovereignty over His creation, and is the God entity with whom Christian believers have a relationship. Perhaps a more apt description of the character of God the Father could be found in Daniel 2:20–21, which reads, "Praise be to the name of God for ever and ever; wisdom and power are his. He changes times and seasons; he sets up kings and deposes them. He gives wisdom to the wise and knowledge to the discerning." (NIV) This is not an outright illustration of the Father's character, but it does provide a thorough observance of His power and dominion, and touches on His relationship with creation, which is designed to glorify Him. Psalm 130:7, "O Israel, put your hope in the Lord, for with the Lord is unfailing love and with him is full redemption," (NIV) expands on the loving and affirming character of man's relationship with God the Father, the attributes that are chiefly definitive in determining the Father's inclinations. God the Son, or Jesus Christ, is the commanding example of the Father's affection for man. Though his deity is the literal right hand man of ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 34. The Spirit Of The Holy Spirit The Holy Spirit gives different gifts to different people. There are multiple ways to use these gifts and the Spirit works in differing ways. More importantly, these gifts are given by the same Spirit, the different ways to use them come from the same Lord and the same God is making these different gifts happen in everyone (1 Corinthians 12:4–6). The Holy Spirit gives these gifts to everyone that is a part of the body of believers (1 Corinthians 12:4). The way that the Holy Spirit is given to each of us is also different but also special to us. This shows that our Heavenly Father cares for everyone and knows what each of us need, in order to benefit the entire body of believers (1 Corinthians 12:7). The Holy Spirit gives the gifts of knowledge, healing, ability to perform miracles, ability prophesize, differentiate spirits, speak in different languages, and translate those languages to the people that are a part of the body of believers (1 Corinthians 12:9–10). More importantly, the Holy Spirit gave specific gifts to individuals for a reason (1 Corinthians 12:11). All of the gifts/parts come together and make up one body, the body of Christ (1 Corinthians 12:19). Even though there are many gifts, they are all necessary and play a role in making sure body of believers grow and fulfill God's plan (1 Corinthians 12:21). Is it not the seed of the woman that is a promise to us (Genesis 3:15)? God the Father was there and delivered Jesus from the womb (Psalm 22:9). The whole trinity was involved. Scripture states in John 6:51–56; Acts 2:26 "my flesh;" John 6:52; Acts 2:31; Ephesians 2:15; Colossians 1:22; Hebrews 10:20 "his flesh;" John 1:14 "And the Word was made flesh;" John 6:53 "the flesh of the Son of man;" John 6:58 "that bread which came down from heaven;" Romans 8:3 "in the likeness of sinful flesh." • 38. The Prayer Of The Holy Spirit When it comes to anything that has to do with my relationship with God and my love, worship, and praise for Him, I always take my direction from the Word which has all authority in my life and the guidance and direction of the Holy Spirit. Some refer to this as "Experiential Worship." Experiential worship in not just another ministry trend, not just another clever skill: it is nothing less than discovering again the "biblical worship," worship according to the Greatest Commandment of Jesus (Rognlien, 2005). In my studies I have discovered the importance of "Praise and Worship" and it being a responsibility of every believer to make it a priority in their lives. Worship has priority in scripture. Take for instance what it says in the book of Revelation 14:7 "Fear God," he shouted. "Give glory to him. For the time has come when he will sit as judge. Worship him who made the heavens, the earth, the sea, and all the springs of water (New Living Translation, 2008)." The supreme duty of all of God's creature, including man, for time and eternity, is to worship the creator. Jesus stated all creatures are responsible to worship. Worship is the first and greatest commandment in the New Covenant and the first commandment of the Law under the Old covenant. So it really must be a major priority for God and us alike. So what does worship look like? Worship is an attitude of the heart. An attitude that is expressed in adoration, praise, and thanksgiving. Worship is a love response ... • 40. Holy Trinity And Genesis So, I chose to write my essay on the book or Genesis, which is also known as the beginning or origin of humanity according to the Bible. What interested me most about this book was the fact we see God in several different forms or images. Here He's seen as The Holy Trinity for the first time, but He's not limited in that aspect, which we gather from further reading depicting him as transcendent, imitate, and the one true salvation from the world of sin we created. Genesis introduces us to the true nature of God, that being the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit or simply put The Holy Trinity. Some may wonder how can God be three different entities, but