This project involved setting up a basic network between a Windows computer and an Ubuntu virtual machine using a travel router. Key steps included: 1. Creating a network diagram showing the travel router, Windows laptop, and Ubuntu VM connected via Ethernet cables. 2. Configuring the router to assign IPv4 and IPv6 addresses, though IPv6 addressing could not be fully implemented. 3. Bridging the network adapters between the host computer and VM so both could receive IP addresses. 4. Testing connectivity between the devices by pinging each component to ensure proper network function. The last step was changing the router connection to a wireless LAN, though IPv6 addressing still could not be resolved.
