All employees and management were extremely surprised by the takeover and are having a hard time processing it. The main them and problem that will be noted in this post is the lack of communication, direction and vision.
Glaxo-Wellcome is on the way to becoming one of the largest pharmaceutical companies in the world. There is an apparent hostile takeover in progress that no one including Wellcome management is aware of. As with any change there are periods of uncertainty, fear, and anxiety. The main focus is a general manager Ofra Sherman and her team who works for Wellcome Israel through Promedico. This takeover was done in a manner that is very disturbing in the fact that there was no communication and very little guidance throughout the entire process.
What they should have done is really quite simple and that is communicate. As I mentioned before change is a very anxious time and can lead to stress and poor work performance for those involved. “Good communication throughout every stage of the change process is vital to keep everyone informed and motivation levels high.” (Kirke 2012) This takeover shouldn’t have been a surprise to Wellcome and they should have been upfront with employees about what was going to occur and then once the takeover by Glaxo started the communication should have ramped up. I think one of the best ways to have handled this would have been to have teams from both companies setting up meetings so there was a continuous flow of information.

This document highlights the most important concepts on Access Control List (ACL) that
you need to learn in order to configure ACL in CLI. This tutorial does not intend by any
mean to cover all ACL applications, but only those scenarios used in then SEC450
iLabs.
Introduction to Access Control List
A host-based firewall essentially works closing and/or opening ports in a
computer. The engine behind firewalls is built with Access Control Lists (ACL).
Network-based firewalls are implemented in device-specific appliances and
routers. Basically, firewalls in routers filter packets through interfaces to permit
or deny them.
Ports are layer-4 address specified in TCP/IP protocol suit that identify
networking processes running in clients and servers.
ACLs are configured using shell-specific commands. In Cisco IOS, CLI

Central Message: Auditing has had to change from “around the computer” to “through the
computer” due to sources only being available in electronic form. CAATs and CAATTs improve
efficiency and effectiveness of audits. A variety of standards and statements were issued because
new guidance was necessary once the growth of IT affected the nature, timing, and extent of audit
procedures. Continuous auditing is the key to improving the efficiency and effectiveness of audits.
Author’s Theme: Auditors are advised to use CAATs to gather evidence so that they can increase
the efficiency of inspection and analytical review. One of the many statements released on IT, SAS
94, stressed that IT’s impact on internal control is a result of the nature and extent of the system’s
complexity rather than the size of the firm, which is why auditing through the computer is
important when testing controls. Auditors can pinpoint the risk areas and thus have a better idea of
what to inquire when questioning management; improving the quality of the evidence and thus the
audit. Importance: Advancement in information technology has a direct impact on business
processes and the audit. Increasingly, auditors are required to perform audits in computerized
environments; therefore, additional standards are required to ensure that financial statements
auditors continue to perform high quality audits. Conclusion/Opinions: (1) The author concludes
that auditing through the computer is important when testing controls because of the impact IT has
on internal control. GAAS field work #2 supports this because the IT system is a part of the entity’s
environment, and especially, when it is complex, the auditor must audit through the computer to
adequately assess internal control risk. (2) Using CAATs can increase the efficiency of audit
procedures. SAS No. 106 indicates that CAATs allow auditors to inspect electronic evidence directly.
(3) Auditors should use data analysis from audit software in order to pinpoint the risk areas and
gain a better idea of what to ask management. AS # 5 states that risk assessment underlies the
entire audit process, including the determination of significant accounts and relevant assertions,
selecting controls to test, and determining the evidence necessary.

