Ruchir Pandey is presenting research progress on a DFIG-Solar PV interconnected hybrid renewable energy generation system to the Research Progress Committee. The presentation discusses using a doubly fed induction generator, which is commonly used in large wind turbines due to advantages in variable-speed applications. It also discusses how solar PV generation typically uses a grid conditioning unit containing a rectifier-inverter and battery bank. There are different proposed topologies for hybrid systems combining DFIG wind turbines and solar PV, including independent or interconnected systems with a common DC bus.
