The Consequences Of Fracking And Cracking
When the skin on your feet dries out, it can lead to painful cracking and peeling, commonly referred to as heel fissures. The openings in the skin
allow easy access for bacteria that can cause infections, making the discomfort worse. If your feet are cracking and peeling, you may be looking for a
natural way to treat both the condition and the discomfort that comes with it. With a few simple remedies, you can be on your way to smoother skin and
a lot less pain.
Step 1
Moisturize your feet often. Apply a moisturizing cream or petroleum jelly to help add and lock in moisture, and cover your feet with soft cotton
socks. This should be done throughout the day as well as right before you go to bed. Vegetable oil can be used in place of lotion for

Of all the parts on your body that people constantly see throughout the day your hands can show your age more than any other body part. When you
are out in public using any facilities, at work using the restroom, or many other situations throughout the day you may be washing your hands
constantly. Every time you wash you hands your stripping away the natural oils, leaving them dry and rough at most time witch can age your hands.
The hardest par throughout the day is consistently protecting your hands all day. Another problem your hands face is loosing it's fat and volume as

cause it to look older at a faster rate over time if not protected. Majority of house holds now have a dish washer witch saves your hands from
washing dishes everyday. If you usually wash your dishes by hands you may want to consider using a rubber kitchen glove to protect them. This can

Prevention And Prevention Of Infectious Diseases
Product Overview
Washing your hands with soap and water is one of the most important things you can do to prevent the risk of spreading diseases. Germs that cause
colds, eye infections, and other illnesses can spread to the hands by sneezing, coughing, or rubbing the eyes and then can be transferred to other family
members or friends ("CDC," n.d.). To kill infection–causing germs, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention recommends people wash for 15 to
20 seconds with soap, and water. However, in today's fast paced environment, little things such as sufficient hygiene can be easily overlooked.
The issue that needs to be addressed, is how can we promote good hand washing habits efficiently, to prevent the spread of infectious diseases. For this
reason, Kohler will be introducing the "Hygieia". The Hygieia is a hands free motion detecting sink that dispenses water, and soap simultaneously. Each
year, foodborne diseases contribute to approximately 76 million illnesses ("What Germs," 2013). Improvement in handwashing practices amongst food
workers' is crucial to reducing the incidence of foodborne illnesses ("What Germs," 2013).
The Hygieia will be first to market of its kind with the dual action soap, and water dispenser feature. This current solution has not been made
available, which can lead to a new generation of faucets. With the same benefit as other sensor faucets, the new Hygieia will conserve up to 70% of
water per use ("Benefits," n.d.).

A Memorable Moment In My Life
I remember this tragedy like it was this morning. My aunt was out of town, so I was staying with my first cousin Andrew. I woke up fairly early for a
weekend and had a cup of the best dark roast from Starbucks in my pink and white polka dot coffee cup, along with 2 tablespoons of rich french vanilla
creamer. With my coffee, I went to go sit outside to listen to the bird's chirp, get a bit of fresh air and clear my head for the long day ahead of me. In my
cousin's backyard, they have a tall fogged glass patio set, sitting upon the rustic wood patio. Sitting in the backyard made me feel as though it was
just me and nature herself, so put together, beautiful and calm. It was black Friday and my cousin and I were going to head to my house for our
families traditional pierogi making after breakfast. My mother As well as other family members were already waiting there for our arrival. We got into
the car and rolled down the windows and started to play our favorite music. Once we got into the car we were sitting there for a moment just on
our phones and having a casual conversation. My cousin had mentioned his friend getting into a car accident the month before, and we were
positive that we were going to be okay because he was a safe driver, and wanted to get both of us there safely. Andrew soon started to drive on the
way to my house, and the gas light turned on. My cousin pulled to the nearest gas station. As we pulled in I got chills all the way from the bottom of
my feet

