Suzhou Wuzhong Taihu Tourist Area is located on the shore of Taihu
Lake in the southwest of Suzhou, covering an area of 21.5 square
kilometers.
The Taihu Lake in the tourist area is the main line, including the
ancient village of Taihu Ancient Town, the Taihu Lake, and the Taihu
Lake Natural Village. It includes the “China Biluochun Township”
Dongshan Scenic Area, “The First Wisdom Mountain in the World”
and the “Beautiful Mountain Village in Suzhou”. Mountain Scenic
Area, Taihu Lakeside National Wetland Park and surrounding scenic
spots and scenic spots such as Taihu Park, Xishan Scenic Area and
Guangfu Scenic Area are the first in China to take “Taihu Lake” as the
main line, connecting Taihu Ancient Town, Jiangnan Hill, Ecological

3. Historical evolution
In 1953, the Xuan Tomb Mountain garrison and the Shengen Temple

In 1982, Taihu Lake was listed in the list of the first batch of national-

Suzhou Wuzhong Taihu Tourist Area is located in the south of Jiangsu
Province. It spans Suzhou, Wuxi and Changzhou and contains many
scenic spots. The main scenery is concentrated in the West Mountain
Scenic Area and East Mountain Scenic Area of Suzhou and the Wuhu
Scenic Area of Wuxi. The total area of the tourist area is 250 square
kilometers.
Topography
The eastern part of Suzhou Taihu Lake Tourist Area is dominated by
plains, consisting of water network plains and low plains. There are
low hills in the west, which are the remaining veins extending to the
northeast of Tianmu Mountain in western Zhejiang. They are
distributed in the middle of Taihu Lake and coastal towns. The
highest peak in the territory is Lushan, and the main peak is 341.7
meters above sea level.

Suzhou Wuzhong Taihu Tourist Area is located in the northern edge
of the Central Asian Sea and is a monsoon climate type. Due to the

As of December 2011, Suzhou Wuzhong Taihu Tourist Area has
Ginkgo, Chestnut, Osmanthus fragrans, Dongting Red Orange, White
Sand Bark, Black Purple Bayberry, Water Eight Immortals (茭白,
Lotus Root, Cress, Litchi, Mushroom, Poria, Leek, Red Plants such as
Ling). There are rare tree species such as bovine nose plug, short-
stem bamboo, and purple nan in the mountainous area, as well as
medicinal plants such as scorpion, Sanqi, Codonopsis, Ganoderma
lucidum and Polygonum multiflorum. There are 151 proven drug
plants.

East Mountain Scenic Area
Dongshan, the full name of Dongting Dongshan or Dongdongting
Mountain, known as the Nuomu Mountain, is located more than 30
kilometers southwest of Suzhou City. It is a peninsula extending in
Taihu Lake, surrounded by water on three sides. It is one of the
national first-class scenic spots and a famous tourist town in Suzhou.
In 1982, it was announced by the State Council as one of the first
batch of 13 national scenic spots and scenic spots in Taihu Lake.

9. Mountain Scenic Area
Suzhou Lushan Mountain Scenic Area is located in the west of Gusu. It
is the first mountain in Suzhou. The main peak is “箬帽峰”, with an
elevation of 341.7 meters, a total length of about 7.5 kilometers, and a

Taihu Lakeside National Wetland Park
Suzhou Taihu Lakeside National Wetland Park is a supporting park
for the Taihu Visitor Center, located in the central area of the Taihu
Lake Scenic Avenue. From the entrance of the water windmill at
Taihu Lake Scenic Avenue in the east, to Taiyuan Xintiandi in the
west, the total length is 2 kilometers, and the Lake Visitor Center
covers an area of 119.5 acres. Taihu Park mainly has eight scenic
spots, such as “Trolley Bridge Exploration”, “Ludang Maze”, “Yu Ran
Double Pavilion”, “Windmill Shadow”, “Eight Immortals Crossing the
Sea”, “Gulling Heron”, “Fishing Boat Singing Late”, “Sunrise Listening

Biluochun Tea Culture Tourism Festival
The Biluochun Tea Culture Festival is held from March to April every
year. Biluochun Tea is one of the top ten famous teas in China. The
Taihu Lake area in Wuzhonghuan is the main tea producing area. The
production process of Biluochun is listed in the second batch of
intangible cultural heritage in Jiangsu Province. During the festival, a
special opening ceremony was held. The Wuzhong Tourism Promotion
Group went to the important source market in the country to launch
the Wuzhonghuan Taihu Spring Tourism Special Promotion
Conference, which showed the resources and culture of Suzhou
Wuzhong Taihu Tourism Scenic Spot, and introduced Biluochun Tea
as Various types of landscape tours, picking tours, stepping tours,
cultural tours and other routes on the main line. The scenic area also
launched various kinds of special activities to attract citizens to go to
Taihu Lake to carry out cycling, hiking, picking and other tourism

12. Sun Tzu Art and Culture Tourism Festival
Lushan, a tourist attraction in Wuzhong, Suzhou, is the “first wisdom
mountain in the world” named after Sun Tzu’s Art of War. The Sun
Tzu Culture and Tourism Festival is one of the main tourist festivals
in the scenic spot. During the one-month tourism festival, visitors
from all over the world were attracted by the International Seminar
on Sun Tzu’s Art of War, the World Women’s Go Tournament, the
ancestral ceremonies of the descendants of Sun Wu and the large-

China Taihu Lake Festival
Suzhou Wuzhong Taihu Tourism Scenic Area holds the grand “China
Taihu Lake Festival” at the end of summer and autumn. The Taihu
Lake Festival is a multi-disciplinary and comprehensive activity that
integrates culture, business and tourism. During the festival, in
addition to the splendid opening ceremony, the scenic area also used
the festival to launch a “Taihu Golden Autumn Tourism Month” event
for more than a month, and launched a series of Jinqi Taihu style
tourism routes, which were favored by tourists.

13. Folk Custom Tourism Festival
The Folk Customs Tourism Festival originated from the unique folk
art treasure of Dongshan Town – Taige. Dongshan Taige originated in
the Song Dynasty and prevailed in the Qing Dynasty. It is an ancient
drama with high-altitude acrobatic performances. It is mainly a
performance of folk dramas and music stories. It is a wonderful work
in the Jiangnan folk art library. During the festival, in addition to the
