The drums, marimba, and the snare drum seemed to always add a great or dramatic effect the the
scenes. During the suspenseful parts of the performance, the percussion instruments added thrilling
feelings towards its audience by changing pitches and frequencies at rapid or slow rates. I have

not know a whole lot about them. During the parent's first attempt to abandon their children, we
learn that Hansel is a very clever boy. While his parents are leading them to their would be demise
Hansel is busy dropping pebbles on the forest floor in hopes that it would lead them back to their

innocence, and determination through two children's eyes, and how in time, they become who they

When I was a young boy, I lived with my father, a woodcutter and his wife. My name was Hansel
and I had a sister named Gretel. We were a poor family that lived in a great forest. Great misfortune
hit and we couldn't get bread from the land.
That's when it happened. It was night and we were all in bed. I couldn't sleep because of my intense
hunger. I was laying next to Gretel when I heard father. He was complaining with mother about how
to deal with the lack of food. That's when I heard mother say "We will take the children out into the
woods and light a fire for them. We will go to work and leave them."
Most of the rest of the conversation was muffled but we heard all we needed to know. Gretel was
crying and I was trying to soothe her. That night was the beginning to our tale. I snuck into the night
looking for anything that could lead us back once in the woods. I found the brightest pebbles I could
find and put them in my coat pocket. Once back in bed, I said to Gretel that god will protect us.
We were woken the following morning by mother yelling "Get up, you sluggards." Just as they
discussed the night before, we were brought into the woods. They didn't see me dropping the
pebbles on the way. There was one time that scared me when they asked me what I was doing so I
made bluff on the spot. When we were as far away as they wanted they built a fire and left.
We went to bed and waited tell midnight and saw that my plan worked. I led us back to the house
using the pebbles and knocked on the door. Father was so pleased to see us and was sad. On the
contrary, mother was angry and she scolded us for being late.
Not to long after, the land went bad again and we were running out of food
