2. OUR SONG
• The song we have chosen to use for our music video is Ed Sheeran ft. Rudimental –
“Bloodstream”.
Why?
• We have chosen this song because we feel that the message of the song can be easily
portrayed to be understood by a younger audience.
• We feel that we can portray a stereotypical representation of a teenager however we will
then put the audience in the perspective of the teenager giving them a different outlook on
the problems teenagers face in society.
• The lyrics also allow us to incorporate both narrative and performance aspects.
• We have chosen this particular genre because we feel that it is one that is popular with our
specific target audience and the older generation.
3. WHO IS YOUR ARTIST/BRAND IDENTITY?
• Our artist is called Noah Lucas. He is 23 years old, wears simple
clothing and is a modest man who is relatable to his audience. He
could be associated with artists like James Bay or Rag’N’Bone man
who are also down to earth.
• He creates pop music and is the type of artist that is more
interested in making meaningful music to get a message across
rather than making money.
• He strives to be a role model for his audience.
• He writes music from his own personal experiences making him
appear genuine.
4. OUR MAIN IDEAS
• Our main idea will be based around the stereotypes of teenagers involving
drugs, alcohol and anti-social behavior.
• To highlight these stereotypes the narrative will begin with the main
character drinking conforming to the stereotypes.
• Through the use of mise-en-scene the audience will get signifiers that there
was some kind of tragedy.
• The audience sees the tragedy and then realise that their assumptions were
too general.
• This then starts the spiral of his alcohol abuse.
5. WHAT WILL BE YOUR VISUAL STYLE?
• One music video we were influenced by was Ed Sheeran A Team, this is
because of the way in which the video portrays an underrepresented social
group and allows society to understand them better.
• Mise-en-scene:
• Photographs, drugs, alcohol and a graveyard.
• Camera:
• Low angle shots, close ups, establishing shots and high angle shots.
• Editing:
• Slow paced editing, grainy/dull filter.
8. ANCILLARY TASKS
• For our ancillary task we have chosen to make a digipack. This will include a
poster, album cover and disk cover that relate to the music video we have
created.
• Collectively as a group we liked the star image and style that Beyoncé
created for her album ‘I am Sasha Fierce’. We liked the simplicity of the
artwork and the album sticks to conventional elements of an album digipak
e.g. main image, track list and a bar code.
9. WHAT IS YOUR UNIQUE SELLING POINT?
• Our artists music will attempt to oppose societies stereotypes and
representations of particular individuals/groups.
• This will ensure that the artist can better appeal to the target audience.
• Lives a regular lifestyle and wears simple clothing.
• Although they wear simple clothing they have a style that is easily
identifiable by their audience.
