The History Of The Nfl
The History of the NFL
The great phenomenon known as the NFL actually started over a soccer game. In 1869, Rutgers and
Princeton played a college soccer football game, which was the first of its kind, it took place
November 6. The game itself used modified London Football Association rules, which were rules
for soccer (USA soccer, everyone else Football.) And after that game was played, over the next 7
years, rugby began to capture the eye of many, and modern football began to start its development
from rugby. This isn't how American football was official started or anything, but it gives a
background as to what it was derived from, and how they got the idea. And to make a point here
really quick, it was not called the NFL until a later date. 7 years after the game with Rutgers and
Princeton, the Massasoit convention took place, and there, the first ever American football rules
were written. Walter Camp, who would become known as the father of American football, first
became involved with the game. Nothing of serious magnitude happened after this for quite a few
years, but in 1892, which was an era in which football was a major attraction of local athletic clubs,
a very intense competition took place between two Pittsburgh–area clubs, the Allegheny Athletic
Association, or AAA, and the Pittsburgh Athletic Club, or PAC. And this game proved to be a very
historic game. This game led to the first ever professional football player. Former Yale All–

Tom Brady Is Better Than Peyton Manning
Tom Brady is obviously better than Peyton Manning in so many ways but the main reason on why
he's a better Quarterback is because Brady has more Super Bowl rings than Peyton Manning and
that is everything to a player. Another thing that will prove that Brady is the superior Quarterback is
that he has the important Stats locked down. Like for example the interception rate, Brady's is
extremely low compared to Peyton Manning and a lot of other Quarterbacks too. Now you know
you're better than Peyton Manning when you go down as the most winningest Quarterback of all
time which Brady is in the regular season and in the playoffs as well. Now with these facts i know
that i can prove Tom Brady is the better Quarterback than Peyton Manning. Thesis Statement: Tom
Brady is a better Quarterback than Peyton Manning because his important stats are better, has more
Super Bowl rings, and has the better Record as a Starting Quarterback in the NFL. The reason why i
think that this is the most important reason why is that a Super Bowl is the main goal heading into a
season and when you achieve that goal five times that's impressive ("Tom", Biography). Which
Peyton Manning has done it twice but that's nothing to Brady. Plus Peyton Manning only played
good in one of those Super Bowls while Brady has never played a bad Super Bowl in his career
("Peyton", Biography). The recent Super Bowl was the Patriots vs Falcons and the final score in that
game was 34–28, it will go down in history as one

The First Super bowl There have been 50 superbowls so far in the NFL and a lot of special
moments, but here are some of them. The first super bowl, super bowl 1, Packers and Chiefs. The
score was Packers 35 and Chiefs 10. The teams were led by coach Vince Lombardi and the
quarterback Bart Starr. The Chief's coach was Hank Stram and their quarterback was Len Dawson.
The super bowl trophy is named "The Lombardi Trophy" because of Vince Lombardi winning the
first super bowl. 1972 Undefeated Dolphins Only one team, that's it. The Dolphins are the only team
to have a complete undefeated season. The 1972 Dolphins were led by coach Don Shula and
quarterback Dan Marino. The Dolphins that year in the season shut out 3 teams with 2 games

It was the Panthers and the Broncos, the Panthers only lost one game going to the super bowl. In the
game the Broncos defence was making the Panther's quarterback Cam Newton struggle. The
Broncos made them have fumbles and throw interceptions. They came out with a win 24–10 with
the Broncos being super bowl champions. That was the year Peyton Manning retired and Von Miller
was the MVP. Cowboys Super Bowl History Cowboys are one of the NFL teams to have the most
super bowl wins. Cowboys have 5 super bowl wins, Troy Aikman the quarterback for that time took
the Cowboys to 3 out of the 5 superbowls they won. The Cowboys won the super bowl in 1972,
1978, 1993, 1994, and 1996. This year the Cowboys are making it to the playoffs and have a chance
at the super bowl and another super bowl win in their franchise. Steelers Super Bowl History Just
like the Cowboys, the Steelers are one of the team's leading in super bowl wins. The Steelers have
won 6 super bowls, just one more than the Cowboys have. The Steelers had a quarterback also who
won most of their games and that was Terry Bradshaw who had led the Steelers to 4 superbowls in
just 6 years. The Steelers won the super bowl in the years 1975, 1976, 1979, 1980, 2006, and 2009.
Terry was the MVP in the 1979 super bowl. Today the Steelers have yet to find a super bowl win

Nascar History
Nascar History
NASCAR is one of the most rapidly growing sports in the world. There are people who think that
NASCAR is just a bunch of hicks going around in circles, but it takes skill to drive at two–hundred
miles per hour. I am going to talk about the history of NASCAR, early drivers of NASCAR, the
three NASCAR divisions, the rules, and the new technology. Two of NASCAR's oldest races are the
ones that are at Charlotte, North Carolina and Daytona international Speedways. Charlotte Motor
Speedway was designed and built in 1959 by Bruton Smith. Curtis Turner, stock car's earliest
driving star, was Smith's business partner. Turner became one of the first drivers on the NASCAR ...

