Our band enjoys a very
basic lifestyle and a very
hectic one as well with
festivals, high street
fashion and pubs being
important for the band
and what makes them a
classic young indie rock
band in 2014. They
believe in self-made
people and hugely
disagree in sellouts and
manufactured artists like
Justin Bieber, etc.
3. MOOD BOARD
Our mood board represents our band as what we
want. The board shows the bands background as they
grew up in East London and developed through pub
gigs and went through Rough Trade Records.
The mood board also shows the bands love to have
fun, with festivals being a common photo on our
mood board. This is because festivals are a huge
part of music now and especially for our bands
demographic as young adults and teens make up a
huge percentage of festivalgoers.
5. SYNOPSIS OF THE VIDEO
The music video for our song; “Brianstorm” is about a
young man called Brian who is slippery, he cons
people and is a ladies man. This then leads him to
going back to a girls house af ter a night out, when he
wakes up, Brian runs out of the house. As he does
so, the girls 3 brothers open the door as Brian
leaves. When this happens Brian barges through and
gets in his car as the brothers pursue him on a mad
chase until they reach a woodland area where they
chase Brian until they catch him and give him a
beating he will never forget. In between the narrative
we will have the band preforming so it shows an
influence by the record label.
6. HOW WE USED GOODWIN
In our video, we have the band preforming l ive. This is a use of
Go o dwi n ’ s re c o rd l ab e l i n fl ue n c e t h e o r y.
Also our video heavi ly rel ies on the pace of the song and the
video wi l l commonly stick to the same pace through the cutting
between shots.
We use the image to lyric concept as wel l . We do this because
the lyrics in the song are very si l ly and qui rky and by doing this,
we can give this simi lar style across in the video.
The band preforming l ive is a huge genre convention for indie
rock as i t shows the band as a uni t and a team which is what the
re c o rd l ab e l ’ s wi l l wan t as i t s e l l s .
We have a smal l use of the notion of looking theory proposed by
Goodwin as we do have a gi rl being seductive in the video but i t
is for only one or two l ines.
We don’t reference anything in the video as i t is a strange video
which doesn’t al low references as easi ly.
7. WHY WE DECIDED ON THIS CONCEPT
We decided on thi s concept as i t i s common for thi s speci f ic genre of music as
many bands such as Bi f fy Cl yro and Arct ic Monkey s have ver y st range and qui rky
v ideos that don’ t ful ly make sense or have a real point or message as i t is
something that the genre i s about ; hav ing fun, not being too ser ious and making
music.

the two v ideos that are ver y simi lar to our s and the ones we have drawn most ideas
and inspi rat ion f rom.
The v ideo wi l l be something that wi l l gi ve the band a l ighter side than what most
bands have and wi l l put them as st range and unique and wi th the cur rent social
n e e d t o b e ‘ u n i q u e ’ o r a ‘ h i p s t e r ’ t h i s w i l l s e l l t h e b a n d t o t h e d e m o g r a p h i c w e
bel ieve wi l l enjoy the v ideo.

set i t aside and the band aside f rom other ar t i sts in the market today as many now