Brainwashing
You have finished using the restroom and are washing your hands at the sink. The person who was in the stall next to you flushes the toilet and walks
out...without washing their hands. Studies show that the habit of the person next to you is more common than we would like to recognize. "Just five
percent of people wash their hands long enough to destroy infectious germs after using the bathroom...ten percent skipped washing their hands
altogether, while thirty–three percent used no soap at all." (Michigan State University, Journal of Environmental Health) With the previously stated
statistics, if twenty people used the restroom at the same time, that would mean one person would wash their hands correctly, two would leave without,
and seven used no soap. The Center for Disease... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
After she had given me her cold. Why has the general public done away with hand washing? Is there some stigma attached to cleanliness?" (Lusk
Martha Larche, For good or ill, the great unwashed are making a comeback) Some argue that they refrain from washing their hands to build up their
immune systems or the thought process of, "They're my hands, I don't have to wash them if I don't want to." What those who skip the wash don't seem
to comprehend, is that it is not about them; they are putting others at risk. If you have not already become very aware of the disgusting microorganisms
your hands come in contact with on a daily basis, remember the amount of people who don't wash correctly and then touch the same things you do.
"Swabs were taken from ATMs, escalator handrails, equipment at the gym and taxicabs. Cultures too gruesome to mention grew from them, and

The Story Of Miranda And Miranda's Life
Well Miranda and her mom had a big fight. But first it was a pretty good day. Miranda went out to the pond and it was hot and sunny out. Then Dan
was walking her home when her mom was out on the driveway. She told Miranda she was going to the gas station to get some gas and she asked if
Dan would like a ride into town. Miranda asked if she could go too and her mom said yes, and they were also going to pick up Mrs.Nesbitt along
the way. There were only two gas stations in the town that still had gas. The gas was extrmemly high. It was $12 a gallon or $33 for 3 gallons. Which
is so stupid. But I bet they're getting their money. They're really taking advantage of the situation here. It usually took an hour to wait for gas. Then you

Miranda knew they couldn't just cut and join her, because that would cause way too much coasis, so they yelled and told them they were there. It
wasn't bad in the line. The state line troopers were watching mostly. Everyone was excited about getting food, even if they didn't know what they were
getting. To Miranda, it was like Christmas shopping. It started to rain, but they didn't mind. It was a gentle summertime kind of rain. Dan and Miranda
held hands and giggles and was being all lovey–dovey together. When Mrs.Nesbitt finally got into the school they cheered like a buntch of idiots. Then
they cheered again when she came out carrying a bag. When they finally got in theirselves, they saw other troopers in the school clearly guarding
the bags. Probably so no one would steal them and make a rappage. But everyone was very well behaved and when they got in the front of the line,
they had to show an ID that had their address on it. Luckily, Miranda and Dan had they're library cards with them. They were each handed a plastic
bag and were told to leave. When they were walking out, they saw troopers telling people not to get in line, because they were running out. When
they found Mrs.Nesbitt just outside the playground, she told them there was rice and beans and all kinds of goodies in her bag. Miranda was so
excited, she kissed Dan right in front of Mrs.Nesbitt, not that she seemed shocked anyways. Dan gave Miranda a hug and

ELL Students and Standardized Tests
We see and look at hundreds and hundreds of labels every single day, whether we realize what they are or not. Everything from food to medicine to
books all have labels. These labels help us determine what it is we are looking at. In the case of food packaging, labels tell us how many calories
are in a serving so that we are able to make healthy decisions. Medicine labels tell us how to safely take medication to relieve a headache. While
these labels work well and are harmless for helping us identify an inanimate object, they aren't as easily applied to people. When it comes to
labeling people, we can use labels to help identify gender, race, hair color, eye color, height, weight, and about a million other factors. Though these
labels too seem relatively harmless, some labels carry a stigma and certain humiliation when used to describe people. During World War Two, people
categorized as Jews were murdered by the hundreds of thousands by Hitler and his army, simply because of a religious label. While persecution because
of a certain classification isn't happening as obviously as it was during the 1940's, some labels today still carry stigma that nearly everyone in society
looks down upon. English Language Learner (ELL) is one of those labels.
Looking at the categorization of different peoples throughout history as well as the changes the labels they possess have gone through, as well as
identifying labels used in a derogatory way today we can see that labels have

The Simple Power Of Handwashing By Myriam Sidibe
The Ted Talk video that I chose was the "The Simple Power of Handwashing" by Myriam Sidibe illustrates how if we wash our hands more
frequently we would not get sick as often. Sidible compares the number of children that get sick from not washing their hands to a plane crash filled
with children. About 600,000 children contract diarrhea or pneumonia because they do not properly wash their hands. The situation I want to
investigate is the problem on why the children do not wash their hands because it is very important to do so in order to be healthy. A key factor in
not coming down with a cold or diarrhea is to simply wash one's hands often especially before eating or touching one's mouth or eyes.