Sprint Cup Series cars are unique in automobile racing. The engines are powerful enough to reach
speeds of over 200 mph (320 km/h), but heavy weight – coupled with a (relatively) simple
aerodynamic package – makes for poor handling. Their bodies and chassis are strictly regulated to
ensure parity or equality, and electronics are generally Spartan in nature. The idea for the Truck
Series dates back to 1993. A group of off–road racers (Dick Landfield, Jimmy Smith, Jim Venable,
and Frank "Scoop" Vessels) wanted a bigger audience for truck racing. They made a prototype for a
NASCAR–style pickup truck. These were first shown off during the 1994 Daytona 500, and four
demonstration races were held during the season. The first event at Mesa Marin Raceway had six
trucks. The other three events were held at Portland Speedway, Saugus Speedway, and Tucson
Raceway Park. Tucson Raceway Park held four events that winter, which were nationally televised
during the Winter Heat Series coverage. These trucks proved to be extremely popular, and it led to
NASCAR creating the series, originally known as the "Super Truck Series" in 1995.
The rules of NASACAR changed a lot in the years since NASCAR started. The rules kept changing
due to advancement in technology, which meant different rules for safety. Some of the rules today
are that NASCAR allows bump drafting (helps drivers conserve gas) on restrictor plate tracks, no
speeding on entrance or exit of pit

Tom Brady: NFL Quarterback
One of the most famous quarterbacks of all time in the NFL is the Patriots' quarterback, Tom Brady.
He has come a long way from his birthplace to make something of himself in New England. New
England is lucky that Tom Brady was drafted to the New England Patriots, because it is his skill
combined with Bill Belichick's tactics that has brought home four Super Bowl wins to New
England. He was born on August 3, 1977 in San Mateo California. His full name is Thomas Edward

The New Golden Age of Television
Television is so popular that it is almost a vital part of life to most people. According to the article
"The Real Golden Age of Television", the first successful demonstration of electronic television was
introduced on September 7, 1927. (Handy & William). It was designed by Philo Taylor Farnsworth.
Charles Jenkins is also an important person to the creation of television because he created the first
mechanical TV on June 23, 1925. (D'Addiro). These two men are responsible for what we have
today; good quality television. Since then television has brought tears, laughter, joy, and many other
memorable moments to the lives of people. Television came to its own in the 1940's and 1950's.
During this time period television began to emerge into the households many families. This was
something new to people. Never would they have thought of being able to sit in watch entertainment
out of a TV screen. Then in the 1964 was the beginning of the "old" golden age of television. The
reason for this claim is for the invention of color television made it more popular (Clapp). All
television programs were in black and white before this unbelievable creation. This gave television
viewers a better experience than the past because they were able to see things differently. Though
the era was magnificent there was more to come. Time advanced into the 2000's and so did
television. Many

system ranks, and by the age of 16, he had made his first appearance for Barcelona. Messi put
himself in the record books on May 1, 2005, as the youngest player to ever score a goal for the

Movie Report : Cinderella Stories
Abstract
The reason I decided to research and write about cinderella stories in sports is very simple, they
make sports fun and exciting. Everyone loves to root on the underdogs and see them win the "David
vs. Goliath" battle. There are so many different cinderella stories to choose from while they spread
throughout every sport. While researching, I found that although there have been thousands of them,
some cinderella stories get more publicity than others. Some stories get told more than others for
some reason, why is that? This essay will help us all understand that question a little better.
Cinderella stories are constantly arising and are one of the reasons sports are so enjoyable. It is
important to conduct this research because it needs to be brought to people's attention that sports are
more than just a game with a winner and a loser. Sports are stories that are told through action.
Sports introduce us to cinderella stories who make our experience that much more enjoyable.
Cinderella stories are a huge part of the athletic world and they deserve so much more attention. The
main point of this research is to provide people with a better understanding to who and what
cinderella stories truly are. Why they are considered cinderella stories and why their stories deserve
to be told. Keywords: Cinderella Story, Sports
Cinderella Stories in Sports and Why They Make Sports Great The sports world has always been

Mike Webster Mike Webster was a center for the Pittsburgh Steelers, and played for 17 years. He set
the record for 220 games played with the Steelers. The center on a team is the person who always
gets hit every play and most of the hits are to the head. Mike Webster helped the Steelers go to 4 out
of their 6 super bowls and he went to 9 pro bowls. He got hit so many times that he got a problem
with his brain called (CTE) which is a brain disease that a lot of athletes get with a history of

of that. Mike Webster was the player of those 22 that played for the longest in Pittsburgh(15 years).
Even though he was the last person from the 22 to go away from the Steelers he was the first to die

Survivor Fan Culture
Posted on an Internet forum, this comment from a Survivor fan demonstrates a key dynamic of the
fan community constructed around the program. This paper investigates elements of the audience
reception of the American reality TV show Survivor (Mark Burnett Productions for CBS, 2000–,
US), and the comment above raises the central issue I aim to address here. By exploring the show in
terms of its fan culture and examining the Survivor fandom in relation to existing theoretical and

Spoiling practices, changing fan/producer dynamics, and new media and consumerist engagement
with the show has produced a competitive fan culture unique in its apparent anti–communal and
decidedly negative undercurrents. What I have described as the often conflictual and competitive
nature of this fan culture – or rather the picture of a selected aggregation of fans – makes sense if
one considers that these fans didn't originate in a traditionally 'marginalized' subculture (as with
earlier conceptions of sci–fi fans, for instance). The Survivor fandom is conflictual because the
source of fans' interest isn't the show, but rather the overall fractious and competitive culture itself.
Fandom scholarship and research on the Survivor fandom in particular will require continual
analysis of fan participation and online engagement, as dynamics seem to shift somewhat over time.
Scholarship, too, will need to begin more thoroughly incorporating fans' use of new media as I have
only conducted surface–level analysis