this isn't the case and the simple answer would be because He's not limited in being like humans. But to further elaborate the Book tell us that "The Holy Trinity is one God in three Persons, Father, Son, and Holy ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... But from careful reading and lecture reviews, you get a sense that Moses the writer of this section of the Bible aimed to present God as both transcendent and intimate in nature. The first creation narrative is seen as systematic in regard to the time frame in which he created, but also within this narrative He is depicted as transcendent or going beyond. Within the first narrative, He is very hands off and superior or mystical in a sense. I say this and came to this conclusion as I read passages like then God said "Let there be light", and there was light", "Let there be firmament in the midst of the water and let it divide the water from the water (Genesis 1:3–7)." • 42. The Holy Spirit Of The Ark Remember, I told you the Rapture is a type of ark. The first time God used an ark was to save people that believed in Him from the destruction of water. The second time will be to save the faithful from the destruction of fire with the ark of rapture by a Bridegroom. It has never been God's method in the past to pour wrath out on believers! Noah and his family went inside of the ark seven days before the flood. The ark was a covering like a "huppa," which is symbolic of heaven. The church will be raptured away just like an ancient Jewish bride would have been. The Holy Spirit fell on the church at Pentecost after Jesus returned to His Father 's house. The Holy Spirit is the "Comforter" that Jesus promised would come after His Ascension. The Holy Spirit manifested within the body of the church, and it is the current restrainer of the antichrist. A spirit needs a body to manifest itself in, and when the Holy Spirit filled church is gone, Satan, who is a spirit, will be able to take over inside of the antichrist. The apostle Paul tells us this in 2Thessalonians 2:7 NASB, "For the mystery of lawlessness is already at work; only he who now restrains will do so until he is taken out of the way." *** No one knows the hour, but people have tried to set dates for Jesus' return. • 44. Skeptics Of The Holy Spirit To a skeptic the Holy Spirit may seem as another description of God the Father that the Spirit is not a separate person at all. Some acknowledging the Spirit contend the Spirit is not fully God. However, Scripture supports the existence of the Trinity, including the person of the Holy Spirit, sharing the same authority, and power as God the Father and the Son. Through the works of the Spirit, skeptics can be converted by perceiving the things of God once hidden. Of great importance, Wesley identified the Holy Spirit as one of the three persons of the Trinity. That the Spirit of God had all the attributes of God, and is eternally in communion the fullness of God (Oden, 2012, p.105–106). Our God has said, "I am the Lord; that is my ... The Bible tells us while Jesus has ascended above and is seated at the right hand of the Father, the Holy Spirit dwells in believers here ( Matthew 22:44, Psalm 101:1, Acts 1:5, John 14:17). It is the indwelling of the Holy Spirit that allows believers to see the truth, and perceive the Spirit himself – "He is the Holy Spirit, who leads into all truth. The world cannot receive him, because it isn't looking for him and doesn't recognize him. But you know him, because he lives with you now and later will be in you." John 14:17 (NLT). So it is by the infilling of the Holy Spirit, that one not only experiences works of the Spirit, but confirmation of the Spirit Himself. In conclusion Scripture confirms the person of the Holy Spirit, sharing equally in the glory and authority of the Godhead. The Spirit of God possesses attributes reserved only for Almighty God and reviles the things of God to man, including the presence of the Spirit ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 46. The Holy Spirit The Trinity is seen at work throughout the Old Testament, but what many people do not realize is how often the Holy Spirit is seen. The Holy Spirit is at work forming and shaping the history of the Bible. He guided rulers, came upon the mighty king Saul, and, even more amazing, the Spirit could make a stubborn obstinate heart obedient. He gave the men words to say and write so that people can read the message of the Lord. The Spirit is both hidden and revealed throughout the Bible. The Old Testament believers did not always realize the full power of the Holy Spirit, but taking a closer look at the work he did, we see that the Holy Spirit was extremely vital. Beginning in the book of Genesis the Holy Spirit is seen and takes an active role. "Now the earth was formless and empty, darkness was over the surface of the deep, and the Spirit of God was hovering over the waters." (Gen 1:2) At the time of creation the spirit was called ruah meaning, wind or breath of life. He was there at the beginning breathing the breath of life into human kind. The Holy Spirit was there at the forming of the earth and all that we know. He did not have to be there, nor did it meet a need