EXECUTIVE SYNOPSIS
 I am a resourceful senior Project Manager/Director with 17 years of rich diverse experience with
SABIC the fourth largest petrochemical company in the world including Summer Program in Saudi
Aramco.
 My experience presents direct effective project management of $ 3.9 Billion mega projects and
contributes in making decisions and direction to $ 52 Billion mega projects within SABIC Global
(inside Saudi Arabia and outside Saudi Arabia). This include sound experience in business
development from an idea until start up.
 I have completed creation of Project Management System in SABIC which is applied on more than $
96 Billion Mega Projects in SABIC effective from June 2013.
 Extensive business and project management experience in developing and executing mega &
complex projects coordinating with global PMC, PDP, FEED and EPC companies in executing
projects on time, within budgets, meeting quality & safety standards and achieving company
objectives.

managing team in preparing all documents like invitation to bid (ITB) packages, project schedules &
budgets and lead the bid process for appointment of PMC, FEED and EPC contractors.

the project and coordinate until implementation by Saudi Aramco Maintenance team or Sub-contractor.

Assignment: Oil To Chemical (OTC) Project - PMC Senior Manager for overall project engineering
service program
Responsibility to do the following:
 Cover Steam Crackers Projects Director (General Manager) during his absence.
 Development of the overall OTC complex projects (50 mega projects of TIC about $30 Billion including
refinery, steam crackers, etc.).
 Lead the overall PMC open bidding for the complex projects to preform Pre-FEED/FEED for the entire
program by hiring two General Engineering Services (GES) Class “A” Global Contractors to play the
role of PMC in order to support SABIC in developing and engineering the entire complex
unites/projects. Contracts are ready for award once instructed by management.
 Set overall Complex Projects Execution Strategy
 Manage PMC Contractors to deliver the expectation for Pre-FEED and FEED phases including EPC phase
for the 50 mega projects.
 Focal point for the entire team mobilization/demobilization for the project needs in coordination with
SABIC Global Mobility and USA Authority with PMC Contractors.
 Set up the complete Overall Project Execution Plan for the entire Complex with both PMC Contractors
(Integrator & Support).
 Managing complex projects support, complex projects administration (e.g. staffing, cost estimation,
gating system, etc.), procurement (e.g. SPA, LLE, etc.) and contracting (e.g. ITB development, open
bidding, clarification, etc.).
 Provide guidance to other Project Managers/Directors to ensure their compliance to SABIC project’s
system as I made the project management system for all SABIC mega projects in 2013.
September 2013 to June 2014
Assignment: Complex Projects Overall Integration Project Manager (Deputy General Manager) +
Project Manager for MTBE Improvement Project;
Responsibility to do the following:
 Cover Overall Projects General Manager during his absence.
 To support overall complex projects (9 mega projects of TIC about $6 Billion) development &
supporting SABIC business team in joint venture development agreement.
 Lead 2 major open bidding for the complex projects to preform Pre-FEED/FEED for one of the mega
projects and to hire General Engineering Services (GES) Class A Global Contractor to play the role of
PMC in order to support SABIC in developing and engineering the entire complex unites/projects. Both
Contracts awarded within 6 months.
 Set overall Complex Projects Execution Strategy
 Manage GES Contractor to deliver the expectation for Pre-FEED and FEED phases for the 9 mega
projects.
 Focal point for the entire team mobilization/demobilization for the project needs in coordination with
SABIC Global Mobility and USA Authority with awarded Contractor.
 Set up the complete Overall Project Execution Plan for the entire Complex with awarded Contractor in
coordination with SABIC Joint Venture Partner (SHELL)
 Managing MTBE Improvement Project as Project Manager to increase SADAF MTBE production (under
development).
 Attend and present Steering Committee Meetings with top management.
 Ensure the Overall Complex Projects Integration for the 9 projects and ensure integration with existing
facility and utilities required.

Assignment: Project Manager, Mega Projects Development Department;
Responsibility to do the following:
 Created Mega Project System to be applied on more than $ 96 Billion Mega Projects in all SABIC mega
projects
 Representing Mega Projects to Certify SABIC E&PM with ISO as sr. member of TQM Committee
 Assess and provide directives to 300 TPA of Polymers (Nexlene Technology) - Due Diligence for
potential Joint Venture between SABIC and Global Company in Far East.
 Support SABIC Business Team as Business Development Team Leader by assessing and providing
directives to 600 TPA of Methanol - Due Diligence for potential Joint Venture between SABIC and
Global Company in USA.
 Feasibility study leadership with M/S CB&I Lummus in USA for 600 TPA MTBE in SADAF (by using
CATOFIN Unit)
 Assess and provide directives to replace 3 Old Extruders by 2 big Extruders in Polypropylene Plant in