Cap Situation Forced Seahawks To Release McDaniel The NFC champions, Seattle Seahawks has
released Tony McDaniel, their starting defensive tackle because of the team's salary cap situation.
The 30–year–old was originally signed to a two–year contract and was set to make $2.5 million in
base salary next season. This was an expected move for the team after they signed quarterback
Russell Wilson and linebacker Bobby Wagner to separate long–term contract extensions worth
$130.6 million. Wilson signed a four–year, $87.6 million contract with $31 million in guarantees
while Wagner was extended with a four–year, $43 million deal. McDaniel started for 29 in the last

Relegated again in 1931, Manchester United became a yo–yo club, achieving its all–time lowest
position of 20th place in the Second Division in 1934. Following the death of the club 's principal
benefactor, J. H. Davies, in October 1927, the club 's finances deteriorated to the extent that
Manchester United would likely have gone bankrupt had it not been for James W. Gibson, who, in
December 1931, invested £2,000 and assumed control of the club.[19] In the 1938–39 season, the
last year of football before the Second World War, the club finished 14th in the First Division.[19]

Babes in Denmark in 1955 In October 1945, the impending resumption of football led to the
managerial appointment of Matt Busby, who demanded an unprecedented level of control over team
selection, player transfers and training sessions.[20] Busby led the team to second–place league
finishes in 1947, 1948 and 1949, and to FA Cup victory in 1948. In 1952, the club won the First

Who Is Responding To The Wii
9–709–448 REV: JANUARY 4, 2010 ANDREI HAGIU HANNA HAŁABURDA Responding to the
Wii? Kazuo Hirai, chief executive of Sony Computer Entertainment Inc. (SCEI), had just gotten off
a conference call with journalists. It was late August 2008, and the reporters were inquiring about
Afrika, a new safari videogame for Sony's PlayStation 3 (PS3) console that allowed players to watch
wild animals and take virtual pictures. Hirai could not help feeling frustrated. Most of the
conversation–like many others with Sony outsiders in the past month–had revolved around two
questions: Was Afrika Sony's answer to the casual games that were partly responsible for the
runaway success of rival Nintendo's Wii videogame console? And more generally, ... Show more

Responding to the Wii? Market Birth, Collapse, and Rebirthb The videogame industry got off to an
uncertain start in 1972, when television maker Magnavox introduced Odyssey, the first home
videogame console. Priced at $100 (the equivalent of $516 in 2008 dollars),c Odyssey needed a
television screen to project its very limited action. The system came with 12 games, including
versions of tennis and ping pong, each on a printed circuit board.5 However, partly due to some
uninspired marketing and distribution decisions, Odyssey's appeal proved limited. Magnavox sold
more than 100,000 game systems by year–end, but sales quickly declined and Odyssey was pulled
from the market.6 Enter Atari Around the same time, a young entrepreneur named Nolan Bushnell
was developing arcade games with the use of then–new microprocessor technology.7 In 1972, the
company he started, Atari, launched its first hit game–an arcade version of ping pong.8 In Pong, two
players batted a ball of light back and forth between on–screen paddles. The game instructions were
simple: "Avoid missing ball for high score."9 Pong was an immediate success: 8,500 arcade
consoles were sold in the first year.10 Bushnell

Steve Mcnair And The Hall Of Fame
Steve McNair was one of the greatest quarterbacks of all time and perhaps could have been in the
Hall of Fame. You will learn about his life, family, career and why he wasn't able to make it to the
Hall of Fame. Steve McNair was born on February 14, 1973 in Mt. Olive Mississippi. He was the
son of Selma and Lucille McNair. When he was young, his father left the family. His mother,
Lucille, raised the 5 boys on her own in a ramshackle house. She toiled as a factory worker and
money was limited. She instilled loyalty, fairness, appreciation for education and a strong work ethic
in the boys. Steve's four brothers are Fred, Jason, Michael and Tim McNair. Fred is the oldest son of

Mt. Olive, MI. At 22, he was the Oilers highest paid player. In the offseason that year he was tutored
intensively. His primary mission in the 95 and 96 season was to absorb knowledge and make the
leap to the NFL. During his rookie season when the starting quarterback was injured, Steve played
against the Detroit Lions the second half of the game. He completed 16/27 passes for 203 yards
including a TD. He started the next 2 games and won both. During 1996, he played 10 games and
started 4. The team went 8–8, just missing the playoffs. During the 1997 season, Steve had 674
rushing yards, which was the third highest for a QB in the NFL. He had the second best overall
rating of any QB drafted in the last 6 years. In the 1998 season, the Titans placed second in the AFC
Central. In 1999 Steve had a fantastic performance against the Bengals in a 36–35 win with 21/32
passing with 341 yards and 3 TD's. He led Tennessee to the AFC Championship. The Titans moved
on to their 1st Super Bowl berth, where they faced the St. Louis Rams. Steve became the second

