This document analyzes the target demographics of several films based on YouGov profile data and stereotypes. It finds that Along Came a Spider and The Lovely Bones appeal more to older women, likely due to themes involving children. Jack Reacher and Speed appeal more to younger men due to themes of action and violence. Now You See Me appeals more to younger people who grew up with magic shows. Gone Girl appeals more to educated younger women drawn to its psychological thriller genre.

A Strategic Approach: GenAI in EducationPeter Windle
Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies such as Generative AI, Image Generators and Large Language Models have had a dramatic impact on teaching, learning and assessment over the past 18 months. The most immediate threat AI posed was to Academic Integrity with Higher Education Institutes (HEIs) focusing their efforts on combating the use of GenAI in assessment. Guidelines were developed for staff and students, policies put in place too. Innovative educators have forged paths in the use of Generative AI for teaching, learning and assessments leading to pockets of transformation springing up across HEIs, often with little or no top-down guidance, support or direction.
This Gasta posits a strategic approach to integrating AI into HEIs to prepare staff, students and the curriculum for an evolving world and workplace. We will highlight the advantages of working with these technologies beyond the realm of teaching, learning and assessment by considering prompt engineering skills, industry impact, curriculum changes, and the need for staff upskilling. In contrast, not engaging strategically with Generative AI poses risks, including falling behind peers, missed opportunities and failing to ensure our graduates remain employable. The rapid evolution of AI technologies necessitates a proactive and strategic approach if we are to remain relevant.
The French Revolution, which began in 1789, was a period of radical social and political upheaval in France. It marked the decline of absolute monarchies, the rise of secular and democratic republics, and the eventual rise of Napoleon Bonaparte. This revolutionary period is crucial in understanding the transition from feudalism to modernity in Europe.

Operation “Blue Star” is the only event in the history of Independent India where the state went into war with its own people. Even after about 40 years it is not clear if it was culmination of states anger over people of the region, a political game of power or start of dictatorial chapter in the democratic setup.
The people of Punjab felt alienated from main stream due to denial of their just demands during a long democratic struggle since independence. As it happen all over the word, it led to militant struggle with great loss of lives of military, police and civilian personnel. Killing of Indira Gandhi and massacre of innocent Sikhs in Delhi and other India cities was also associated with this movement.

The Roman Empire A Historical Colossus.pdfkaushalkr1407
The Roman Empire, a vast and enduring power, stands as one of history's most remarkable civilizations, leaving an indelible imprint on the world. It emerged from the Roman Republic, transitioning into an imperial powerhouse under the leadership of Augustus Caesar in 27 BCE. This transformation marked the beginning of an era defined by unprecedented territorial expansion, architectural marvels, and profound cultural influence.
The empire's roots lie in the city of Rome, founded, according to legend, by Romulus in 753 BCE. Over centuries, Rome evolved from a small settlement to a formidable republic, characterized by a complex political system with elected officials and checks on power. However, internal strife, class conflicts, and military ambitions paved the way for the end of the Republic. Julius Caesar’s dictatorship and subsequent assassination in 44 BCE created a power vacuum, leading to a civil war. Octavian, later Augustus, emerged victorious, heralding the Roman Empire’s birth.
Under Augustus, the empire experienced the Pax Romana, a 200-year period of relative peace and stability. Augustus reformed the military, established efficient administrative systems, and initiated grand construction projects. The empire's borders expanded, encompassing territories from Britain to Egypt and from Spain to the Euphrates. Roman legions, renowned for their discipline and engineering prowess, secured and maintained these vast territories, building roads, fortifications, and cities that facilitated control and integration.
The Roman Empire’s society was hierarchical, with a rigid class system. At the top were the patricians, wealthy elites who held significant political power. Below them were the plebeians, free citizens with limited political influence, and the vast numbers of slaves who formed the backbone of the economy. The family unit was central, governed by the paterfamilias, the male head who held absolute authority.
Culturally, the Romans were eclectic, absorbing and adapting elements from the civilizations they encountered, particularly the Greeks. Roman art, literature, and philosophy reflected this synthesis, creating a rich cultural tapestry. Latin, the Roman language, became the lingua franca of the Western world, influencing numerous modern languages.
Roman architecture and engineering achievements were monumental. They perfected the arch, vault, and dome, constructing enduring structures like the Colosseum, Pantheon, and aqueducts. These engineering marvels not only showcased Roman ingenuity but also served practical purposes, from public entertainment to water supply.

