By usingGoogle’s advancedsearchIwasable to findrelevant
resourcestouse for my researchwhile avoidingnon-
trustworthysourcessuchas otherstudentwork.Althoughthis
didnot guarantee thatall the resourcesfoundwere reliable,it
greatlyreducesthe time takento findone.
At pointsinmyplanning andevaluation IusedPrezi asan
alternative toPowerPoint;thiswasbecause the topicsIused
Prezi torepresentwere broaderandeasiertoorganise ina
dynamiconline tool ratherthana simple PowerPoint.
Whenthe topic wastoo simple andstraightforwardtouse
prezi for,I useda combinationonPowerPointandSlideShare.
PowerPointwasgoodsoftware formakingsimple andquick
presentationswhichcouldlaterbe embeddedontomyjournal
withSlideShare.
I used adobe Photoshopand Illustratorduringmyplanningto
create practice versionsof a poster;thiswasdone to
familiarisemyself withthe software andlearnhow touse
them before we moved on to making our draft and final poster.
We usedfinal cut pro to make our animaticandteasertrailer;
howeverthissoftware wasquite limitingsince we couldonly
use it onMacs whichmeantthat our editingtime wasvery
limited.Althoughitwasusefulforuploadingourtrailerssince
it hada built-inexportthatuploadeditstraighttoYouTube.

2. One of the mainpiecesof equipmentwe usedduringour
productionwasmobile phones;thisallowedeasycommunication
betweenthe crew andmade more difficultshotspossible.If the
filmingcrew hadtobe splitupin half in orderto shoota
complicatedshot,ourphonesallowedustocommunicate a
countdowntoensure bothgroup’stimingwasonpoint.
Whenfilming,we usedadigital Canon80D cameraas ourmain
filming/photographydevice.Withthiscamera’smultiple settings
for brightnesscontrast,zoom, andfocuswe were able toshoota
varietyof shotswithrelative ease.Italsosavesahighqualityfile
for anypictureswe tookwhichmeantthat the material we got
fromour photographywasof a goodstandard andready tobe
editedinsoftware suchasPhotoshoporIllustrator.

free soundeffectswhichwe couldtheneditusingfinal cutproand
integrate intoourtrailer.DaFontalsoprovideduswithfontsthat
have free licencesforuse ineducation.We usedPhotoshoptoedit
and adjustthese fontssothat theywouldbe suitable forour
product.However,inindustryandreal life mediawe wouldhave
to purchase a commercial licence touse these fonts.