before I touched my eyes or mouth. Children today need to be taught the proper way to wash their hands and they need to be taught early on so it
sticks with them. If individuals teach their children to wash their hands, then the mortality rates of children and infants will decrease. If new moms are
provided with a bar of soap when their baby is born, then they have the tools to teach their children and to make sure they are

Hand Hygiene: Infection Prevention
Hand hygiene is a big part in infection control. Considered the most important infection prevention. A lot of germs and infections are mainly cause by
direct contact. Everyone and healthcare facilities should wash their hands at all times. The most important purpose of hand washing is that it helps
remove dirt and reduce the amount of bacteria on your hands. To fully clean your hands, there are steps to follow on how to properly wash hands. First,
you start off by rolling up the sleeves, than using continuously running water add liquid soap, then place hands appropriately to avoid contaminating

Washing your hands is important because it helps when people cough on you and have germs all over there hands and even when you cough into
there own hands. There was this girl who worked at a daycare and one day a couple of kids were sick and she would pick them up and get germs
all over her hands and face. She never even bothered to go wash her hands at all and wondered why she was sick all the time. In school when going
for medical assisting they teach students a hand routine they can do while washing your hands: first they would wet their hands under running water
either warm or cold and then turn it off and apply soap, second they would lather their hands on both sides of the hands even in between fingers and
under their nails. Also they should at least wash their hands for 20 seconds, once done scrubbing their hands, they should rinse off under warm or
cold water and than dry their hands using a clean towel or air dry them. This is the right way to wash there hands. The best soap to use to wash there
hands is antiseptic soap. Always practice good hand hygiene because it helps prevent transmission of infections. They should always wash their hands a

Spread of HAIs: Medical Staff Non–Compliance
In the beginning of the chapter "On Washing Hands", Dr. Gawande stated that the spread of hospital–acquired infections could be stopped if the
medical staffs wash their hands frequently between each patient visits. The infections are carried through the doctors and staff members and then
transferred to the next patients by "having shaken hands with a sniffling patient...most of [the staff] do little more than wipe [their] hands on [their]
white coats and move on––to see the next patient" (Gawande 15). The various contagions that the staff encounter is known to cause deadly infections
and about ninety thousand patients die from these ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Gawande mentions in the beginning of the book about the incident where his patient's surgery time had to be delay since operating rooms were full
and "there are only enough nurses available to cover seventeen of forty–two operating rooms" (Gawande 6). In that case, if each nurse took an extra
minute after each patient they encounter to wash their hands, then there will about a twenty minute delay for each nurse since each nurse is
responsible for checking in on twenty patients in an hour during their rounds. Since washing hands took too long for the fast–paced hospital setting,
hospitals began to replace hand soap with easy to–go hand gel. The fifteen seconds hand rub–over gel saved time and increased the medical staff
participation in hand washing to 70 percent, but hospital infection rate was barely affected by the change since there were still a 30 percent of
non–hand–washers who are still transmitting the infections.
The nurses acknowledge the principle of washing hands but are having a hard time washing their hands because of they are having a difficult time
applying the hand wash routine in their work force. Gawande demonstrates the medical staff's inability to compliant the hand wash routine with his
personal viewpoints and experiences. Throughout the "On Washing Hands" chapter, Gawande explained the importance of washing hands, the effect of
not washing hands, and how to properly wash hands, demonstrating that he understands the concept of hand washing in

Now, the only opportunity to wash our hands is in the bathrooms and who wants to walk all the way to the bathroom between every class? But if we get

Pentane Lab Report
Aim:
The aim of this report is to come to a conclusion of which of the selected fuels is best for camping (no wood is available). The best fuel will be
determined by safety and heat of combustion. There will be three fuels selected to experiment with are Pentane, 1–Propanol and 2–Propanol.
Hypothesis:
When Pentane (C5H12) has a combustion reaction it will have the highest heat of combustion of the three fuels selected, it has the biggest difference
of the sum of energy to breaks bonds and to form bonds. This is because it has the longest carbon chain out of Pentane, 1–Propanol and 2–Propanol
which gives it the potential to form much bonds and have the most energy when it is combusted and will release the most energy. Despite being

