2. From my website analysis
research I discovered common
codes and conventions that I
wanted to include in our website.
We drew out some rough
templates of how we wanted our
website to appear and had a group
discussion on the colours, images
and fonts we wanted to use. We
noted down all our ideas so we
could refer to them later.
5. Planning the layout
Front/main page:
Background image of artist
that fills the page
Name of artist and the album title
Social Media icon bar containing: Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and YouTube
6. As you can see we stuck very closely to our planning of the main/front page. We selected this
image because from our research we discovered that the main page generally contained an
‘in action shot’ of the artist and according to target audience research most people agreed
that they found this set up appealing and that they would definitely visit this website.
We decided to go with the grey/silver colour because in my research I learnt about the
connotations of the colour which fitted nicely into our representation. The website ‘wix’ allowed
me to test background images, add font and add the social media icons.
7. Rough design of the welcome page
Navigation buttons
with text on them Image of Luna (either the brick
wall shots, the mirror shots or the
throne shots)
8. Background image of our artist is conventional
Navigation
buttons which
take you to the
sub-pages
We might change the thickness of the
writing and perhaps change the colour as it
is difficult to read against this background.
9. We thought this font would be
most suitable in terms of how we
want to market our artist as
sophisticated and classy. The font
is elegant and neither chunky nor
outdated for the representation
we are aiming for.
We have another background
image of our artist. We chose
this image because it gave our
website more variety (all the
shots used so far are face on) so
we wanted something different
and interesting to engage
consumers.
Tour date information is
condensed in this simple table
here so that consumers can
easily retrieve the key
information. We are planning
on adding a link to ‘Ticket
master’ or ‘Event brite’.
This sub-page is experimental we created it as we went
along.
10. Caption explaining
that the music
video is new and
gives details of the
title of the album
Our music video will
appear on this sub-page
centrally
The logo we have produced for Luna Official
A feature where
consumers can
purchase the
track/video on
ITunes
An image of Luna on the throne which
plays on an idea explored in the music
video
We discussed this
about a simple set
up in class and
created it together.
11. Background image (in action shot)
This page is temporary: ideas are still in progress
Writing is in the same font and
colours as the previous sub-pages
We are thinking of
making a show reel
on this page as I have
seen this feature on
artists such as Ella
Henderson's website
A selection of images from our initial photo shoot that will we
feel show the personality of our artist best
12. Another image we thought would engage consumers
Temporary
image
From my website research I noticed that not all of the websites had an ‘About’ section
however as our artist is up and coming I believe it is necessary to include some information
about her.