How Did The British Influence Of Sports In Ancient Egypt
Egyptian sports have a strong British influence mainly because they were occupied by the British
from 1882–1922. This introduced the Egyptian citizens to British sports such as football, basketball,
handball, and squash.
Unlike the other sports there is belief that football originated in ancient Egypt according to Alaa Al
Aswany of the New York Times. "The Greek historian Herodotus, who is thought to have visited
Egypt in about 460 B.C. and again in 448 B.C., described the sight of young men kicking around a
ball made from goatskin and straw." However, it was not until 1882 when the Egyptians adopted the
official laws of football and it almost immediately became Egypt's national game. The game's
popularity in Egypt prompted the founding of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Essay on Matrix Year 11 Draft for Reference(Not Plagiarism)
Mat MPS 1 Part A: Determining fair rank between teams(no ties) Let win=3, draw=1 and lose=0.
The reason for this weighting method is because it is natural for the loser not to get a point. Also,
there must be a visible gap between winners and draw players. This can be proved by contradiction
proof. Blue | B | Crimson | C | Green | G | Orange | O | Red | R | Yellow | Y | Assume that win=2
draw=1 and lose=0. If the supremacy matrix is calculated, tie always occurs, which proves that if
there is a small gap between win and draws, that supremacy matrix isn't valid. This is the teams and
their initial letters, arranged by alphabetical order. Then, the diagraph below is converted into the
following matrix. M= ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
However, it is fair to provide lesser coefficient to M3, due to its relation with the original data. This
means, the coefficient of M3 must be lesser than the first or second order Matrix. Therefore, the
coefficient of M3 is 0.4, which is smaller than any of M or M2. S= M+0.5M2+0.4M3 = = The rank
order is found as same as if the coefficient of M3 was different. The rank order is Oranges, Reds,
Blues, Yellows, Crimsons and Greens. This rank has escalated the rank of Red Team into 2nd from
3rd, without any ties. This suggests the validity of the Supremacy Matris, S= M+0.5M2+0.4M3.
Justification for the calculation The reason why I used S= M+0.5M2+0.4M3 is because of the
reliability of the real data. In the dominance matrix M, not every cases are examined. However, even
though escalating the coefficient can be considered as a solution, I chose to use M3 because if the
rank order was same all the time in Supremacy Matrix including second–order matrix, I would have
chose to increase the coefficient of M2. However, not every cases had same order. In fact, they had
insufficient reliability to use as the Supremacy Matrix. As the alternative solution, M3 is used and it
proved the efficiency of using M3 in the Supremacy Matrix. Also, as it can be seen in the second–
order Supremacy Matrix, second–order Matrix has lesser coefficient. To keep this trend, M3 had
lesser coefficient than M2, resulting the Supremacy Matrix of S=

Palko. He only played in three games against Ohio, Nebraska, and South Florida. He finished the
season with one completion for 11 yards. At Delaware Flacco saw his first full–time action in the
2006 season. He threw for 2,783 yards, and 18 touchdowns with 10 interceptions and Delaware
struggled to a 5–6 record. They missed the FCS Playoffs. In the 2007 season he led his team to an

Interestingly, 1991, the year when Nintendo launched the highly popular Super NES in the
US, was also the year that saw Nintendo's vision become Sony's opportunity–and the creation of
what could be described as Nintendo's "greatest challenge" for over a decade – the Sony PlayStation
("PS"). Nintendo had wanted to incorporate CD–ROM into their Super
NES, and Sony had agreed to create the PS for this purpose. However, over the next two years,
conflicts of vision between Nintendo and Sony continued, and the two finally parted ways.
Nintendo went ahead with Philips technology, 4 and Sony was left with the PS, which the company
decided to continue developing. Given Sony's clout and resources, when the PS and its wide range
of games were finally released in Japan in 1994, the console was an instant resounding success. In
1995, Sony released the PS in the US, totally uprooting Nintendo's established name in the industry.
For many years, Nintendo had been a dominant player in the video game industry. It had sold more

Law of One Price: Price Variation of Rice in West Bengal
Price Variation of Rice in West Bengal
Abstract
There is a saying that goes: rice and fish make a Bengali. West Bengal is a predominantly paddy
growing state where 5,719,800 hectare of land is under paddy cultivation. The state of West Bengal
has always contributed nearly 14–16 per cent of the all India production of rice and productivity of
rice in West Bengal has always been higher than the all India average.
Significant variation in the price of rice has being observed across the state at every point in time.

In economics, arbitrage is the practice of taking advantage of a price difference between two or
more markets: striking a combination of matching deals that capitalize upon the imbalance, the
profit being the difference between the market prices.
Arbitrage has the effect of causing prices in different markets to converge. As a result of
arbitrage, the prices of commodities in different markets tend to converge to the same prices, in all
markets, in each category. The speed at which prices converge is a measure of market efficiency.
Arbitrage tends to reduceprice discrimination by encouraging people to buy an item where the price
is low and resell it where the price is high, as long as the buyers are not prohibited from reselling
and the transaction costs of buying, holding and reselling are small relative to the difference in
prices in the different markets.

San Siro had also hosted Supercoppa Italiana (Italian Super Cup) 11 times in which on each
occasion, either Milanese club participated, including 2006 when Inter Milan and Roma met on
three consecutive occasions. Inter Milan overcame a 3–0 deficit after 34 minutes to win 4–3 after
extra time, with Luis Figo scoring the winning goal in extra time. Two years later, Roma scored a
late goal to the match in regulation at 2–2; a penalty shootout decided the outcome and Inter Milan
prevailed 6–5 in the shootout. Finally, Andriy Shevchenko scored a hat trick in 2004 as those were
the only goals against Lazio. But San Siro takes on more meaning when Milan 's Derby della