The Importance of Hygenic Hands
Although hand sanitizer has it benefits, the spread of pathogens are controlled by using soap. One can have better benefits than the other one but
they both kill bacteria and germs. Around the world scientists have discovered and test places for proof. Many things can happen if it is not cured
right away. The population of not washing hands are not so good because people tend to not care or not think it is not that important. Well viruses,
death, sickness, and germs are things that should be though fast. Read on to figure out why it is so important to know how to wash hands and to
prevent them when it is not too late to turn back to the mistake. It claims things that would not even be brought up. Scientist observe changes as
well as doctor do the same. The hand can easily be injured during everyday activities. Exercising it or moving them around can easily keep them on
good conditions. Germs do love to be where it is warm, moist, and darkness. Just use p.p.e to prevent the bad things away. It all about safety and
responsibility. Know the benefits of how your body works. It is an important risk in life. Washing dirty hands is a good step from spreading out
disease and germs. Using liquid soap and hand sanitizer are good ways to stop preventing them from happening. Even though germs are not seen
they can be passed on by a blink of an eye. Thats why preventing it while its at risk is healthy. Using soap is a better use to wash ugly dirty hands.

The Importance Of Hand Hygiene
Hand hygiene is simply the act of cleansing one's hands. When done properly, it removes or destroys microorganisms on hands which cause diseases. It
is very effective in preventing health care infections. Different ways of achieving hand hygiene include washing with soap and water or applying a
waterless antimicrobial hand rub to the hands commonly known as sanitizing.
Health care associated infections (HAI's) are a infections that patients acquire when they are receiving treatment for other conditions at a healthcare
facility. Health care associated infections are a significant issue in the United States and throughout the world but following proper hand hygiene
practices is the most effective and least expensive way to prevent HAIs ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Barriers to hand hygiene compliance include factors such as forgetfulness, skin irritation, poor education and lack of resources. Another potential
barrier is the presence of the phenomenon known as the "Hawthorne Effect" in which workers temporarily actin a different way than they would
normally because they know they are being watched (Winship, S., & McClunie – Trust, P., 2016, p.2). When healthcare professionals are aware that
they are being observed, they are more likely to comply with hand hygiene guidelines. This is particularly true when healthcare workers are attending to
patients in the hallway.
The National Patient Safety Goals (NPSG) program was established by the joints commission to help healthcare organizations address specific areas of
concern in regard to patient safety. It is important that members of the healthcare team understand the National Patient Safety Goals and understand
their roles in promoting patient safety. Goal 7 of the National Patient Safety Goals talks about reducing the risk of healthcare associated infections.

The Concerning Issue of Air Pollution
One of the most concerning issues that has affected the entire world is air pollution, but we do not seemed to see it as a serious problem to take care
off until now. Scientist from the World Health Organization released information on their research that was taken place in 2012. About 7 million lives
around the world was claimed by air pollution and more than one third were from fast developing countries from India to Japan, but China was the
most concentrated area of air pollution. China has a goal to urbanize very quickly that the cities do not think about planning on proper waste dumping
and helping the environment. The mast movement of urbanization will affect the farmers greatly because they rely on the environment to be clean
and using the sun to help grown their crops. The World Bank study offered advice to China that building dense cities will be more efficient so the
people in China could avoid larger risk of pollution from long commutes traveling and high energy consumption. China did listen to the advice but
they still want to reach their goal. China wants about 60 percent of the population to be living in cities by 2020, as of right now they are at 54 percent
of their goal. The World Bank andWorld Health Organizationsaid the greatest threats to human health are burning noxious fuels from coal, wood, and
animal waste. (Jacobs and Johnson, 2014) China's largest reason for air pollution is the use of coal, because two–thirds of the country uses it for energy.

government and the rebels are the forerunners in violence in the war, sure, but they aren't the only ones. There are the terrorist groups, with skewed
views to support the destruction of people and things around them, and in itself the stark difference of the religions and ethnicities of Syria. Who causes

In document E multiple solid points are brought up on the influence of ISIS on the rebellion : " ISIS has changed the course of the Syrian war. It
has forced the mainstream Syrian opposition to fight on two fronts... ISIS is a group with an international profile and and extremeist view of Islamic
rule. And it has shown its readiness to take on any Syrians it doesn't like opposition or regime supporters. " This gives us a wild card among the
violence, one that causes violence for both sides, which is just like stirring the pot. It weakens the rebellion, causing to fight two things, and will

