I graduated with a Grade 1 in the West African Examinations Council Examination, leading to the award of a Shell scholarship for outstanding students, for further studies in the United Kingdom. I completed a one-year fast track Advanced Level course and subsequently admitted to the University of Manchester Institute of Science & Technology (UMIST) where I studied Mechanical Engineering obtaining a B. Sc (Hons). My self-drive and passion for knowledge and further educational development led to enrolment in post-graduate course in Mechanics. I carried out research in Stress Analysis of Pressure Vessels and Piping systems and was awarded M. Sc and Ph. D degrees in quick succession on completion. I have worked in project engineering and management for over 35 years during which I worked on major projects in Nigeria, Europe and in the USA, in the Oil & Gas and petro-chemical industries. My working career has been characterised by broadening assignments in diverse disciplines resulting in development of multiple skills that are relevant in current global business environment where external influences impact projects to considerable extent. I have worked and lived in locations outside Nigeria, including the USA, Holland, and Italy. I spent over 10 years in non-technical but equally challenging strategic business support roles that have developed my skills and competences in various disciplines including Human Resource Services, Sustainable Development management, Project Coordination/Interface management, and Strategic Stakeholder/Venture Relations & Issues management. Driven by desire to make effective contributions in solving critical (national) issues relating to hydrocarbon development, I have developed passion and skills for strategic engagement of key stakeholders, made presentations on topical issues at various conferences, and provided leadership to the industry.
