● When Christianity was just starting, people in Rome just thought that
Christians were strange, but were tolerated by most people
● Christians believed that their only ruler was God in heaven, and refused to
do some of the things the Romans told them to do. The consequence would
sometimes be that they would be thrown in the arena with the lions.
● A Roman Emperor named Nero did not like Christians, and soon started to
take them and torture them until he killed them for the public to see as a

Mystery Religion
There was (and still is) a religion called "Mystery Religion". It
was a Christian religion the the Egyptians and the Greeks would
use. The Egyptians had the goddesses: Osiris and the goddess
Isis. And the Greek's had only the goddess: Demeter and
Persephone.

What do we know?
Here are some of the things that we have from Early Christian history, that give
us evidence and information:
● The things that we know about Jesus Christ were discovered from four
books that are called The Gospels. These books tell us about what Jesus's
life was like here on earth.
● At the beginning of Christianity, Bishops ruled an area called a Diocese. the
point was that back then, there were Bishops instead of Popes.
● Every Christian had no doubt that Jesus wasn't real back then, and no one
actually asked until the early 20th Century.

Famous Early Christians
Here are some of the famous Christians from early Christianity:
● Augustine lived in the time of 354-430 AD, and is famous for his writings
and teachings in Rome north Africa.
● Paul was what was called an apostle and one

preached about Jesus, and was baptized.
● Jesus was of course a very famous person in early
times. He was a teacher to many people. He was crucified,
which means that he was tied up to the cross and they
hammered nails into his palm then put a crown of thorns on
head. Christians say he was resurrected from the dead.