 Managed the project and coordinated with the EPC contractor Samsung Engineering and assure
adherence to all contract schedules and specifications meeting SABIC expectations.
 Monitor the supply of equipment and material as scheduled to the project site to meet all deadlines and
milestones.
 Ensure that the contractor complies fully with all contractual obligations safeguarding SABIC’s rights
& interests in all cost & schedule change and variation orders/claims
 Coordinate with Samsung in identifying and implementing opportunities for expediting the
progress of work and hand over to SABIC site team.
 Report to the SOCC President, Project Executive Committee & Board of Directors and SABIC E&PM

EPC, Detail Engineering & Procurement Phase: Project Manager, Samsung Engineering, Seoul South
Korea, May 2011 to Jan 2011
 Assembled a project management team (PMT) and kicked-off EPC activities at the Samsung
Engineering facilities in Korea.
 Ensured completion of all phases of the out-of-Kingdom activities of the EPC contract and delivery
of all materials with supporting drawings and documents to the project site on time for the
scheduled groundbreaking ceremony and start of construction in Sep 2011.
 Monitored adherence to costs & schedules protecting SABIC from undue variation/change order
claims.
 Migrated the project management team and the contractor’s task force to the project site to build the
plant.
 Explored and exploited all opportunities for expediting the progress of various jobs.

Front End Engineering Design (FEED) Phase & LSTK Open Bidding: Project Manager with the FEED
Contractor, Fluor Corporation Sugar Land TX USA, Aug 2010 to Apr 2011
 Formed a project management team (PMT) and coordinated with Fluor in completing the FEED
package, started the procurement process for long lead time items and supervised value engineering
programs which reduced project implementation schedules from 24 months to 18 months.
 Prepared all invitation to bid (ITB) packages for award of lump sum turnkey (LSTK) contracts.
 Led the complete bidding process including technical & commercial bid evaluation, selection of the
winning contractor and issue of letter of intent (LOI) with 40% savings over estimated costs and 4
month saving too.
 Initially supported the SPU at SABIC Riyadh and managed the finalization of JV agreement with
Albemarle Netherlands, overcoming constraints pending from 2006 and developed the roadmap for the
way forward.

 Reported to the Projects General Manager and supported all Ibn Rushd-II projects under execution.
 Established the PMC program, formed the PMT, prepared ITB, managed the bidding, bid evaluation,
negotiations and finalization of FEED & PMC contracts.
 Coordinated with the Project Director of the PMC and reviewed & approved of the PMC staffing &
program.
 Remote project managed the pre-FEED/Duty Spec activities for the Utilities & Off-sites (U&O)
project at Fluor the Harlem Netherlands and Aromatics project at UOB USA and led the bidding
for the reimbursable contracts for PMC and FEED, signed the PMC & FEED contracts and moved the
FEED to Fluor Sugar Land USA.
 Remote managed the PMT in Seoul South Korea and completed the PDP/FEED for the PTA DBN
project and led the open bidding process for finalizing the LSTK contract.
 Supported the PMT in Switzerland and resolved issues with UIF (Uhde) and completed the FEED &
led the open bidding process for awarding the LSTK project for construction of the PET-II plant.
 Managed project controls – reporting, finance, accounting & HR, procurement, contracting –
including negotiation of mega project contracts, resources recruitment and administration departments
for all SABIC Americas activities.
 Directed project management for PP at Basell to finalize PDP and led bedding for FEED with
Technimont Italy as Project Manager. However, PP project was shelved due to feedstock limitation
in July 2009.
 Supported PDH project remotely at CB&I the Hague Netherlands. However, PDH project was
shelved due to feedstock limitation in July 2009.
Oct 2008 to Mar 2009
Project: Halobutyl rubber Project at KEMYA, a JV between SABIC & Exxon Mobil Cost: USD 1.8 billion.
SABIC E&PM Project Manager assigned to Jacobs Engineering Houston TX USA, Nov 2008 to Mar 2009
 Worked closely with ExxonMobil project manager and Jacobs Engineering (executing their first EPC
contract for SABIC) and established the SABIC Engineering & Project Management (E&PM) system.
 Ensued maintenance of confidentiality of the technology and intellectual property of ExxonMobil for the
PDP/License for Halobutyl rubber.

 Contributed in studying and identifying the root causes for delays in Sharq & Saudi Kayan projects
and prepared reports with appropriate recommendations.

Project: YANSAB Ethylene Glycol I Project, Project Manager
Capacity: 700,000 TPA,
EPC Contractor: Toyo Engineering Japan, TIC Cost: USD 400 million.
EPC, Construction Phase: SABIC E&PM Project Manager and Yansab Operation Manager, Yanbu
Industrial City, Nov 2006 to Sep 2008
 Managed the project and coordinated and supervised all activities of the EPC contractor Toyo
Engineering with peak deployment of 2000 persons and achieved cold mechanical completion of the
plant, more than 2 months ahead of schedule in Dec 2007.
 Managed the smooth handover of the unit to the Operation Manager with rectification of the punch-
B list, steam blow & flushing.
 Successfully resolved all change orders/claims ($ 23 Million saving) and completed the assignment
within the approved budget.
 Delivered the best safety record in YANSAB with 10 million safe man-hours without lost time injury.
 Executed additional responsibility as the Operation Manager until onboarding of a permanent