Best Quarterback
When thinking about the "greatest" quarterback of all time, someone may think of Peyton Manning
or Joe Montana. While both were exceptional players, one player from the Patriots has been brought
up more frequently as time goes on. This dynasty team from New England has had continued
success over the past 15 years and even had that almost magical season in 2007. With all this
success, two people are the main focus of it, Tom Brady and Bill Belichick. Now, while Bill
Belichick does the work from the sideline, the main focus is on Brady and whether or not he truly is
the greatest quarterback to ever play the game. Some may say that he is a "cheater" because of
deflategate or Montana is the greatest however, Brady makes a great case as the greatest ... Show

Also with Brady still playing he has the ability to cement his name as the greatest and end the
discussion. When a team has a quarterback like Brady who has lead them to 12 out of the last 13
division championships and has never had a losing season in his career, it is very difficult not to call
him the greatest quarterback to play. With all of the records and wins, Tom Brady has a great resume
as the greatest quarterback to play the

Archie Manning Research Paper
Who comes to attention when individuals envision the perfect NFL quarterback? Joe Namath, Dan
Marino, and Joe Montana are all familiar names. What about Eli Manning? Most people think of Eli
Manning as Peyton's little brother; however, what if Eli is far more than he is believed to be? Eli
Manning may not be deemed an elite quarterback by some, but he is actually one of the most
unruffled and composed quarterbacks in the league at decisive, game time moments. Eli Manning
was not always the tranquil, placid quarterback that we see today. He was once a young child who
was not engrossed in football or sports at all. Being seven and five years younger than his elder
brothers, Cooper and Peyton, he was never tangled in their loud, often bloody fraternal battles over
basketball or checkers or life. "I ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Eli was ready as he rejected offers from Texas, LSU, and Tennessee – Peyton's alma mater. Eli chose
the University of Mississippi, where Archie played and was a legend. The reminders of Archie came
at him from every direction. Even the speed limit was eight teen, Archie's retired uniform number.
Eli often did interviews in the Manning Room, which is filled with his dad's memorabilia. Although
it was not long before Eli was leaving his own mark at Ole Miss, He broke forty–seven school
records, including several that had belonged to his father (Lawrence 2). After college, Eli followed
in his brothers footsteps, becoming the No. 1 pick in the 2004 NFL Draft. The New York Giants
traded four draft picks to the San Diego Chargers for Manning with the dream of being led to a third
Super Bowl Championship. Eli was very unreliable coming into the league. He would throw four
touchdown passes one week, and turn around the next week to throw four interceptions. The New
York fan base wanted him benched immediately; one newspaper even called him "Eli the Terrible"

The data was gathered for the monthly variation in price of rice across 19 districts over a period of
five years. The data broadly indicates that the prices in northern districts of the state such as Siliguri,

Nevertheless, with population growing at 1.04 per cent in this decade (2001 to 2006), the slow–
down is a matter of serious concern. The slowdown in production growth is primarily on account of
a slowdown in the growth of yields. Yields have grown at less than 2 per cent per annum over the
last ten years. In terms of absolute levels of rice yields in 2006–07, the districts of West Bengal can
be categorized into four groups as shown below.
There were three districts with yields above 3 tons per hectare (with Birbhum at the top) and three
districts of North Bengal with very low rice yields (below 2 tons per hectare). The latter three
districts, however, account for less than 10 per cent of area under rice cultivation.

The Minnesota Vikings: NFL Expansion Team
The Minnesota Vikings are a storied franchise that was an NFL expansion team in 1960 and they
played their first season in 1961. The vikings are currently in the NFC North Division, and before
that they were in the NFC Central Division. They first time they made the playoffs was in 1968, and
they have made the playoffs 27 times since making the playoffs last in 2015. The Vikings currently
hold 19 division titles, and 4 conference championships. They have one NFL championship that pre
dates the AFL–NFL merger. They won the championship in 1969. They have had 4 separate
stadiums with U.S. Bank Stadium being the newest. U.S. Bank was build upon the former site of

The 1990's saw a more success with 4 NFC Central Titles, 8 playoff appearances, and 2 NFC
Championship game appearances. 1998 was a year to remember for the vikings, finishing with a
record of 15–1. They quarterback Randall Cunningham, a future Hall–of–Fame receiver Cris Carter,
and the great rookie Randy Moss. They never scored less than 24 points a game. They set an NFL
record 556 points in one season. Their kicker Gary Anderson, finished a perfect season without even
missing an extra point. In the NFC championship with two minutes to go, he missed 38–yard field
goal for the win against the Falcons. The Falcons ended up going to the Super Bowl that year and
losing. In 2000, the Vikings completed their 40th season with quarterback Daunte Culpepper and
running back Robert Smith who rushed for then a team record 1,521 yards and 7 touchdowns. They
made the playoffs, but lost in the conference championship 41–0 to the New York Giants. From
2001–2006, the vikings did not have much success at all. They made the playoffs once during that
time span. In 2006, the Vikings selected Adrian Peterson with the 7th pick in the

I Am A Huge Denver Broncos Fan
I'll start off by saying I am a huge Denver Broncos fan! I was born in Colorado and when I was little
I always saw the Broncos logo everywhere. My mom worked at a bank and the bank would always
have Bronco celebrations. Something that made me a very big Broncos fan was when one of my
mom's co–workers knew people who worked at the stadium and she got me an autographed photo of
the mascot! I thought that was an awesome gift! Also while I was growing up I was part of a daycare
in the summer that took all of us kids on field trips. I will never forget our leaders taking us to get a
tour of everything in and out of the Broncos stadium. It was like a dream come true! When I was in
the fourth grade my dad was selected to be a pastor in Beloit, ... Show more content on

