• Art / science of identifying the best information for the
organization and providing context and order to it.
• Gather resources and present a variety of choices for employees.
• Employees can choose what’s most relevant to their needs.
• L&D professionals need to move from creating contents to
curating contents.
4. 1. Assess Organization’s needs and Learning
Moments
• - For whom you are curating for and why ?
- Focus on device training, using machines or digital skills,
compliance training , process training , skills enhancement
training – leadership and communication.
- identify learning moments – where do they learn and how they
learn – informal communication and during lunches.
5. 2.New Learning Model
• Need learning platform not learning management system
• Need to consider the technology and platform to use
• Example of curation tools : Anders Pink and Scoop.it
• Curated contents : Udemy for Business, Youtube, TED Talks ,
• Slack – peer to peer sharing
• Need to consider how the content will be hosted and accessed and
are the accessible from all devices. Laptop , tab and smartphone
and can we integrate them with existing systems in the
organization

• Curation has potential to create highly personalized learning
experience based on employee’s specific needs and preferences.
• L&D team need to create relevant, personal interaction for
employees that enhances their experience. Can use insights based
on recipient’s personal data and behavioral data about the actions
of similar employees. Examples offer individual learners
recommendations what course to take and what others are taking
so that they stay engaged and motivated in their learning journey.
• L&D chatbots also helps. Act like personal assistants to point
direction in the curated libraries of content.
7. 4. Get Line Managers Involved
• Managers work together with their team to identify gaps and
career goals
• Individual are more committed if their managers involve in their
learning and career.
• Key to boost learning engagement across the organization.
8. 5.Get People’s Feedback
• Let people rate the content that they have used.
• Enable L&D team to know which is the most popular content and
understand individual preferences. From this info also would be
recommend more personalized curated content.
• L&D can work with employee to curate contents based on their
needs.
• Tie curation efforts with business outcome. Example. Curated
unconscious bias, L&D team can track inclusion metrics during
engagement surveys or managers performance rating.
