The municipal waste disposal plant in Olsztyn, Poland (ZGOK) has a capacity to process 110,000 metric tons of refuse derived fuel (RDF) per year. RDF is a type of alternative fuel produced from processed municipal waste with a high calorific value of around 18 MJ/kg. The ZGOK facility includes buildings for mechanical waste treatment, biological treatment, and administration, as well as three reloading stations that help reduce traffic by transferring waste between collection vehicles and trucks transporting waste to ZGOK.