The jerseys were mustard brown and they had brown and yellow striped socks. The public as well as
the players hated the socks and once the organization had changed their logo and colors the team
had a public bonfire and burned the striped socks ("History of NFL Uniforms")! In 1960, Coach
Frank Filchock was hired as head coach. The Broncos had their first game on September 9 in their
first stadium, known as Bears Stadium ("Broncos Fan Forum"). The Broncos played the Boston
Patriots and won. They would only win 3 more games until their season went to a downfall and had
a 4–9–1 record; the worst record in the AFL ("1960–Present"). Coach Jack Faulkner was hired in
1962 and in 1963 they won only two games ("1960"). Then in 1964 they fired Jack because of a 0–4
start to the season. Mac Speedie was then hired and the Broncos still had no luck with their season
ending terribly ("1960"). In 1965 Denver almost lost the franchise. A local ownership group took
control and rebuilt the team ("Denver Broncos"). They began going door to door asking if people
would like to donate and with Floyd Little's efforts on and off the field it helped enough to secure
the organization ("Denver Broncos"). In 1966 Ray Malavasi was hired but it led to a 4–10 ending.
He was then replaced by Lou Saban the following season ("1960–Present"). The stadium was also
named Mile High Stadium and would last until the year 2000 ("1960"). On August 5,

The Causes Of Early Basketball Dynasties In The United States
14.
Early Basketball Dynasties Several teams in both college and the professional level formed early
dynasties. Some say that this contributed to the unpopularity of the game during their reigns because
the outcomes were too predictable. In the NBA, the Minnesota Lakers had a dynasty going; led by
Mikan, they won championships in 5 of 6 seasons from 1949 to 1954. Even as the league changed
its rules, and as Mikan's scoring dipped, the Lakers rolled. However, the game itself was becoming
harder to watch. The Boston Celtics would continue where Minnesota left off. It started in 1957,
when the Boston Celtics defeated the St. Louis Hawks in a tough best of seven game series. That
was the first of an incredible 11 championships in 13 seasons.
Some say that the Celtics Destiny is the most incredible in history but the UCLA Bruins college
basketball team might have something to say about that. For 12 seasons, beginning with the 1963–
1964 season, Coach John Wooden and the Bruins won a record 10 NCAA titles; including seven in a
row. The only years they did not win were 1965–66 season where they had a bad run of injuries and
illnesses. Texas Western won that year and we'll discuss that importance later. The other year was
the 1973–1974 season. Coach Wooden was ill a good portion of that year and would retire the next
year. This was an amazing run and in my opinion solidified what is the greatest dynasty in the
history of sports. I say this because in college basketball you have

