2. NEWSSTAND
The genre that caught my eye the most was the
gossip genre. These caught my eye the most because
of all the bright colors and big fonts that attract
attention.
The yearly Florida travel guide caught my eye the
most on the newsstand because of the cover image.
The yearly Florida travel guide has the best
photography and the best design. The designers
created the magazine in a way to be most appealing to
readers. It also had the articles that caught my
attention the most because I want to try to make my
magazine specific to Florida.
The magazine that had the best table of contents was
Lucky because it was formatted in a way that was
easy to follow along.
The magazine that had the best articles was Elle
because they were very thorough.
3. NEWSSTAND
What I noticed at the newsstand was that more
popular magazines were in front and the not as
popular magazines were kind of hidden. The travel
genre doesn’t seem to be a very popular magazine
genre because it was hidden in the back. I had to
really look to find those magazines. The design
style that I liked was the table of contents that
included pictures.
4. NEWSSTAND
This magazine is
inspirational to me
because it focuses on
places to visit in Florida. I
want my magazine to be
centered around Florida.
The cover image attracts
attention with the colors
and many coverlines.

17. TRAVEL + LEISURE
Travel + Leisure is about insider access to
destinations around the globe with a signature
mix of smart advice, immersive photography, and
expert reporting on hotels, food, design, style,
culture, and trends.
The target audience is mainly females at 52%,
aged around 47.
The type of articles that are inside the magazine
are best hotels, restaurants, trends, and places to
see.
18. TRAVEL + LEISURE
The central image of the covers are generally a
woman on the beach, the beach, or if it is a
specific place like Paris it features a famous
landmark.
All the photos are taken outdoors and on location
of the focused place of the article.
The masthead changes colors depending on
what color looks best with the cover image. They
never have puffs or pugs. The coverlines are
placed according to the space around the picture.
19. This cover image is
most inspirational to
me above the others
because of the format.
The image has enough
space on the side for
the coverlines so it
doesn’t look cluttered.
In addition, the cover
image is appealing to
the eye. I like how the
color of the masthead
is complimentary to the
cover image.

23. TABLE OF CONTENTS
The table of contents contains many pictures
pertaining to the subject. The pictures use bright
colors to attract readers with many vivid scenes.
While there is some white space, there isn’t much.
The white space that is used is appealing to the
reader’s eye. The layout for the table of contents is
either pictures around the border or the contents in
the middle or pictures on top of the content.

26. ARTICLES
What the articles have in common is that they are
all about locations. The cover of the issue has an
overhead view of a hotel with a pool and palm trees
bordering around the pool. The cover image is very
balanced and linear.
