Listen to one of Michael’s lectures and take down what he says word for word. (about 2 hours) 2. Watch one of the films from the list twice or more, describe one impressing scene and write down 3 wonderful lines 台词 as well as a comment of over 300 words and 2 questions you would like to ask. Film Review Each group member will clip one different scene (1 min) from the particular film they have agreed on to display and appreciate (1 min) in class. 12. Programs in the English class Weekly Variations The other 3 groups will draw a lot the week before to prepare for the programs to be performed. They might be a debate, a recitation competition, a drama, a group discussion, a talk show, an interview or whatever the teacher has designed and described. The teacher grades every participant and awards the winners, if there are some.

The Evaluation System Your Homework (10 points) Prepare an exercise-book of A4 size and hand in a clean copy of your homework in the 14th week which includes the dictation of Michael’s 15 lectures and 15 film reviews (more that 300 words each) with 2 questions after each review. Write by yourself! (= 手写 + 自己写 ) No printed copies will be accepted! Any plagiarism ( 剽窃 , 抄袭 ) will be severely punished.
14. The Evaluation System— The Oral Exam (20%) It falls on the 16th week. 1.The teacher draws a lot to decide on the 3 students (A, B, C) to take the exam in a group. 2. Each of them draws a film from the 15 films required. 3. A tells B and C the film he/she has got and B asks A a question on the film for A to answer (1 min) and then C asks another question. 4. When A answers the second question, it’s B’s turn to answer C and A’s questions and then C’s turn. (6-8 mins in all) 5. The teacher grades every question and answer of every exam taker.

16. The Evaluation System— Additional rewards Coupons will be given as a reward to good performance and an encouragement to questions and comments in class. At the end of each class, you hand in all your coupons and the teacher will make a record of the total number of the coupons you have got, which will turn into some additional points to your final grade.