The History Of The Nfl

  • 1. The History Of The Nfl The History of the NFL The great phenomenon known as the NFL actually started over a soccer game. In 1869, Rutgers and Princeton played a college soccer football game, which was the first of its kind, it took place November 6. The game itself used modified London Football Association rules, which were rules for soccer (USA soccer, everyone else Football.) And after that game was played, over the next 7 years, rugby began to capture the eye of many, and modern football began to start its development from rugby. This isn't how American football was official started or anything, but it gives a background as to what it was derived from, and how they got the idea. And to make a point here really quick, it was not called the NFL until a later date. 7 years after the game with Rutgers and Princeton, the Massasoit convention took place, and there, the first ever American football rules were written. Walter Camp, who would become known as the father of American football, first became involved with the game. Nothing of serious magnitude happened after this for quite a few years, but in 1892, which was an era in which football was a major attraction of local athletic clubs, a very intense competition took place between two Pittsburgh–area clubs, the Allegheny Athletic Association, or AAA, and the Pittsburgh Athletic Club, or PAC. And this game proved to be a very historic game. This game led to the first ever professional football player. Former Yale All– American guard ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 3. Tom Brady Is Better Than Peyton Manning Tom Brady is obviously better than Peyton Manning in so many ways but the main reason on why he's a better Quarterback is because Brady has more Super Bowl rings than Peyton Manning and that is everything to a player. Another thing that will prove that Brady is the superior Quarterback is that he has the important Stats locked down. Like for example the interception rate, Brady's is extremely low compared to Peyton Manning and a lot of other Quarterbacks too. Now you know you're better than Peyton Manning when you go down as the most winningest Quarterback of all time which Brady is in the regular season and in the playoffs as well. Now with these facts i know that i can prove Tom Brady is the better Quarterback than Peyton Manning. Thesis Statement: Tom Brady is a better Quarterback than Peyton Manning because his important stats are better, has more Super Bowl rings, and has the better Record as a Starting Quarterback in the NFL. The reason why i think that this is the most important reason why is that a Super Bowl is the main goal heading into a season and when you achieve that goal five times that's impressive ("Tom", Biography). Which Peyton Manning has done it twice but that's nothing to Brady. Plus Peyton Manning only played good in one of those Super Bowls while Brady has never played a bad Super Bowl in his career ("Peyton", Biography). The recent Super Bowl was the Patriots vs Falcons and the final score in that game was 34–28, it will go down in history as one ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 5. Informative Essay On Cowboys The First Super bowl There have been 50 superbowls so far in the NFL and a lot of special moments, but here are some of them. The first super bowl, super bowl 1, Packers and Chiefs. The score was Packers 35 and Chiefs 10. The teams were led by coach Vince Lombardi and the quarterback Bart Starr. The Chief's coach was Hank Stram and their quarterback was Len Dawson. There are people who think that NASCAR is just a bunch of hicks going around in circles, but it takes skill to drive at two–hundred miles per hour. I am going to talk about the history of NASCAR, early drivers of NASCAR, the three NASCAR divisions, the rules, and the new technology. Two of NASCAR's oldest races are the ones that are at Charlotte, North Carolina and Daytona international Speedways. Charlotte Motor Speedway was designed and built in 1959 by Bruton Smith. Curtis Turner, stock car's earliest driving star, was Smith's business partner. Turner became one of the first drivers on the NASCAR ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Sprint Cup Series cars are unique in automobile racing. The engines are powerful enough to reach speeds of over 200 mph (320 km/h), but heavy weight – coupled with a (relatively) simple aerodynamic package – makes for poor handling. Their bodies and chassis are strictly regulated to ensure parity or equality, and electronics are generally Spartan in nature. The idea for the Truck Series dates back to 1993. A group of off–road racers (Dick Landfield, Jimmy Smith, Jim Venable, and Frank "Scoop" Vessels) wanted a bigger audience for truck racing. They made a prototype for a NASCAR–style pickup truck. These were first shown off during the 1994 Daytona 500, and four demonstration races were held during the season. The first event at Mesa Marin Raceway had six trucks. The other three events were held at Portland Speedway, Saugus Speedway, and Tucson Raceway Park. Tucson Raceway Park held four events that winter, which were nationally televised during the Winter Heat Series coverage. These trucks proved to be extremely popular, and it led to NASCAR creating the series, originally known as the "Super Truck Series" in 1995. The rules of NASACAR changed a lot in the years since NASCAR started. The rules kept changing due to advancement in technology, which meant different rules for safety. Some of the rules today are that NASCAR allows bump drafting (helps drivers conserve gas) on restrictor plate tracks, no speeding on entrance or exit of pit ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The New Golden Age Of Television Essay Theodore Brown Professor McCauley Intro to Humanities 16 November 2016 The New Golden Age of Television Television is so popular that it is almost a vital part of life to most people. According to the article "The Real Golden Age of Television", the first successful demonstration of electronic television was introduced on September 7, 1927. (Handy & William). It was designed by Philo Taylor Farnsworth. Charles Jenkins is also an important person to the creation of television because he created the first mechanical TV on June 23, 1925. (D'Addiro). These two men are responsible for what we have today; good quality television. Since then television has brought tears, laughter, joy, and many other memorable moments to the lives of people. Television came to its own in the 1940's and 1950's. During this time period television began to emerge into the households many families. This was something new to people. Never would they have thought of being able to sit in watch entertainment out of a TV screen. Then in the 1964 was the beginning of the "old" golden age of television. The reason for this claim is for the invention of color television made it more popular (Clapp). All television programs were in black and white before this unbelievable creation. • 26. Movie Report : Cinderella Stories Abstract The reason I decided to research and write about cinderella stories in sports is very simple, they make sports fun and exciting. Everyone loves to root on the underdogs and see them win the "David vs. Goliath" battle. There are so many different cinderella stories to choose from while they spread throughout every sport. While researching, I found that although there have been thousands of them, some cinderella stories get more publicity than others. Some stories get told more than others for some reason, why is that? This essay will help us all understand that question a little better. Cinderella stories are constantly arising and are one of the reasons sports are so enjoyable. It is important to conduct this research because it needs to be brought to people's attention that sports are more than just a game with a winner and a loser. Sports are stories that are told through action. Sports introduce us to cinderella stories who make our experience that much more enjoyable. Cinderella stories are a huge part of the athletic world and they deserve so much more attention. The main point of this research is to provide people with a better understanding to who and what cinderella stories truly are. Why they are considered cinderella stories and why their stories deserve to be told. The Survivor fandom is conflictual because the source of fans' interest isn't the show, but rather the overall fractious and competitive culture itself. Market Birth, Collapse, and