10. Simple, Four Line Rhyme Rhyming a,b, c, b: Mary had a little lamb Its fleece was white as snow And everywhere that Mary went The lamb was sure to go.

16. Haiku Japanese poem of 17 syllables arranged in three lines of 5, 7 and 5 syllables. Syllable: a unit of spoken language that consists of one or more vowel sounds alone. “Sun” is one syllable and “sunshine” is two syllables.

21. Sonnet A poem of 14 lines, usually in iambic pentameter (stress is on the 2nd, 4th, 6th, 8th and 10th syllables of each line), restricted to a definite rhyme scheme. Shakespeare wrote sonnets.