Project Rates Cst Brands ( Cst ) A Buy
This valuation project rates CST Brands (CST) a BUY. This is driven by several positive factors observed from the company and the industry, which
lead us to believe that CST should give investors a better opportunity than an average market portfolio.
Despite the company's weak growth in EPS during the most recent fiscal years due to poor revenue figures. Analysts on wall streets are confident in
setting a high target price for CST.
Revenue fell significantly compared to industry's average of 10.7%.
Examining the company's financials and annual report, I did not identify any strong reasons that could cause the continuation of decline. Combined
with the positive current market outlook, I believe CST ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
So I assumed minimal CapEx for the forecasted five years' period.
The most recent financials used for valuation show a rather weak performance in terms of sales, reflecting the lowered gasoline price. However, I
believe revenues are on to recovery and will start to grow from 2016. We see strong signals for improvement in the global economy. According to
Capital IQ's equity research, there's an expansion of foodservice offering, with a greater focus on lunch and dinner selections, supporting
comparable–store sales growth. (Capital IQ, 2016)
With these as the backdrop, I am assuming a positive outlook on CST's earning potentials in the future years. The estimated financials over the
coming five years are stable in general. Costs of sales are assumed to decrease as the company gradually realize the cost saving benefit from previous
acquisitions. It is important to point out that, the increase in COGS recorded in FY2015 was partly attributable to the acquisition of CrossAmerica. If
we would exclude the effect of this acquisition, COGS declined 26% during the year. Combined with the cost reduction benefits mentioned above, it is
reasonable to forecast a slight decline in COGS in the future five years.

operations are separated into two main broad categories: retail convenience store and wholesale motor fuel supply.

Essay On How To Fit A Steer
I am going to list the steps on how to fit a steer before it is show. It is important to fit a steer because it can make the steer look completely different
and cover up any of the flaws that it may have. This is a detailed process and requires many show supplies including water, a hose, a comb, a blower, a
chute, oil spray, medium adhesive, black magic, final bloom, a clipper, and a sharp pair of scissors.
The first step in fitting your steer is to wash the whole steer to get all dirt and dust out. By washing the steer with cold water multiple times a day, it
will help the steer hair grow more hair. The next step is to comb the steer out when it is wet. The purpose of these steps is to comb and train the hair to
grow the right direction. You can repeat the wash and comb... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Starting with the bottom of the legs you will lightly spray the medium adhesive on the legs while combing the hair upwards. With this step you
need to make sure you don't spray on too much adhesive on or the hair will stick together and you won't be able to comb it. Another tip to making
this step easier is to do little sections at a time. This way after putting the adhesive in the next step is to spray over it with Black Magic. With this step
you want to spray the black magic evenly through the steer, so it all blends in. You will complete this process on the whole steer.
After the steer is completely fit the next step is to trim the steer. The is not a complete trim of all the hair it just using the clippers or scissors to
trim any hair that is out of place. For example a lot of trimming is done on the legs and tail after fitting because these areas can be shaped differently
every time you fit. The final steps are to spray final bloom over all the calf to make it shine and spray the black magic over the hooves to make them

Brief Summary And Theoretical Molar Heat Of Combustion
Graph 1 Description:
This graph is identical to experiment 1 graph 1 as it compares the experimental and theoretical molar heats of combustion. Being the same concept this
graph shows how the experimental molar heat of combustion is a scale less than the theoretical molar heat of combustion. The significance behind the
scale of this graph where the experimental is lower that the theoretical, is how there is a pattern for which every fuel follows the same trend. Also it
shows the average heats of combustion and which alkane has the leading heat output rate.
Graph 2 Description:
This graph is identical to experiment 1 graph 2 as it shows a pattern between the scales of carbon atoms. The higher amount of carbon in a longer chain
results in a higher molar heat of combustion. This supports the theory behind bond energy as more bonds break, more bonds form which add up to
making a higher molar heat of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
As the change in mass and temperature is small for both candle wax (and paraffin in this experiment), it is clear that there is little changes when these
fuels are combusting in their physical states. This means that these fuels last longer but are an unreliable source of energy as a fuel. The change in
temperature being small suggests that these alkanes produce poor heat output, however that fully contradicts their high experimental and theoretical
heats of combustion and percentage yields. The fact that the change in temperature was so low can be experimental side effects. One being that candle
wax particularly produces the extra energy source of light possibly more so than paraffin and even the experiment 1 alcohols. Another experimental
error as to why the change in temperature isn't very large could be due to the surrounds not being a fully insulator set up (calorimetry – experiment 1

