Uvulla elongata is a developm

y abnormally long Uvula, Whi
ch touches or hangs lower tha
n the base of the tongue.

5. Clinical Features:-
- Usually seen at birth & sometimes has a familial tend
ency for occurrence.
- More frequently seen among females than males.
- Asymptomatic, some sensitive patient may cough or
gag when elongated Uvula touches the epiglottis or th
e base of the tongue.
6. Differential diagnosis:-
Neoplasm of the Uvula.
Treatment:-
- In the most cases, no treatment required.
- In symptomatic cases,astrigents can be used which will cont
ract the Uvula.
- In severe cases amputation is recommended.