of his, but out of his grace he chose to do it. The Holy Spirit along with the Trinity created all things, including humans. "The Spirit of God has made me; the breath of the Almighty gives me life." (Job 33:4) God gives man the breath of life, the Holy Spirit. When they die God withdraws the breath of life from ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 50. The Work Of The Holy Spirit In this passage of scripture Paul was preaching to the people of Athens and he recognized that they were very religious in every way but they didn't know God. The work of the Holy Spirit is just as real today as it was in the book of Acts. My message to you today is no different than Paul's was to his congregation of believers in the book of Acts. Do you know God? We may proceed with all our traditions and religious practices but if we do not know our Father we are struggling through life on our own strength. Our hearts and minds need to be touched by the Power of God. So many lives are broken, relationships damaged and despair is a guest in so many homes. There are prodigals wandering in the wilderness that God desires to bring home to their rightful place with the Father. Just like the people of Athens we must get to know the God we worship. We need an intimate relationship with our Father through the power of his Holy Spirit dwelling in us and working through us for the extension of God's Kingdom. The Holy Spirit is like the air we breathe to the Christian Church. We must realize the presence of the Holy Spirit surrounding and enveloping us is just as crucial to our Christian walk as the air we breathe. Just as we cannot survive without air we cannot live empowered Christian lives without the Holy Spirit. Baptism and the Holy Spirit Baptism and the Holy Spirit in the Book of Acts Water Baptism vs Baptized with the Spirit and Power The book of Acts begins with Jesus ' parting words to His apostles before His ascension to the right hand of God the Father. But the following two consideration indicate that the unique baptism of the Holy Spirit which accompanied the apostle 's ministry is not normative for the Lord 's church. This is why the church has taught that the baptism of water in the name of the Holy Trinity is a sacrament which works faith and gives the forgiveness of all sin, while the unique baptism of the Holy Spirit is not a sacrament, but a sign of the unique office of Jesus (ascended to the right hand of God) and of the apostles (sent by Jesus to teach His Word). ● Second, as just mentioned, the signs that accompanied Jesus ' ministry also accompany the apostolic preaching, showing that their word was pure. • 54. The Holy Spirit Of The Trinity The Holy Spirit is one of the persons in the Trinity. The Holy Spirit lives in my soul because I accepted Jesus Christ as my Lord and Savior. I think the Holy Spirit is an influence, energy and a person. He connects me with God in my relationship with Him. I believe the Holy Spirit helps direct my thoughts and actions to be glorifying to God. Even though there are many verses about the Holy Spirit, I enjoy and meditate on the verse found in 2 Timothy 1:7, "For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind." Also when I sin, the conviction I feel confirms the presence of the Holy Spirit that is within me. 2. Give proofs for the personality of the Holy Spirit. There are many proofs for the personality of the Holy Spirit. He has qualities and actions that a person has or does. He has a mind (Rom. 8:27) that exudes intelligence, expresses feelings (Eph. 4:30), and reveals His will. He can speak and show the truth to us the same way a person could because He is a person. He is relatable just like any other person. Evidence of these actions are found with the apostles (Acts 15:28), with Jesus (John 16:14), to each Person in the Trinity (Matthew 28:19), and to Himself (Luke 4:14). 3. The Holy Spirit is described as the Oil (Luke 4: 14–18), as the Dove (when Jesus was baptized) Matthew 10:16. The Living Water also describes the Holy Spirit in John 4:4. In addition, there are many works accomplished by the Holy Spirit both historically and currently. Do we explain ourselves in a precise way or do we leave people with unanswered questions and confusion? First let us seek what it is that the orthodox Christians and the Wesleyan– Arminian believe according to the Trinity. • 62. The Spirit Of The Holy Spirit There are many believers, faiths and doctrinal teachings that acknowledge the power of the Holy Spirit, however, they do not ascribe his actions and the power to an individual essence but rather to mere influence. I do believe that the Holy Spirit is a person, in–fact the Third Person of the Trinity who is equal with the Father and the Son in essence. When it comes to the individual acts of the Holy Spirit as recorded in scripture, Elmer Town says it best "the Holy Spirit does a number of things only a person can do; and it is the unfolding of this precept that I believe continuously bears witness to the person of the Holy Spirit. I also believe that the Holy Spirit, the Third person of the Trinity is also God and as God, He is worthy of our worship and our praise. I believe in the ministry and the indwelling