1. This YouGov profile shows the results of combining the
profiles of people who have said they like the film, Along
Came a Spider. The general demographic of this film is
40-54 year old women who the majority of work in
construction. They tend to be of the higher social classes
but public workers which could explain why the majority
are conservative supporters. The age of this demographic
could be dependant on the age of the film and the gender
could be because the use of children causes women to
turn maternal and will therefore form a stronger synthetic
connection to the characters.
For Jack Reacher, as I expected is typically aimed at
males between 25-39. This was expected due to the key
themes and Tom Cruise being the star, also, the fact that
this is the film with the most action out of the ones I
looked at which is stereotypically most appealing to men.
Also, the majority of people work in construction or
mining and quarrying similar to Along Came a Spider
which could be due to location (the quarry) or other.
Furthermore, the political preference of the audience
could link to Jack Reacher’s view on the law as it would
mean that the audience can relate more.
2. Trailer Target audience (based on the YouGov profiles
and/or a stereotypical view)
Features appealing to the target audience
Jack Reacher Males
25-34
Works in public service (secondary
sector)
Conservative
A male protagonist who also has some conservative
views so that the audience can relate to him and
therefore creating a synthetic connection. There is a
lot of action involving vehicles and speed which is
typically appealing to males mainly and the inclusion
of violence could explain the age of the demographic
but will also appeal to males as they are
stereotypically the more aggressive gender.
Along Came a Spider Females
40-50
Works in public service (secondary
sector)- typically higher paid jobs that
tend to be stereotyped as male jobs.
Conservative
The use of children causes the female audience to
become maternal and protective which will form an
emotional response from the audience. The older
audience could be due to the film being relatively
older especially compared to the other two so when
the film came out this audience would’ve been
younger. The location of a school links in with
working in the public service sector and teachers
would also typically share a conservative viewpoint.
Nerve Females
15-24
Teenagers/students
The use of a female victim but also protagonist will
mean that females relate to the character more but
also the arguments between friends and the
romantic plot will appeal mainly to females.
Technology being the major theme will attract this
age category as they are stereotypically more
accustomed to technology as they have grown up
with it.
3. Speed is older film which could explain the age
category that is said to be fans of this film. The
predominantly male audience could be due to
Keanu Reeves starring as the protagonist who
males will relate to and see as a role model.
Females, however, would find this appealing as
Keanu Reeves will appeal to the female gaze. This
film is supposedly appeals to those of a lower
social class and this could be due to the simple
plot as this profile suggests that the target
demographic have less educational potential.
Now You See Me does not include any action or violence which are
themes that typically attract men to watching a film. This could
suggest why the target demographic is generally females but also
because there is a strong female persona in the group of magicians
who women would relate to but also the attractive males such as
Dave Franco would appeal to the female gaze. The age category
could be due to the fact that this generation of people grew up
with magic shows and acts whereas magic has more recently died
down and become less of a spectacle. The magic theme will attract
entertainers hence the general profession, this is because they
know about a performance and will therefore be able to pick up on
things that others wont. This is important within a thriller as these
performances act as clues that will play with their minds.
4. People who like The Lovely Bones
The audience of The Lovely Bones can be explained
in a similar manner to that of Along Came a Spider-
the inclusion of children. The main profession is
obvious as the narrative follows the death of a
young girl, murdered after a man lured her into an
underground bunker. The social care profession will
find this captivating and emotional as it links to
what they have chosen to do as an occupation.
Gone Girl would appeal to females as the victim is a female
so they will empathise but it is also more of a naturalistic
drama with minimal violence. Women stereotypically
prefer the more mental psychological thrillers over action.
The narrative also follows quite a young couple which will
appeal a similar age group as that age group will
understand the situations more than other age categories.
The other factors within this profile such as the upper
social class, the labour support and the plentiful salary
suggest an influential educational background which is
relevant because the narrative of this film is complex and
sophisticated.
