INTRODUCTION
 The sun is made up of hydrogen and helium and it emits enormous amount of heat.
 A solar cell which forms a primary part of the solar mobile charger works on the principle
of photovoltaic effect.
 It is made up of packets of energy called PHOTON
 When a photon is absorbed the energy of the photon is transferred to the electron.
OBJECTIVES
 To study the basic operations of a solar mobile charger.
 To know the advantages and limitations of its use.
 To know the future of solar mobile charger.
 Maximizing the use of it in Day to Day life.
SOLAR PANELS
 A solar panel is a set of solar photovoltaic modules
electrically connected and mounted on a supporting
structure.
 It can be used as a component of a larger photovoltaic
system to generate and supply electricity in commercial
and residential applications
 A photovoltaic system typically includes an inverter , and
sometimes a battery and solar tracker
REGULATOR
 A voltage regulator is used to ensure that no more than is
delivered .
 If a DC supply of greater than 12v is used, excessive heat
will be generated and the board may be damaged. If a DC
supply of less then 5v is used , insufficient voltage will be
present at the regulator’s output.
 If power supply provides a voltage higher than 7 or 8 volts,
the regulator must dissipate significant heat,
WORKING PRINCIPLE
 Photons attacking the solar cells are absorbed by any
semiconducting material such as silicon.
 The energy of the absorbed photon is transferred to the
electron.
 This energy knocks of the electrons from the atoms.
 It flow unidirectional through the material which provides
electrical energy.
 An array of solar cells convert the solar energy into usable
electrical energy.
CIRCUIT DIAGRAM
ADVANTAGES
• Solar energy is a renewable energy sources.
• Solar energy is a renewable energy sources.
• Solar cells panel on the solar charger does not require much maintenance.
• It also helps reduces cost such as electric bills as the solar charger source of
energy is free.
DISADVANTAGES
 Solar charger need light to work
 Charging a device by solar charger is much slower
than the main charger.
APPLICATIONS
• Used for low power portable electronics, like calculators or
small fans.
• Small portable models designed to charge a range of different
mobile phones , iPods or other portable audio equipment.
• Public solar chargers permanently installed in public places ,
such as parks and street which can use for free.
CONCLUSION
• Battery life is more as high voltages are not developed.
• Adoptability is also high. So solar mobile charger is highly applicable in
today's world.
• Solar energy is renewable and can be used for the simplest Of purpose i.e
solar mobile charger.