“Transmission Unaccomplished” written in the Lex section of Friday’s Financial Times
offers an interesting and simplified perspective of the complex and sophisticated purpose and
workings of monetary policy. At a time when the world is reeling from the effects of
misunderstood monetary policy in the United States and other nations around the globe, this
article clearly cuts to the heart of the matter, provides a simple, easy to understand analogy
relating monetary policy to an automobile. The authors describe the key moving parts of the
economy as they correlate to their counterparts in an automobile. While he labor and
resources constitute the fuel of the economy, technology and institutions correspond to the
engine, and commerce is depicted as wheels. The financial system is the transmission,
responsible for moving the power and energy created by the fuel and engine to the wheels.
This simple analogy helps frame the context for the reason why central bankers – the
transmission mechanics – were facing increasing difficulty. In particular, the 1.6 % drop in
the dollar’s value, the lack of real economic turn-around, and the lagging increase in GDPs
around the world. The authors seem to think the US, despite an increasing saving rate and
10% deleveraging, still has long ways to go on the road to recovery, and the automobile
analogy suggests, is in need of significant repairs and rebuilding before it is truly road worthy.
3. How is the article is related to the readings and class discussions?
The concepts in the article mesh with the readings in chapters 3 – 5 as a current, real world
depiction of how monetary policy influences decisions in economics. The article highlights the
need for central bankers to properly manage monetary policy in order to maintain the
transmission of the vehicle, and keep the proper amount of power moving from the motor to the
wheels. It questions the true value of quantitative easing, and highlights the ramifications of
pursuing excessive QE as a policy. Just as was discussed in the first five chapters of the text
book, monetary policy involves a delicate balance of adjusting interest rates, setting currency
value, and establishing guidelines that enable prosperity and growth. The article also identifies
too much intervention as a possible means for enhancing the problems we face, rather than
ameliorating the problems.

This article certainly helped put monetary policy, something I seem to be familiar with only

The review should be three to five (3-5) pages long.
The paper should be double spaced, twelve (12) point type, indent one tab at the beginning of each paragraph, no extra space between paragraphs, one (1) inch margins all around.
Start by giving the name of the play, the name of the author, the name of the theater, the date of the performance. (Also attach your ticket stub to the review. Save your program to help with the paper.) Present your argument/thesis: What does this play teach us about what it means to be human?
In the body of the review, begin by giving your overall impression of the performance. In the impression, identify the main genre and as part of the description Elaborate on the style and genre. Identify any other genres and inconsistencies or mixtures of styles that appear.
Give a synopsis of the story, one to three (1-3) paragraphs, generally one paragraph per act. Evaluate how well the plot is constructed: is it easy to follow? Does it follow cause and effect? Can you identify the inciting incident, reversal, etc., clearly? Is there a high or low degree of verisimilitude concerning the dramatic situation? If a low degree, is it intentional? Include whether the play obeys any or all of the unities or is episodic. Does the play have a satisfactory ending, or does it rely on a deus ex machina? What is the thought (main idea/thesis) of the play? Is it clearly articulated in the play’s denouement? Does it come out of what the characters do or is it imposed from outside? Is it worth articulating? .
Evaluate the acting, particularly of the major characters. Is it lifelike? [Verisimilitude] Is it intended to be? Does it coincide with the style of the play? Point out any standout performances by specific actors, good or bad [1-3 paragraphs].
Describe the set. How well does it define the sense of place and time that is the setting of the play? Does it blend with the style of the play and the actors’ performances? Does it help create the mood of the production? Tell why. [1-3 paragraphs]
Do the same with the costumes, sound and lighting. Point out any aspect which calls attention to itself, good or bad. Tell why. [1-3 paragraphs]

Culture doesn’t change us, we change ourselves. The essay ‘two ways to belong in America’ by Bharati Mukherjee clearly demonstrates this statement. The author contrasts her American lifestyle to her sister’s Indian traditional life. Born in 1940 and raised in India, Bharati Mukherjee immigrated to the USA where she taught literature and fiction at the University of California, Berkeley. ‘Two ways to belong in America’ was written to address a movement in congress to take away government benefits from resident aliens. ‘Why bother?’ is a question people ask when confronted with living choices to reduce carbon footprint. Wendell berry a farmer and writer from Kentucky diagnosed the problems of industrial civilization as being too much specialization. Climate change is the result of cheap energy hence making it impossible to conquer climate change in our own lives (Michael Pollan).
Both essays use conversational language. Both Pollan and Mukherjee both address their readers directly. Their message is precise, understandable and relatable to the audience. The two sisters converse in a way that two sisters would in this age and time.
The two essays talk about being virtuous. A sense of personal virtue is demonstrated in both essays with an act of personal environmental responsibility in ‘why bother’. Mira and Bharati are both vitreous. They endure life and live politely with each other despite their differences. They are hardworking, well raised sisters.
In both essays the tales are about real people who lived around 40 years ago. The essay ‘don’t bother’ talks about a Wendell berry a Kentucky farmer analysed the moral imperative regarding environmental crisis. In the Two ways of belonging to America’ Mira and Bharati have lived in the USA for 35 years. The two sisters have attended school and worked very hard as immigrants.
In both essays there is difference in opinion in how to approach different solutions of a problem. Mira and Bharati have different ways of living as expatriates. One is susceptible to changes as an American while the other is not changed by her society. In ‘why bother’, people have to bother in order to ensure progress in our specific communities and eventually nationally. The two sisters don’t do much to change the state of the immigrant situation. They are polite. In why bother, there is self-reliance and need to participate in change making.
The message being passed along in this two essays is that there is need to be politically correct and aware.
The two sisters Mira and Bharati are politically aware and know what is happening and the USA and how it affects them. In why Bother, Pollan tends to show that his protagonists are aware of their surroundings and what they should do to change the situation at hand.
The main differences between these two essays is the topic of discussion for both. Two ways of belonging to America discusses the topic of immigration and two sisters who.

