My Current Role. Dec 2008 – Present day
I am the Sales Manager For AFD Plant, it was a new start business when I joined
My brief was to start, run and grow the business year on year by selling a range of
used equipment.
The plant type consists of forklift trucks, access platforms,warehouse equipment and
sweeping machines.
This has been achieved and today the sales figures are £285,000 per year based on
sales of 70 units with profits of £180,000.
This is a split of 90% new business and 10% retained.
The role includes preparing quotations ,completing all relevant health and safety
documentation, arranging delivery schedules, liasing with customers and arranging
after sales service arrangements.
The customer base in this business is wide and varied consisting of mainly small and
start up companies making their first aqusition of equipment
Previous Work Experience
May 2003 – Dec 2008 Sales Director, Wednesbury Forklifts Ltd
As a non exectutive director , I controlled the sales and marketing of the forklift
Truck sector, the company was highly geared to sell machines on lease or contract
Hire through finance houses.
All targets were achieved £500,000 revenue based on 50 reconditioned and new units
This was a split of 50 - 50 new business and retained customers.
2. Jan 1999 – May 2003 Area Sales Manager, Lift Truck Services Ltd
This role with a well run small company required me to manage a sales area in the
west midlands and control a small field sales team of two that covered the east
Midlands.and South west.
Sales Targets were aimed at sales and hire growth with turnover of rising from
£450,000 to £1000,000 during the period and bulding a hire fleet of over 70 machines
And 100 unit sales. Sales split began at 70% new business and later balanced to 50%

This was very demanding role and involved a great deal of nationwide travel it was
thoroughly rewarding in all areas, I worked on larger contracts in distribution, logistics
& warehousing
Targets were achieved of 100 new units per year £1.5 million turnover

Jungheinrich GB Jul 1984 –Jan 1997 Sales engineer.. to senior sales
executive
This was my first sales role in materials handling equipment, it was a role in which I
enthused and thrived. Start target was 30 new units and 10 used in year 1.
Without fail I beat the targets year on year and it rose to 60 new and 40 used
With over £1million in revenue and national salesman of the year awards.
Mar 1982 - Jun 1984 sales representative Newey & Eyre Ltd
This was my first sales role as representative for Newey & Eyre Ltd.
I did well there by increasing sales revenue month on month from a start of £10,000
per month and after two years this had reached £23,000 per month

Company
Here in my first job I enjoyed Excellent training and a full trade apprenticeship with day
release to college to gain good qualifications. I also learned to complete electrical
repairs on the company fleet of forklifts