The Use of Isolation Precautions and Hand Hygiene
This paper will discuss the importance of the use of isolation precautions, and hand hygiene. It will discuss how a nurse named Sophie helps mentor
a new CNA staff member to the team by constructively teaching him about proper use of Personal Protection Equipment and good Hand Hygiene. It
will also give an example a constructive way for Sophie to address the problem at hand. Sophie is what you would call a Link Nurse. The purpose of
a link nurse is to reduce the infection rates of the facility of employment. The nurse will mentor staff and teach by example along with watching
different tasks and giving good constructive feedback. The paper will narrate some of the teaching Sophie gives Miguel.
As Miguel, a new CNA, came out of the room his nurse Sophie noticed that he was not wearing the isolation gown, gloves, or mask. She asked him
for a private moment away from others ears and eyes and inquired about it, "Miguel I noticed you didn't have on the isolation equipment when you
came out of the room. Do you know they are on precautions?" Miguel's response "I saw the stuff sitting there but didn't really know what it was for.
Did I just contaminate myself?" Sophie took this as a learning opportunity to teach Miguel about the precautions and why someone might be on them.
"By washing our hands and having good hand hygiene we are showing the patients, their family and everyone around that you care enough about the

The Pros And Cons Of Isaac Newton's Laws Of Motion
Space travel had been a dream for mankind ever since stars could be seen in the sky. Creating successful rockets wasn't easy; scientists in the
seventeenth century like Galileo and Newton spent years trying to understand the laws of motions (How Rockets). Isaac Newton's three laws of
motions had advanced the creation of a working rocket. His laws of motion are the building blocks of a functional rocket.
Newton's first law states, an object at rest tends to stay at rest and an object in motion tends to stay in motion unless acted upon by an unbalanced
force ("The Rocket"). A rocket on a launch pad is an object at rest. For a rocket to lift off, the force needs to push the rocket off the pad. Newton's
second law of motion can be written with the equation F = ma. The engine of the rocket is generating force as long as it is ignited, thrusting particles
out of the rocket. The amount of force the engine generates is equal to the mass of the rocket and the acceleration of the rocket. Since particles are
pushed out of the rocket, the mass is constantly decreasing, which means the acceleration will increase (How Rockets). Rockets travel into space
according to this. The principle behind Newton's ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
To make space travel a possibility, a lot of changes have to be made. Reducing the price of space travel is one of the most challenging problems
scientists face. Another problem is how many mass propellants take up. Around 80% of a rocket's mass is propellants; this limits the amount of
space that can be used for luxury items that attract customers to spend a lot of money into space travel. Also, the limited space restricts the number of
people that can be travel into space in one rocket. Fewer amounts of people that could travel into space mean the more expensive space travel would
be. The more space travel costs, the fewer amounts of people would afford

Personal Hygiene And Susceptibility Microbiology
This assignment will encompass how the results of the personal hygiene and susceptibility microbiology experiments provide a framework for the
basis of the NICE Clinical Guidance (CG139) on Infection and how crucial the reasons for the hand wash protocol and hygiene is in all healthcare
settings.
Firstly, the background to section 1.1.2 of NICE CG139 helps healthcare professionals such as pharmacists and doctors to be aware of the guidelines
placed down. It helps develop their clinical judgement in a healthcare setting to take extra care and follow hygiene protocols and the safety of patients,
but also other members of staff in the same setting. However, the guidelines do not overrule the respective responsibility of the healthcare professional
to alter their decision making stance when in one–to–one contact with a patient. The guidelines act as a supporting structure for the health and safety of
everyone concerned. (NICE, 2012)
Furthermore, the background of section 1.1.2 of NICE CG139 is aimed to educate and advise the general public about how to avoid infections from
people who are undergoing treatment, home care or in the overall community. The guidelines specifically applies to adults/children getting healthcare
in community, or primary care. It additionally applies to family members, healthcare workers and carers who deliver healthcare in community/primary
care. CG139 is not specific to people who are getting healthcare in a hospital setting, but understanding how to