Rebirthb The videogame industry got off to an uncertain start in 1972, when television maker Magnavox introduced Odyssey, the first home videogame console. Priced at $100 (the equivalent of $516 in 2008 dollars),c Odyssey needed a television screen to project its very limited action. The system came with 12 games, including versions of tennis and ping pong, each on a printed circuit board.5 However, partly due to some uninspired marketing and distribution decisions, Odyssey's appeal proved limited. Magnavox sold more than 100,000 game systems by year–end, but sales quickly declined and Odyssey was pulled from the market.6 Enter Atari Around the same time, a young entrepreneur named Nolan Bushnell was developing arcade games with the use of then–new microprocessor technology.7 In 1972, the company he started, Atari, launched its first hit game–an arcade version of ping pong.8 In Pong, two players batted a ball of light back and forth between on–screen paddles. This introduced the Egyptian citizens to British sports such as football, basketball, handball, and squash. The reason for this weighting method is because it is natural for the loser not to get a point. Also, there must be a visible gap between winners and draw players. This can be proved by contradiction proof. Blue | B | Crimson | C | Green | G | Orange | O | Red | R | Yellow | Y | Assume that win=2 draw=1 and lose=0. If the supremacy matrix is calculated, tie always occurs, which proves that if there is a small gap between win and draws, that supremacy matrix isn't valid. This is the teams and their initial letters, arranged by alphabetical order. Then, the diagraph below is converted into the following matrix. M= ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... However, it is fair to provide lesser coefficient to M3, due to its relation with the original data. This means, the coefficient of M3 must be lesser than the first or second order Matrix. Therefore, the coefficient of M3 is 0.4, which is smaller than any of M or M2. S= M+0.5M2+0.4M3 = = The rank order is found as same as if the coefficient of M3 was different. The rank order is Oranges, Reds, Blues, Yellows, Crimsons and Greens. This rank has escalated the rank of Red Team into 2nd from 3rd, without any ties. This suggests the validity of the Supremacy Matris, S= M+0.5M2+0.4M3. Justification for the calculation The reason why I used S= M+0.5M2+0.4M3 is because of the reliability of the real data. In the dominance matrix M, not every cases are examined. However, even though escalating the coefficient can be considered as a solution, I chose to use M3 because if the rank order was same all the time in Supremacy Matrix including second–order matrix, I would have chose to increase the coefficient of M2. However, not every cases had same order. In fact, they had insufficient reliability to use as the Supremacy Matrix. As the alternative solution, M3 is used and it proved the efficiency of using M3 in the Supremacy Matrix. Also, as it can be seen in the second– order Supremacy Matrix, second–order Matrix has lesser coefficient. To keep this trend, M3 had lesser coefficient than M2, resulting the Supremacy Matrix of S= ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Interestingly, 1991, the year when Nintendo launched the highly popular Super NES in the US, was also the year that saw Nintendo's vision become Sony's opportunity–and the creation of what could be described as Nintendo's "greatest challenge" for over a decade – the Sony PlayStation ("PS"). Nintendo had wanted to incorporate CD–ROM into their Super NES, and Sony had agreed to create the PS for this purpose. However, over the next two years, conflicts of vision between Nintendo and Sony continued, and the two finally parted ways. Nintendo went ahead with Philips technology, 4 and Sony was left with the PS, which the company decided to continue developing. Nevertheless, with population growing at 1.04 per cent in this decade (2001 to 2006), the slow– down is a matter of serious concern. The slowdown in production growth is primarily on account of a slowdown in the growth of yields. Yields have grown at less than 2 per cent per annum over the last ten years. In terms of absolute levels of rice yields in 2006–07, the districts of West Bengal can be categorized into four groups as shown below. There were three districts with yields above 3 tons per hectare (with Birbhum at the top) and three districts of North Bengal with very low rice yields (below 2 tons per hectare). The latter three districts, however, account for less than 10 per cent of area under rice cultivation. • 76. I Am A Huge Denver Broncos Fan I'll start off by saying I am a huge Denver Broncos fan! I was born in Colorado and when I was little I always saw the Broncos logo everywhere. My mom worked at a bank and the bank would always have Bronco celebrations. Something that made me a very big Broncos fan was when one of my mom's co–workers knew people who worked at the stadium and she got me an autographed photo of the mascot! I thought that was an awesome gift! Also while I was growing up I was part of a daycare in the summer that took all of us kids on field trips. I will never forget our leaders taking us to get a tour of everything in and out of the Broncos stadium. It was like a dream come true! When I was in the fourth grade my dad was selected to be a pastor in Beloit, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The jerseys were mustard brown and they had brown and yellow striped socks. The public as well as the players hated the socks and once the organization had changed their logo and colors the team had a public bonfire and burned the striped socks ("History of NFL Uniforms")! In 1960, Coach Frank Filchock was hired as head coach. The Broncos had their first game on September 9 in their first stadium, known as Bears Stadium ("Broncos Fan Forum"). The Broncos played the Boston Patriots and won. They would only win 3 more games until their season went to a downfall and had a 4–9–1 record; the worst record in the AFL ("1960–Present"). Coach Jack Faulkner was hired in 1962 and in 1963 they won only two games ("1960"). Then in 1964 they fired Jack because of a 0–4 start to the season. Mac Speedie was then hired and the Broncos still had no luck with their season ending terribly ("1960"). In 1965 Denver almost lost the franchise. A local ownership group took control and rebuilt the team ("Denver Broncos"). They began going door to door asking if people would like to donate and with Floyd Little's efforts on and off the field it helped enough to secure the organization ("Denver Broncos"). In 1966 Ray Malavasi was hired but it led to a 4–10 ending. He was then replaced by Lou Saban the following season ("1960–Present"). The stadium was also named Mile High Stadium and would last until the year 2000 ("1960"). On August 5, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 81. The Causes Of Early Basketball Dynasties In The United States 14. Early Basketball Dynasties Several teams in both college and the professional level formed early dynasties. Some say that this contributed to the unpopularity of the game during their reigns because the outcomes were too predictable. In the NBA, the Minnesota Lakers had a dynasty going; led by Mikan, they won championships in 5 of 6 seasons from 1949 to 1954. Even as the league changed its rules, and as Mikan's scoring dipped, the Lakers rolled. However, the game itself was becoming harder to watch. The Boston Celtics would continue where Minnesota left off. It started in 1957, when the Boston Celtics defeated the St. Louis Hawks in a tough best of seven game series. That was the first of an incredible 11 championships in 13 seasons. Some say that the Celtics Destiny is the most incredible in history but the UCLA Bruins college basketball team might have something to say about that. For 12 seasons, beginning with the 1963– 1964 season, Coach John Wooden and the Bruins won a record 10 NCAA titles; including seven in a row. The only years they did not win were 1965–66 season where they had a bad run of injuries and illnesses. Texas Western won that year and we'll discuss that importance later. The other year was the 1973–1974 season. Coach Wooden was ill a good portion of that year and would retire the next year. This was an amazing run and in my opinion solidified what is the greatest dynasty in the history of sports. I say this because in college basketball you have ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
