TFN is a youth-led nonprofit that delivers education support in rural Nepal through university graduates. It operates in 3 districts, organizing student exchanges and environmental programs. Its goal is to end education inequity through community-based approaches like its Big Brother, Big Sister project. HERD is a research nonprofit that promotes evidence-informed policies through projects covering health, injuries, and family planning. It has conducted over 24 projects across Nepal to improve health and update data, adding to policies and helping thousands through community-based health programs. Both organizations employ youth and focus on sustainable, community-focused work to create long-term change.

• Operates in 3 districts of Nepal: Lalitpur,
Sindhupalchowk and Dhanusha districts.
• Organizes exchange program for about 60 students
from rural area to Kathmandu and vice-versa.
• Through the help of other organizations TFN has also
extended hand in environment sector through
various programs i.e. tree- plantation, maintaining the
cleanliness of the school area etc.

• Descriptive Analysis of Injuries and Risk Factors in 25 April
2015 Nepal Earthquake and Nepal Flood 2017 with
media monitoring.

14. COMMUNITY BASED APPROACH
• It has covered all 75 districts of Nepal through
various projects and programs.
• Conducted programs in Health Sector (Rural Area’s)
i.e. Public health, maternal health, Fertility health,
new-born health, etc.

HERD has operated on 24 projects until date and 9 are
currently in function.
1. Surveys for Urban Equity (SUE).
2. Qualitative survey on community based, burn Injury.
3. Strengthening Nepal Family Planning Program.
4. Descriptive analysis of injuries and risk factors in April
2015 earthquake.

16. RESULTS/OUTCOMES
Through different activities carries out by the organization, Some of
the major outcomes are:
• Has been able to add/change policies of Nepal related to health
and rights under evidence based data and reports.
• Has improved health of more than thousands of individuals of all
ages in Nepal through different programs and plans related.
• Has been generating experts by hiring youths for the completion
of the various projects handled by the organization.
• Has been helping to update the latest data in national grid
through completed projects and research.