Germ Theory Of Disease
Hand washing is the most important method of avoiding sickness and germs spreading. According to WHO, it is always important to wash hands to
not only remove visible dirty but also to kill disease causing pathogens. We should wash our hands when:
They are visibly dirty
Before touching raw meant such as beef or chicken
After changing adults or infant nappies
After touching pets or animals
After going to toilets
Before eating
Before preparing food items
After contacting with any body fluids like vomit, urine and blood
After blowing our noses or sneezing
Doctors mostly use alcohol based hand rubs instead of periodically washing their hands since they handle patients, very old people and very young
children (M Worboys, 2008).
This experiment goes hand in hand with the Germ theory of disease which states that many diseases are caused due to the presence and actions of
specific pathogens within the body. Washing hands with soap and water is among the best and the cheapest way to reduce the number of disease
causing micro–organisms in many situations. If soap and water are not available, experts recommend that alcohol–based hand sanitizes containing at
least 60% alcohol should be used (J Waller, 2004).

  • 3. Prevention And Prevention Of Infectious Diseases Product Overview Washing your hands with soap and water is one of the most important things you can do to prevent the risk of spreading diseases. Germs that cause colds, eye infections, and other illnesses can spread to the hands by sneezing, coughing, or rubbing the eyes and then can be transferred to other family members or friends ("CDC," n.d.). To kill infection–causing germs, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention recommends people wash for 15 to 20 seconds with soap, and water. However, in today's fast paced environment, little things such as sufficient hygiene can be easily overlooked. The issue that needs to be addressed, is how can we promote good hand washing habits efficiently, to prevent the spread of infectious diseases. For this reason, Kohler will be introducing the "Hygieia". The Hygieia is a hands free motion detecting sink that dispenses water, and soap simultaneously. Each year, foodborne diseases contribute to approximately 76 million illnesses ("What Germs," 2013). Improvement in handwashing practices amongst food workers' is crucial to reducing the incidence of foodborne illnesses ("What Germs," 2013). The Hygieia will be first to market of its kind with the dual action soap, and water dispenser feature. This current solution has not been made available, which can lead to a new generation of faucets. With the same benefit as other sensor faucets, the new Hygieia will conserve up to 70% of water per use ("Benefits," n.d.). Product Information ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 4. A Memorable Moment In My Life I remember this tragedy like it was this morning. My aunt was out of town, so I was staying with my first cousin Andrew. I woke up fairly early for a weekend and had a cup of the best dark roast from Starbucks in my pink and white polka dot coffee cup, along with 2 tablespoons of rich french vanilla creamer. With my coffee, I went to go sit outside to listen to the bird's chirp, get a bit of fresh air and clear my head for the long day ahead of me. In my cousin's backyard, they have a tall fogged glass patio set, sitting upon the rustic wood patio. Sitting in the backyard made me feel as though it was just me and nature herself, so put together, beautiful and calm. It was black Friday and my cousin and I were going to head to my house for our families traditional pierogi making after breakfast. My mother As well as other family members were already waiting there for our arrival. We got into the car and rolled down the windows and started to play our favorite music. Once we got into the car we were sitting there for a moment just on our phones and having a casual conversation. My cousin had mentioned his friend getting into a car accident the month before, and we were positive that we were going to be okay because he was a safe driver, and wanted to get both of us there safely. Andrew soon started to drive on the way to my house, and the gas light turned on. My cousin pulled to the nearest gas station. As we pulled in I got chills all the way from the bottom of my feet ... The person who was in the stall next to you flushes the toilet and walks out...without washing their hands. "Just five percent of people wash their hands long enough to destroy infectious germs after using the bathroom...ten percent skipped washing their hands altogether, while thirty–three percent used no soap at all." Is there some stigma attached to cleanliness?" (Lusk Martha Larche, For good or ill, the great unwashed are making a comeback) Some argue that they refrain from washing their hands to build up their immune systems or the thought process of, "They're my hands, I don't have to wash them if I don't want to." What those who skip the wash don't seem to comprehend, is that it is not about them; they are putting others at risk. Then Dan was walking her home when her mom was out on the driveway. She told Miranda she was going to the gas station to get some gas and she asked if Dan would like a ride into town. Miranda asked if she could go too and her mom said yes, and they were also going to pick up Mrs.Nesbitt along the way. There were only two gas stations in the town that still had gas. The gas was extrmemly high. It was $12 a gallon or $33 for 3 gallons. Which is so stupid. But I bet they're getting their money. They're really taking advantage