Home Network Configuration - Multiple Router Same SSID
1. Configure eachdevice individuallyviadirectconnectionfromPCtothe router.
2. AssignrouterstaticIP addressnetworkEx.(192.168.0.1 - 192.168.0.254)
Well use 192.168.0.1 as the IPaddressfor our firstrouter,thiswill be the gateway.
3. Leave DHCP enabledonfirstrouter,disableitoneverydevice after,youonlywantaddresses
handedoutfrom one source. Note:If DHCP is off on thesecond routerbeforeyou configurethe
IP,you will haveto statically assign thedevice into its LAN (wired) to be ableto furtherconfigure
it.
4. RegardingDHCP,setthe range afterthe definedstaticipaddresses.If we use 192.168.0.1 -
192.168.0.3, we will wanttostart our range at 192.168.0.4, DHCP will handout addressesafter
thisex.192.168.0.5 etc.
5. Assignthe seconddevice tothe above examplesnextIPAddress(192.168.0.2, its gatewaywill
be 192.168.0.1) RemembertoturnDHCP off.
6. If you assigna thirdrouteretc., the IPaddresswill goup.Ex 192.168.0.3 -.254
7. For the physical connectionbetweenall devices,the modemtothe firstrouterwe will use the
wan port,each correspondingrouterhookedupafterwill gobetweenLAN portsEx.> Modem
to RouterWan > RouterLAN to RouterLAN and soon.
8. You shouldnowbe able toaccess all routerconfigurationsGUIsfromthere assignedIP
addresses192.168.0.1, 192.168.0.2, 192.168.0.3, etc.
9. Under the wirelessconfigurationof eachDevice,configure the same SSID,Encryptionalgorithm
Ex. (TKIP+AES) WPA2Personal,andgive themall the same networkpassword.
10. Save all of yoursettings.Youshouldnow be able toconnecton your clientdevice (Phone,
Laptop) to the configuredSSID,youwill onlysee one networkastheyare all one.Whenyou
successfullyconnectyouwill be able toroamthroughoutthe areawithout losingsignal strength
