CRM (Salesforce) wasavital andvaluable tool to helpme tokeep,Managementandcolleaguesuptodate with
inquiries,accountinformation,leadsandopportunities. Iwasrequiredtoproduce andpresentpresentationsto
customersandcolleagues. All monthlyreportswerepresentedinthiswayalso.
Gates are a verytargetdrivencompany. My bonuswaspaid everyJanuarybasedonthe followingtargetssetand
agreedbetweenmyself andthe RSMfor the UK.

Pirtek Peterborough
Technical Sales Manager 2008- 2009
With Pirtek Peterborough I was employed to increase sales through the branch and to ensure Mobile Service Sales
Technicians (MSST) where kept busy on breakdowns. This was broken down to approximately 70% account
management and 30% new business. I have been responsible for many good new accounts at a local level and even
some atnational levelandprovidedexcellentmaintenance of theirexistingaccountsinextremelydifficulttimeswhere
most companies are looking to reduce costs wherever possible. This required me to forge relationships with
prospective customers, some with no idea about Pirtek products and services and some who came with
misconceptions.Inorderfor me to do thisparticularaspectof the jobwell Ifeltit was importantthat I complete the
PirtekMSST trainingandthat I spendtime on the vansactuallyassistingwithbreakdowns.Thisgave me a far greater
understandingof the vastnumberof products,Pirtekpart numberingsystemandsome of the hurdlesthe engineers
have to overcome and in turn making me better placed to sell those services. I often took breakdown calls in the
depotandeverythirdSaturdaywasresponsibleforthe runningof the branch.InSeptember’sadditionof the Pipeline
(Pirtekquarterlymagazine) one of mynewcustomersfor PirtekinPeterboroughwill be featuredandpossiblyinthe
nextaddition,another. These are goodsolidaccounts that PirtekPeterboroughshouldenjoyalong and prosperous
relationshipwithformanyyearstocome andmany otherstoo.

Extrusion Operator
WithGPS I wasan extrusionoperator,where myresponsibilitiesare the manufacture of plasticpipe productsforthe
conveyance of Water, Gas, Petrol and Diesel. With this job requires high degree of training, attention to detail and
understandingof micrometresandcalibrationmachinery.Ihadonlybeenthere forthreeyearsbuthadbecomehighly
skilledinall aspectsof the jobandcan setup and runany line from1000mm bore pipe to20mm bore fromspeedsof
4mtrs an hour 1250mtrs an hour respectively. I am also required to provide training to inexperienced and new
members of the team. I have a slingers license (overhead cranes up to 5ton) and a forklift license from west Anglia
training.
Unfortunatelythere are notverymanyavenuesforadvancementwithinthe companyandIfeltitistime forme to
returnto a salesrole whichgivesme more fulfilments.

As District Sales Manager for Gates Hydraulics I was responsible sales into 22 distribution outlets and 5 large OEM

a year to the company. I reported directly to UK Sales Manager but was expected to manage my own time and call
plans,makingcalls on OEM’s, Distributor’sandIndustrial Consumers.Dutiesincludedensuringdistrictsalesbudgets
and key objective were achieved, developing and maintaining sound customer and prospective customer relations
while possessing overall awareness of activitiesin my district that could potentially affect my ability to sell in the