My claim: Using the COLFV model to analyze the genre of this informative online article, I find that
Seliger effectively uses organization, language, and values;
however, the content and format of the text could be improved.
CONTENT:
Feature 1 – Percentages
• In reference to the outside source, Elizabeth Somer, Seliger
includes percentages. “I’d say about 50%-70% of suffering
could be eliminated by what people eat and how they move:
heart disease, diabetes, cancer, hypertension can all be
impacted.” (para. 3)
✛ By including these percentages, the reader can easily
refer to them in the text.

Feature 2 – Comparisons
• The author compares age with calcium levels for adults (para. 12). For example, the author includes:

✛ These comparisons by age and level of calcium help readers find which level fits them.
✕ These comparisons are important, however, the ages are limited to adults. Albeit the first group

This document highlights the most important concepts on Access Control List (ACL) that
you need to learn in order to configure ACL in CLI. This tutorial does not intend by any
mean to cover all ACL applications, but only those scenarios used in then SEC450
iLabs.
Introduction to Access Control List
A host-based firewall essentially works closing and/or opening ports in a
computer. The engine behind firewalls is built with Access Control Lists (ACL).
Network-based firewalls are implemented in device-specific appliances and
routers. Basically, firewalls in routers filter packets through interfaces to permit
or deny them.
Ports are layer-4 address specified in TCP/IP protocol suit that identify
networking processes running in clients and servers.
ACLs are configured using shell-specific commands. In Cisco IOS, CLI
commands.

Central Message: Auditing has had to change from “around the computer” to “through the
computer” due to sources only being available in electronic form. CAATs and CAATTs improve
efficiency and effectiveness of audits. A variety of standards and statements were issued because
new guidance was necessary once the growth of IT affected the nature, timing, and extent of audit
procedures. Continuous auditing is the key to improving the efficiency and effectiveness of audits.
Author’s Theme: Auditors are advised to use CAATs to gather evidence so that they can increase
the efficiency of inspection and analytical review. One of the many statements released on IT, SAS
94, stressed that IT’s impact on internal control is a result of the nature and extent of the system’s
complexity rather than the size of the firm, which is why auditing through the computer is
important when testing controls. Auditors can pinpoint the risk areas and thus have a better idea of
what to inquire when questioning management; improving the quality of the evidence and thus the
audit. Importance: Advancement in information technology has a direct impact on business
processes and the audit. Increasingly, auditors are required to perform audits in computerized
environments; therefore, additional standards are required to ensure that financial statements
auditors continue to perform high quality audits. Conclusion/Opinions: (1) The author concludes
that auditing through the computer is important when testing controls because of the impact IT has
on internal control. GAAS field work #2 supports this because the IT system is a part of the entity’s
environment, and especially, when it is complex, the auditor must audit through the computer to
adequately assess internal control risk. (2) Using CAATs can increase the efficiency of audit
procedures. SAS No. 106 indicates that CAATs allow auditors to inspect electronic evidence directly.
(3) Auditors should use data analysis from audit software in order to pinpoint the risk areas and
gain a better idea of what to ask management. AS # 5 states that risk assessment underlies the
entire audit process, including the determination of significant accounts and relevant assertions,
selecting controls to test, and determining the evidence necessary.

