2. Research
• As research for my game I looked at three different ios games. I looked at
temple run, the floor is lava and subway surfers. All of these games have
been at the top of the app store at some point. These games were a good
selection to pick as they had the same basic concept as my game. My
research was good but quite short as I struggled to find a lot of
information about the apps. I also did some primary research in the form
of interviews I found these useful to refer to in planning and production.
3. Planning
In my pre production I created a style sheet and looked at basic ideas for
production. I also created two sheets of layouts for my game along with
sound effects, health and safety and contingency planning. The style sheet
was useful to refer back to, I frequently looked at colour throughout my
production. I felt I planned well however would of liked to have planned more
in depth in to my game and the actual plot. The sound effects I chose covered
all the areas of my game except the music. I would like to of planned actual
music instead of playing it by ear. This would of improved my game as it
would of made it a more interactive experience.
4. Time Management
• My time management throughout the project was good however certain
areas took longer than I originally planned, I found actual production to be
very tedious designing all the layers using pixels took a very long time. My
skills developed as the project went on during this so I found production
got slowly faster as it went along. Apart from the the majority of the
project was on time some parts slightly rushed but still I was able to
complete it all.

5. Technical Qualities
I think in comparison to other games my work was good as it worked smoothly
and had a good concept behind It. The controls and design all worked well and ran
smoothly as a game. I think my work would have been improved by making my
three lanes system clearer as this would of made my product easier to play and
would of looked more professional. A clear split between the lanes would of made
it easier for the player to see where they were going.
6. Aesthetic Qualities
I think my work did look good however I struggled to design certain things not
because of my control of the software but because im not such a great designer. I
felt that my work was creative and the basic idea and look of the game was well
done and could easily be expanded. To improve I would of added in different
obstacles and features and maybe made some of them interactive this would of
made a more interesting experience for the player.
7. Audience Appeal
I think that my game appeals to my audience the way I want it to. As a game
targeted to the app store I think by making my game a niche endless runner I
think the game fills a gap in the market the fact there's no other school based
game would attract interest to the game.
