IPRA 2007/2008 Strategic Plan
The first Strategic Plan and Work Plan for the Illinois Park and Recreation Association (IPRA) covered the two-year period of 2006 and 2007 and will continue to be the basic working document to direct the association for the future.
The Strategic Plan is a continuous working document that provides a clear direction for the work of the association as a unified, future developing organization. Its direction is also to support the Board of Directors in a positive decision making process regarding organizational direction, budget and program priorities.
Its core direction follows the mission and values of the association with working towards enhancing and improving programs and services for the members. Staff reviewed the 2006/2007 Strategic Plan and has redirected items from the current plan that were not accomplished or were semi-accomplished to the 2007/2008 Strategic Plan.
The 2007/2008 Strategic Plan is not a “work plan” but an open document that may change with the direction of the association. Outcomes are accomplished through the IPRA Staff Work Plan which may incorporate Governance or Board Policy outcomes to assist the Board of Directors. The Staff Work Plan is a creative, project management oriented document that allows significant research and testing before the outcome is specified as completed. The allowance of creativity and project management within the Work Plan is significant as it allows for “trial and error” before a positive outcome is accomplished thus completing the outcome to the satisfaction of the Board of Directors.

Partnerships are defined as relationships where two or more parties form an agreement to share work, knowledge, risk, accountability, and results to achieve compatible goals. Partnerships are beneficial as they allow for networking, promotion, additional resources, funding opportunities, and flexible service delivery. The most significant reason for partnering is to serve clients by providing a full suite of services and advocating to decision makers. Educational Reform in Osaka_Tkitami

Meadowland college freshman orientation
Volunteers will help freshmen move into their dorms on August 24th and assist with setting up computers. That evening, freshmen will attend an orientation session and barbecue. The next day includes breakfast, volunteering at local sites, and dinner at Princeton restaurants. The orientation schedule provides meals and activities to help freshmen meet peers and learn about campus resources like transportation and clubs.

Strategy - There is a clear link between the strategy of the company and the strategy of leadership development. Successful organizations closely examine which talent programs are needed and which interventions are necessary to realize their company strategy.
Involvement - The responsibility of talent development lies at the top of the organization, and top management is also actively involved in the development of future management. The top managers themselves are frequently active as mentors, coaches or trainers, and frequently share their experiences and insights. Often the CEO plays a prominent, active role in training or action learning, i.e., using high potentials coupled with experienced leaders on essential questions.