“Transmission Unaccomplished” written in the Lex section of Friday’s Financial Times
offers an interesting and simplified perspective of the complex and sophisticated purpose and
workings of monetary policy. At a time when the world is reeling from the effects of
misunderstood monetary policy in the United States and other nations around the globe, this
article clearly cuts to the heart of the matter, provides a simple, easy to understand analogy
relating monetary policy to an automobile. The authors describe the key moving parts of the
economy as they correlate to their counterparts in an automobile. While he labor and
resources constitute the fuel of the economy, technology and institutions correspond to the
engine, and commerce is depicted as wheels. The financial system is the transmission,
responsible for moving the power and energy created by the fuel and engine to the wheels.
This simple analogy helps frame the context for the reason why central bankers – the
transmission mechanics – were facing increasing difficulty. In particular, the 1.6 % drop in
the dollar’s value, the lack of real economic turn-around, and the lagging increase in GDPs
around the world. The authors seem to think the US, despite an increasing saving rate and
10% deleveraging, still has long ways to go on the road to recovery, and the automobile
analogy suggests, is in need of significant repairs and rebuilding before it is truly road worthy.
3. How is the article is related to the readings and class discussions?
The concepts in the article mesh with the readings in chapters 3 – 5 as a current, real world
depiction of how monetary policy influences decisions in economics. The article highlights the
need for central bankers to properly manage monetary policy in order to maintain the
transmission of the vehicle, and keep the proper amount of power moving from the motor to the
wheels. It questions the true value of quantitative easing, and highlights the ramifications of
pursuing excessive QE as a policy. Just as was discussed in the first five chapters of the text
book, monetary policy involves a delicate balance of adjusting interest rates, setting currency
value, and establishing guidelines that enable prosperity and growth. The article also identifies
too much intervention as a possible means for enhancing the problems we face, rather than
ameliorating the problems.

This article certainly helped put monetary policy, something I seem to be familiar with only

The author contrasts her American lifestyle to her sister’s Indian traditional life. Born in 1940 and raised in India, Bharati Mukherjee immigrated to the USA where she taught literature and fiction at the University of California, Berkeley. ‘Two ways to belong in America’ was written to address a movement in congress to take away government benefits from resident aliens. ‘Why bother?’ is a question people ask when confronted with living choices to reduce carbon footprint. Wendell berry a farmer and writer from Kentucky diagnosed the problems of industrial civilization as being too much specialization. Climate change is the result of cheap energy hence making it impossible to conquer climate change in our own lives (Michael Pollan).
Both essays use conversational language. Both Pollan and Mukherjee both address their readers directly. Their message is precise, understandable and relatable to the audience. The two sisters converse in a way that two sisters would in this age and time.

In the Two ways of belonging to America’ Mira and Bharati have lived in the USA for 35 years. The two sisters have attended school and worked very hard as immigrants.
In both essays there is difference in opinion in how to approach different solutions of a problem. Mira and Bharati have different ways of living as expatriates. One is susceptible to changes as an American while the other is not changed by her society. In ‘why bother’, people have to bother in order to ensure progress in our specific communities and eventually nationally. The two sisters don’t do much to change the state of the immigrant situation. They are polite. In why bother, there is self-reliance and need to participate in change making.
The message being passed along in this two essays is that there is need to be politically correct and aware.
The two sisters Mira and Bharati are politically aware and know what is happening and the USA and how it affects them. In why Bother, Pollan tends to show that his protagonists are aware of their surroundings and what they should do to change the situation at hand.
The main differences between these two essays is the topic of discussion for both. Two ways of belonging to America discusses the topic of immigration and two sisters who.

