Christology is the study of Jesus Christ, specifically his person, divinity, and work. It comes from the Greek words "Christus" meaning Messiah and "logos" meaning study. There are two basic approaches to studying and understanding Jesus - as both man and God, and more recently emphasizing his lowly, human origins and gradual revelation of his divine identity.