of the situation here. They were each handed a plastic bag and were told to leave. When they were walking out, they saw troopers telling people not to get in line, because they were running out. • 7. ELL Students and Standardized Tests We see and look at hundreds and hundreds of labels every single day, whether we realize what they are or not. Everything from food to medicine to books all have labels. These labels help us determine what it is we are looking at. In the case of food packaging, labels tell us how many calories are in a serving so that we are able to make healthy decisions. Medicine labels tell us how to safely take medication to relieve a headache. While these labels work well and are harmless for helping us identify an inanimate object, they aren't as easily applied to people. When it comes to labeling people, we can use labels to help identify gender, race, hair color, eye color, height, weight, and about a million other factors. Though these labels too seem relatively harmless, some labels carry a stigma and certain humiliation when used to describe people. During World War Two, people categorized as Jews were murdered by the hundreds of thousands by Hitler and his army, simply because of a religious label. While persecution because of a certain classification isn't happening as obviously as it was during the 1940's, some labels today still carry stigma that nearly everyone in society looks down upon. English Language Learner (ELL) is one of those labels. Looking at the categorization of different peoples throughout history as well as the changes the labels they possess have gone through, as well as identifying labels used in a derogatory way today we can see that labels have ... • 12. Washing Hands Kristie Tran Becca Gray Writing 39C 29 June 2014 Spread of HAIs: Medical Staff Non–Compliance In the beginning of the chapter "On Washing Hands", Dr. Gawande stated that the spread of hospital–acquired infections could be stopped if the medical staffs wash their hands frequently between each patient visits. The infections are carried through the doctors and staff members and then transferred to the next patients by "having shaken hands with a sniffling patient...most of [the staff] do little more than wipe [their] hands on [their] white coats and move on––to see the next patient" (Gawande 15). The various contagions that the staff encounter is known to cause deadly infections and about ninety thousand patients die from these ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Gawande mentions in the beginning of the book about the incident where his patient's surgery time had to be delay since operating rooms were full and "there are only enough nurses available to cover seventeen of forty–two operating rooms" (Gawande 6). In that case, if each nurse took an extra minute after each patient they encounter to wash their hands, then there will about a twenty minute delay for each nurse since each nurse is responsible for checking in on twenty patients in an hour during their rounds. Since washing hands took too long for the fast–paced hospital setting, hospitals began to replace hand soap with easy to–go hand gel. The fifteen seconds hand rub–over gel saved time and increased the medical staff participation in hand washing to 70 percent, but hospital infection rate was barely affected by the change since there were still a 30 percent of non–hand–washers who are still transmitting the infections. The nurses acknowledge the principle of washing hands but are having a hard time washing their hands because of they are having a difficult time applying the hand wash routine in their work force. Gawande demonstrates the medical staff's inability to compliant the hand wash routine with his personal viewpoints and experiences. Throughout the "On Washing Hands" chapter, Gawande explained the importance of washing hands, the effect of not washing hands, and how to properly wash hands, demonstrating that he understands the concept of hand washing in ... Being the same concept this graph shows how the experimental molar heat of combustion is a scale less than the theoretical molar heat of combustion. The significance behind the scale of this graph where the experimental is lower that the theoretical, is how there is a pattern for which every fuel follows the same trend. Also it shows the average heats of combustion and which alkane has the leading heat output rate. Graph 2 Description: This graph is identical to experiment 1 graph 2 as it shows a pattern between the scales of carbon atoms. Creating successful rockets wasn't easy; scientists in the seventeenth century like Galileo and Newton spent years trying to understand the laws of motions (How Rockets). Isaac Newton's three laws of motions had advanced the creation of a working rocket. His laws of motion are the building blocks of a functional rocket. Newton's first law states, an object at rest tends to stay at rest and an object in motion tends to stay in motion unless acted upon by an unbalanced force ("The Rocket"). A rocket on a launch pad is an object at rest. For a rocket to lift off, the force needs to push the rocket off the pad. Newton's second law of motion can be written with the equation F = ma. The engine of the rocket is generating force as long as it is ignited, thrusting particles out of the rocket. The amount of force the engine generates is equal to the mass of the rocket and the acceleration of the rocket. Since particles are pushed out of the rocket, the mass is constantly decreasing, which means the acceleration will increase (How Rockets). Rockets travel into space according to this.