Genre Analysis of the Online Article, ‘Superfoods’ Everyone Needs

with illnesses, diseases, or other health ailments

My analysis tool: COLFV model, which stands for five elements—content, organization, language,
format, and values
My claim: Using the COLFV model to analyze the genre of this informative online article, I find that
Seliger effectively uses organization, language, and values;
however, the content and format of the text could be improved.
CONTENT:
Feature 1 – Percentages
• In reference to the outside source, Elizabeth Somer, Seliger
includes percentages. “I’d say about 50%-70% of suffering
could be eliminated by what people eat and how they move:
heart disease, diabetes, cancer, hypertension can all be
impacted.” (para. 3)
✛ By including these percentages, the reader can easily
refer to them in the text.
✛ Percentages make the comment more tangible.
Feature 2 – Comparisons
• The author compares age with calcium levels for adults (para. 12). For example, the author includes:
“Age 9-18 – 1300mg; age 19-50 – 1000mg; age 51 and over – 1200mg,” in bullet point format on
separate lines.
✛ These comparisons by age and level of calcium help readers find which level fits them.
✕ These comparisons are important, however, the ages are limited to adults. Albeit the first group
includes children from ages 9-18, it can be useful for readers to be informed about the levels for
younger children.
ORGANIZATION:
Feature 1 – Classification
• Seliger classifies each highlighted superfood in the subheadings. For example, blueberries are the
“antioxident superfood” (above para. 5) whereas tea lowers cholesterol and inhibits cancer (above
para. 11).
✛ These classifications help distinguish the beneficial properties of each superfood.

A Strategic Approach: GenAI in Education
Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies such as Generative AI, Image Generators and Large Language Models have had a dramatic impact on teaching, learning and assessment over the past 18 months. The most immediate threat AI posed was to Academic Integrity with Higher Education Institutes (HEIs) focusing their efforts on combating the use of GenAI in assessment. Guidelines were developed for staff and students, policies put in place too. Innovative educators have forged paths in the use of Generative AI for teaching, learning and assessments leading to pockets of transformation springing up across HEIs, often with little or no top-down guidance, support or direction.
This Gasta posits a strategic approach to integrating AI into HEIs to prepare staff, students and the curriculum for an evolving world and workplace. We will highlight the advantages of working with these technologies beyond the realm of teaching, learning and assessment by considering prompt engineering skills, industry impact, curriculum changes, and the need for staff upskilling. In contrast, not engaging strategically with Generative AI poses risks, including falling behind peers, missed opportunities and failing to ensure our graduates remain employable. The rapid evolution of AI technologies necessitates a proactive and strategic approach if we are to remain relevant.

Dear Dr. Kornbluth and Mr. Gorenberg,
The US House of Representatives is deeply concerned by ongoing and pervasive acts of antisemitic
harassment and intimidation at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). Failing to act decisively to ensure a safe learning environment for all students would be a grave dereliction of your responsibilities as President of MIT and Chair of the MIT Corporation.
This Congress will not stand idly by and allow an environment hostile to Jewish students to persist. The House believes that your institution is in violation of Title VI of the Civil Rights Act, and the inability or
unwillingness to rectify this violation through action requires accountability.
Postsecondary education is a unique opportunity for students to learn and have their ideas and beliefs challenged. However, universities receiving hundreds of millions of federal funds annually have denied
students that opportunity and have been hijacked to become venues for the promotion of terrorism, antisemitic harassment and intimidation, unlawful encampments, and in some cases, assaults and riots.
The House of Representatives will not countenance the use of federal funds to indoctrinate students into hateful, antisemitic, anti-American supporters of terrorism. Investigations into campus antisemitism by the Committee on Education and the Workforce and the Committee on Ways and Means have been expanded into a Congress-wide probe across all relevant jurisdictions to address this national crisis. The undersigned Committees will conduct oversight into the use of federal funds at MIT and its learning environment under authorities granted to each Committee.
• The Committee on Education and the Workforce has been investigating your institution since December 7, 2023. The Committee has broad jurisdiction over postsecondary education, including its compliance with Title VI of the Civil Rights Act, campus safety concerns over disruptions to the learning environment, and the awarding of federal student aid under the Higher Education Act.
• The Committee on Oversight and Accountability is investigating the sources of funding and other support flowing to groups espousing pro-Hamas propaganda and engaged in antisemitic harassment and intimidation of students. The Committee on Oversight and Accountability is the principal oversight committee of the US House of Representatives and has broad authority to investigate “any matter” at “any time” under House Rule X.
• The Committee on Ways and Means has been investigating several universities since November 15, 2023, when the Committee held a hearing entitled From Ivory Towers to Dark Corners: Investigating the Nexus Between Antisemitism, Tax-Exempt Universities, and Terror Financing.