power of the Holy Spirit; and despite all of the external influences and desires of the flesh, the believer by the power of the Holy Spirit is enabled to live a godly life in this present ungodly and evil world (Ezekiel 36:2, Acts 2:38). I believe that the indwelling of the Holy Spirit is to manifest the active presence of God in this world especially in the life of the believer so to purify and convict us of our sins (1 Cor 6:11, John 6:8–11 and Acts 7:51) . From the foundation and creation of the world scripture bears witness to the power of the Holy Spirit. • 64. The Holy Spirit : The Holy Spirit Of God The Holy Spirit of God is the active force or power in one's life, which most certainly includes spiritual formation (Pettit, 2008, p. 46). When Jesus was speaking with his disciples he made it clear – by using the analogy of a vine and branches – that apart from him they could do nothing (John 15:5). Only if one is connected to Christ will they have the ability to bear fruit and the way Jesus empowers those connected to him is through the Holy Spirt that that father will send in his name (John 14:26). The fact is that the triune God dwells in the Christian in and through the Holy Spirit. One sees this when they place multiple passages together to gain a full understanding of this concept. For example, Jesus made it clear that he and the father would come and make their home with the disciple (John 14:23). In 1 Corinthians 6:19 Paul reminds the Corinthians that their bodies are the very temple of God because the Holy Spirit dwells in them which is similar to what Jesus said would happen when he sent the Holy Spirit after his resurrection and ascension (John 14:17, 16:7). The fact that those who are connected to Christ are indwelt by the Trinity and empowered by the Spirit of God remains true for Christians today. In Acts 1:8 Jesus had promised the disciples power when the Holy Spirit came upon them and in Acts 2:38 Peter, having preached Christ crucified and raised from the dead, made it clear that those who, by faith, were baptized into Christ would receive the gift of the ... It's a sad fact that many Bible–believing Christians do not engage in any real service for the Lord. Many will attend worship services and tithe faithfully, but do little else in the way of service to the Lord. Paul told the Ephesians to "walk circumspectly, not as fools, but as wise, redeeming the time, because the days are evil. Wherefore be ye not unwise, but understanding what the will of the Lord is." When that happens, we let them know it whether by throwing something or yelling at the television. Performance matters! How we present ourselves matters! Paul uses the Greek verb "paristēmi," or "to present" which is a non–imperative verb. It's interesting because he choose not to use words such as yield or surrender. The verb "to present" implies a happiness and willingness to offer oneself. Think about a wedding. As soon as a couple kisses, the preacher will always say, "I present to you, Mr. and Mrs....." What would happen if the preacher instead said, "I yield to you, Mr. and Mrs...." or "I surrender to you, Mr. and Mrs....?" It would be kind of weird! As the bride is willing to take her new husband's name for the rest of her life by exchanging her old name for a new name, we should be willing to take the name of Christ for the rest of our lives and be known as a follower of Christ. After we've accepted Christ, it's logical that we would want to serve Him for the rest of our lives. In the same verse, Paul uses a unique word for "service." The Greek word he uses means "service rendered for hire." When did Christ hire us to serve Him? Paul reminds the Corinthians, "for ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God's." Also, the Holy Spirit is the one that God gave to us as a guide, to direct and teach us in living a Holy life (King James Version, John 14:16). The Holy Spirit is the voice inside of us that tells us when something is not right with the choices that we have made. The voice inside of us comes from God, who loves and cares enough to show us our error that we have made. Also, the Holy Spirit is part of the Trinity; where God transformed into three persons, the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. When the Apostle Paul was planting church in his missionary journey, he preached lots about the duty of the Holy Spirit, and the role that he plays in our lives for example in Roman 8:1–8. In view of this scripture, there is a very distinct difference between the human flesh and the Holy Spirit. The Apostle Paul said that as long we become Christian, the Spirit of Jesus Christ has set us free from the worldly law of sin. Whatever the flesh could not do Jesus Christ has come to paid it all and to set us free from condemnation. What is the Activity of the Holy Spirit? The Bible talks about several roles that the Holy Spirit plays in the lives of people today. The first thing that the Holy Spirit does is he provides conviction of sin to all people. John 16:8 said, "And when he comes, he will reprove the world of sin, and of righteousness, and of judgment". Also, the Holy Spirit works in several ways for many believers that follow Christ.
