The Tourism Area of Sun Yat-sen Hometown is located in Cuiheng
Village, Nanlang Town, Zhongshan City, Guangdong Province. It
borders Zhujiangkou in the east and Wugui Mountain in the west. It is
adjacent to Hong Kong and Macao and is about 20 kilometers away
from Zhongshan City. The city is about 90 kilometers away from
Shenzhen and Hong Kong.
The total area of Sun Yat-sen’s hometown tourist area is 3.15 square
kilometers. The tourist area includes the five core scenic spots of Sun
Yat-sen’s Former Residence Memorial Hall, Cuiheng Village,
Zhongshan City, Xinhai Revolutionary Memorial Park and
Litoujianshan. It presents the historical relics of Sun Yat-sen from
birth to revolutionary activities.
On November 4th, 2016, Sun Yat-sen’s hometown tourist area was
rated as AAAAA scenic spot by the former National Tourism
Administration.
Historical evolution
Qing Xianfeng four years (1854), Sun Yat-sen grandfather Sun
Jingxian tomb site was completed.
On November 12, 1866, Sun Yat-sen was born in the former site of the
3. ancestral home.
In 1883, Sun Yat-sen brought back the acid tree species from
Honolulu and planted them here.
In 1892, Sun Yat-sen’s eldest brother Sun Mei came back from the
Honolulu reunion and was presided over by Sun Yat-sen to build the
former residence of Sun Yat-sen. After the completion of the project,
the former ancestral home was converted into a kitchen and a well
was dug.
In 1913, Sun Mei expanded the backyard and removed the old
ancestral home after the kitchen was added.
In 1956, the memorial hall of Sun Yat-sen’s former residence was
established.
In 1996, the Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hall was rebuilt.
On November 12, 1999, the Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hall was completed
and opened to the audience.
In 2001, due to the location of the TV series “Sun Yat-sen”, the
Zhongshan Municipal People’s Government invested 150 million yuan
to build it. On March 18th, after the filming of “Sun Yat-sen”,
Zhongshan Film and Television City was officially opened to tourists.
In May 2015, the Zhongshan Hometown Tourist Area submitted the
feasibility analysis and request for the establishment of the national
AAAAA-level tourist scenic spot; in June, the Zhongshan Municipal
Government executive meeting studied the relevant work of the
national AAAAA-level tourist scenic spot; in July, the establishment of
the national AAAAA-level tourism was initiated. Work in the scenic
spot, and set up the Sun Yat-sen Hometown Tourist Area Management
Committee, responsible for the renovation and improvement of the
scenic spot; in August, completed the preparation of the national
AAAAA-level tourist scenic spot work plan and plan, launched the
scenic area improvement planning and evaluation, and invited expert
consultants to conduct preliminary evaluation of the scenic spot. In
October, the national AAAAA-level tourist scenic spot rectification and
upgrading plan was established into the preparation stage, and the
work task decomposition table was initially drawn up; on November
18-19, the national AAAAA-level tourist scenic spot resources and
landscape quality expert review were established through the
declaration.

Geographic location
Sun Yat-sen’s hometown tourist area covers a total area of 3.15
square kilometers. It is located in Cuiheng Village, Nanlang Town,
Zhongshan City, Guangdong Province. It borders Zhujiangkou in the
east and Wugui Mountain in the west. It is adjacent to Hong Kong and
Macao. It is about 20 kilometers away from the urban area of
Zhongshan City. 90 kilometers, across the Pearl River estuary and
Shenzhen, Hong Kong.

Memorial Hall
The Sun Yat-Sen Former Residence Memorial Hall was established in

Agricultural Culture Exhibition Area, the Intangible Cultural Heritage
Exhibition Area, the Xinhai Revolution Memorial Park and the Yang

Xinhai Revolution Memorial Park
The Xinhai Revolution Memorial Park, designed by Professor Chen
Keshi, is a collection of Sun Yat-sen and the 1911 Revolution and
leisure activities. The overall architectural style of the park is biased
towards “Chinese and Western”. The Memorial Park highlights the
spirit of the democratic revolutionary headed by Sun Yat-sen in the
Xinhai process. The granite diary wall is engraved with Sun Yat-sen,
Huang Xing, Cai Yuanpei, Mao Zedong, Zhu De, Dong Biwu, Song
Qingling and other diaries, memoirs and poems on the history of the

8. Cuiheng Village
Cuiheng Village is located in Nanlang Town, Zhongshan City,
Guangdong Province, China. It was originally named Caikeng Village.
It was renamed Cuiheng Village because of the nearby green forest.
Plough pointed mountain
Pulitou Jianshan is located in the north of Cuiheng Village. It is named
after the plowshare. It is the highest peak of Cuiheng. It cooperates
with Jin Beili Mountain and Huangniushan to help Cuiheng Village on
three sides. It faces the geographical advantage of water and can
overlook the mountain. The grand view of Sun Yat-sen’s hometown
tourist area, overlooking Qi’ao Island in Zhuhai City and the Qi’ao
Bridge, known as the “Qi’ao Eight Views”.
On the mountain, there are Sun Yat-sen grandfather Sun Jingxian,
father Sun Dacheng, brother Sun Mei, relatives Sun Chang and Sun
family tombs. The tombs are mainly built in the traditional circle-
style style, retaining the tombs of Cuiheng Village. Among them, Sun
Jingxian’s tomb is located at the south front of Lioujianshan, facing
9. the Pearl River Estuary. The feng shui is excellent, and the name of
the land is “Emperor Tian”.
Honors
In June 2007, Cuiheng Village was selected as the third batch of
Chinese historical and cultural villages.
On November 4th, 2016, Sun Yat-sen’s hometown tourist area was
awarded the national “5A-level scenic spot” plaque by the National
Tourism Administration. It is the first AAAAA-level tourist attraction
in Zhongshan City and the 12th country in Guangdong Province. It is
also the first in Guangdong Province. Culture is the national 5A level
tourist attraction of the brand.
10. Travel Information
Ticket information
Sun Yat-sen’s Former Residence Memorial Hall is a free attraction,
but must be admitted by ticket. The ticketing location is the main
entrance of Sun Yat-sen’s former residence memorial hall. The
ticketing time is from 9:00 to 16:30 every day, and admission is
stopped after 16:30. One person, one vote, valid on the day, expired
and voided.
Plough Point is a free attraction and no tickets are required.
Zhongshan City is a toll attraction with ticket sales from 8:30 to 17:30
Monday to Friday and 8:00 to 18:00 on Saturday. Adult tickets are 65
yuan/person, student tickets are 35 yuan/person, children over 65
years old and children under 1.5 meters are half-bill 32 yuan/person,
and those over 70 years old and children under 1.2 meters are exempt
from the ticket.
Travel information
Visitors can take Zhongshan Bus No. 12, Zhongshan Bus K16 Road,
Zhongshan Bus K26 Road, Zhongshan Bus Line 087, Zhongshan Bus
No. 089 to Sun Yat-sen’s Former Residence Station (Yang Yin Former
Residence) Station, Zhongshan Film City Station, or stop at Gongbei
Customs. The tourist bus that goes directly to Nanlang Bus Station
can reach the Sun Yat-sen hometown tourist area. You can also take
the Zhongshan Bus No. 12 and Zhongshan Bus No. 087 bus to the Sun
Yat-sen Hometown Tourist Area after arriving at the Guangzhou-
Zhuhai Intercity Railway.
